  1. So this company is started by a friend of a friend (have not met them personally) but I figured I would give them a plug because their designs are so legit. They have great designs featuring Cleveland and one or two of Ohio and Ohio State in general... check them out. Inside Business is doing an article on them and PBS just finished taping a segment about them. I am pretty sure it is well under 100k sqft... I remember someone had put up some renderings awhile ago that leaked but was forced to remove them. Maybe some one who recalls can give you more accurate information.

Well they had said they wanted to refrain from disclosing them because if they could not raise the funds required to build it they didn't want to have to publicly scale the plans down and create disapointment. That being said now they are almost over the hump ($11 million is still no chump change to be short on) they might do well to release them, they might get some smaller donations that might add up...

You beat me to it by 30 seconds! Great news though.
  5. I just saw this on channel 5 news... I was like foreal? Let me check UrbanOhio... sure enough.
  6. Beautiful.
  7. Awesomeness, maybe we could attach some photos of these bridges when newly constructed, to this thread.
  8. ^Agreed.
  9. I don't think we'll be seeing a lot of cheap steaks at the casino. Have you seen the food prices at The Q? Ouch... Food prices are subsidized by gambling to keep people in... not to mention O2 being pumped in... alcohol that you need only tip the waitress for... not that I would know or anything. I think if you are expecting natchos and cheese plus beer as the limitations in food options you will be mistaken. Has anyone else actually been to a casino!? It doesn't seem like it judging from some comments.
  10. I heard the owner of the Harry Buffalo was b*itching that, how can I sell 14.95 steaks if they are giving them away for 9.95? Hmmmm.... competition? This city has a bunch of haters, if FC doesnt get there way they try to torpedo it, Jacobs might lose money so he trys to torpedo issue 3, Peter B. Lewis is given crap about his tower so he leaves for the burbs, jealous money ran John D. Rockefeller out of town... IT IS HIGH TIME THIS CITY STOP COUNTING THE OTHERS MANS BANK ACCOUNT. If another guy makes it big we should be happy for him, Gilbert isn't perfect (he looks sleazy, how much moose does he use, foreal?) but he MAKES things happen. I like his grittiness, we need more entrepernuers like him to call Cleveland home.

MAYDAY: I just saw your yearbook picture on skyscraper page! Chopped bangs, Empire State building and all!
  12. Opening in a city near you: "Club Swole" or "The Swole Room" hmmm....
  13. AWESOME news, we need as many protected areas as possible. Not only are forest theraputic and, naturally, good for the environment but they encourage more urban development. (less land for sprawl)

^Yeah they said on the coverage of that game (ac milan vs ?) i forget that the new Cowboys stadium had sod put down for around $300k which isnt bad considering the income this event will pose.
  15. Thats a sweet photo, lets see the Brownies do us proud some time soon eh? Maybe Randy Lerner will stop paying so much attention to his FA Primier League Soccer Team and more about the team his Dad helped to ressurect on behalf of his home town.

If I could use my confirmation name instead of middle name, my porn star name would be Dick Tower... That is awesome.
  17. London has shown how this could have commercial impact: September 1, 2009 Pop! An Empty Shop Fills With Art By JULIA WERDIGIER LONDON — Three months ago Simon Tarrant, a 44-year-old painter here who has never had gallery representation and has had only two solo shows in his 15-year career, decided to try something different. He approached the owners of a vacant building on a busy street in one of London’s most affluent neighborhoods, and by June he had turned it into an exhibition space, where two of his semi-abstract landscapes now hang prominently. With its four floors of high ceilings and big windows, the building — formerly a fashion boutique on Fulham Road in Chelsea — makes an ideal gallery for Mr. Tarrant’s art, along with that of 14 of his friends and acquaintances. 18. No pun intended but BRAVO to those of you who called Tony Brown out, I honestly do not understand how that made it past the editors first glance. Susan you have alot of work to do!
  19. Whats Ray Lewis doing taking pictures for the WV Dept. of Transportation? Shouldn't he be out killing some one? Nice set though, Appalachia is pretty neat to met.

To humanize our discussions, quite simply, what is your name? -J. Holden Gibbons
  21. Be sure to document. and I hope you'll share your renovation progress with us. I most certainly am! The address is 3448 East 145th right off Kinsman. The street is nice, lots of long time residents who are happy to have a bunch of young guys improving their neighborhood. I might need some suggestions for interior work MyTwoSense, I recall those pictures you had put up of your apartment! Can we say Architectual Digest??
  22. Having just bought a house to fix up and rent out as I am assuming you are, any website is not the way to go. Contact a realestate agent and have them put you on their email update list, giving them your location and pricing parameters. I get an email from four different agents every morning between 8:30 and 9:15 am with the new single/multi family foreclosed properties. If you want the contact information for the agents I use let me know.
  23. ^Care to elaborate further? (which museums are better, please do not say Akron) Once the center atrium is completed and the entire vision is constructed I think you will feel otherwise. Vinoyls idea of setting the 1916 Beaux Arts building as a diamond in an engagment ring is wonderful. Evocative of the age in which the museum was founded and why it is so strong today. Just my opinion.
