The Dating Thread
Too bad I'm married, I would so own on internet dating. I'm not hideous, and I can write a bit--therein lies the key. Polish up on your grammar and rhetorical skills, then you may land someone you don't deserve. Truly though, internet dating has to be a crapshoot--don't we become attracted to people based on scent? Like dogs minus the embarrassing crotch sniffing. I honestly believe this to be true, the internets, until they account for that will continue to put people together who don't belong together. :yap:

Cleveland Browns Discussion
Stellar outing by Derek Anderson. Why have Brady Quinn just sit? When Anderson is sucking, why not put in Quinn?

It is not a great place to find a mate--many folks marry young and then divorce.

Ohio: Casino / Gaming Discussion
I'm voting "No" because it isn't a smart piece of legislation. No moralizing, though gaming hasn't proved to be an elixir of any kind, I just think that if we are going to have casinos more than one company should be able to operate them to the taxpayers' benefit.

Cheviot, Ohio
That bowling alley looks like it was repositioned, was it a school before? I drive through Cheviot once in a while, but have never actually "been" there, it looks like Hamilton.

UrbanOhio T-Shirt - Design CONTEST!!!
LOL @ losing to Toledo. Michigan is a worthless craphole.

Atlanta: Downtown
41, Oxford, Ohio. Just like the majority of the people I knew that moved there. They partied there, then realized ATL wasn't cracked up to be what they thought and moved back north. ATL=Yawn to MTS! No. We moved backed to finish up schooling and hopefully will get back to the ATL when done.

Cincinnati Brewery / Beer / Alcohol News
LOL @ Cedar's, awesome. Is Tommy still there? What about the Herman's or the Leone's?

Toledo: Joe the Plumber
JtP=no plumbing license. :) So, pretty much he's an actor hired by McCain campaign. Partly kidding, but if you are going to call yourself a plumber, wouldn't help to actually be one?

Toledo: Joe the Plumber
Dear God @ Rush Limbaugh saying "Joe the Plumber" over 9,000 times on his show. Basically, the Plumber was a Republican plant who got Obama to say something that the Republicans can hammer. I always have to LOL @ talk radio calling Obama a socialist while there guy Bush pretty much reconfigures the US economy toward socialism. Why is socialism Ok for the rich but not the poor? That's what I don't get.

Toledo: Joe the Plumber
Joe the Plumber needs to be in Nailin Palin.

Toledo: Joe the Plumber
I find it simply amazing that anyone in the hard-hit areas of the nation would even consider McCain. If Joe is making 250k in Toledo, he is doing damn well for himself, but giving the state of this economy he won't continue to so well for long.

Toledo: Joe the Plumber
:-) Anyone have Joe the Plumber work for them? LOL @ him being the most famous plumber since...Ralph Cramden? Mr. Furley? I can't even name a famous plumber.

Bob Evans
We eat at Bob when we drive around the state. It's friendly enough for the kids and the food is Ok. The one in Oxford sucks, though. I have to wait half an hour at least every time I am there and they invariably eff up my order. Bob is not sexy, and the country decor kind of makes me sad, but that's on me, not Bob.

Warren Ohio
LOL @ the picture of Saint Mary's. We had to walk to mass there like once a month on Fridays in middle school. The middle school is vacant now and it's a good thing, that place was creepy even in the 70s. My mom still lives in Warren, so we stayed at the Comfort Inn one Christmas, not bad, not the best conditions, but not bad. Would love to go back and explore some more. I actually got to go up in the top of the Courthouse once on like a 30-foot extension ladder. Looks like directv occupies that space now.

In Youngstown, We Made Steel (1977-today)
Rolling Stone recently had a crushing critique of Youngstown based on old lore and class bias--murder capital BS and "armpit of Ohio" were cited. Having grown up in Warren and attending YSU right after big steel fell I can tell you this: it does not get MORE real than Youngstown, Ohio. It is not a bad place, but it is a place that demonstrates as many have pointed out "putting all you eggs in one basket." I don't know if it will ever come back, but maybe it can be better as a small community.

The "Apple Macintosh" Discussion Thread
My G4 is like 4 years old and still rocks socks. Of course I use it write word docs and surf the internets, so really it doesn't have to do too much.

Atlanta: Downtown
The ATL is an incredible city. Sure, it doesn't have the old-time flavor of a Chicago or a Boston, but the people are fantastic. I guess i'm just partial to it because I spent my twenties there and met my wife and made some cool friends. You can say it's bland and soulless, but if you aren't from there you can find thousands of others just like you. It's like the anti-Cincinnati, no one knows what high school you went to nor do they care. VA/Highland is a beautiful in-town neighborhood, Buckhead still has some nice places, and the Candler Park L5P area is cool. Love me some ATL!
