Deconcentrating Public Housing By Forcing it in Affluent Neighborhoods...Yes/No?
To answer the origional question, I don't think society should be responsible for moving one group of people anywhere based on any socio economic lines.

Amen to that.

Cleveland: Cleveland Museum of Art Expansion / Renovation
Hell yeah, best place in all of Ohio if you ask this guy! When they put the atrium over the courtyard it will knock the socks off of all those who come to visit. Rock and Roll Hall of Fame has NOTHING on the Museum of Art.

Cleveland: Warehouse District: Development and News
That ain't half bad, now if the city of cleveland could use more than one species of tree for every new planting (you know the one).

Cleveland: Crime & Safety Discussion
As far as I'm concerned the word "gangsta" was used by people in ethnic (italian/irish) neighborhoods of the east coast (and chicago obviously) long before Gucci Mane (among others) hit the scene. Though I agree with you MyTwoSense, they would run when confronted with a fist fight. Like my dad always said, why use guns what does that prove? It proves you don't respect your fellow man. Fight it out if you have something to prove, at least then (mostly) both parties live to see another day.

Cleveland: Crime & Safety Discussion
All these so called "bad asses" that kill using firearms (in most cases against an oponent with no weapon of equal capability) should be put in a forest and used as practice for the Army Rangers... see how they feel when they arent facing an unarmed opponent. Bet they won't be so tough and "gangsta". These punks are nothing but insecure *******. Key word, insecure.

Cleveland: Midtown: Development and News
Wow that is a pathetic response indeed. Foot in mouth TB! (knew that was going to happen) Can you post the message you sent him? What would you do with the site instead? (that would actually have momentum in this lending climate?)

Cleveland: Midtown: Development and News
$5 says people that oppose this project have A) not called or written city hall to express their views, or B) not tried to launch their own development. Opinions are convienent, doing something about it... well Obama hasn't made a program for to do that for us...yet. Euclid Corridor is long, this project is small in comparison. Cranes on Euclid OTHER than Cleveland Clinic, NOW THATS A PRECEDENT TO BE FOLLOWED. P.S., if you ask someone from my city of Shaker or any other Suburb for that matter, their perception of the area in question is already ROCK bottom... "ghetto, twisghlight zone, crack heads...."... *ANY* new consturction will help that... really how much worse could it get? While I honestly tend to agree with you Etheostoma, I am leaning on giving this a chance. Lets be honest, banks are using TARP funds to expand and buy out each other (PNC<Nat City) and there is still no reason to believe money will be made available in any large amount to gambling commercial developers... and I gotta believe putting some ritzy condos (what we all want) on Euclid and (fill in the blank cross street) in Cleveland, Ohio is about the last place a shy banker will put those funds, if and when they start to "trickle down". Just my opinion but I'm a college drop out so who knows.

Have to admit 8shades most recent post made me reconsider my thoughts on the project. Point taken.

Cleveland: Crime & Safety Discussion
A man raped and murdered a 16 year old girl... and because of liberal idiots I have been paying to keep this guy alive for the past 20 years? Imagine the thoughts going through her head as she died... but its OK, we should vote Democrat so we can protect these great people. Maybe there just wasn't enough welfare for him. Daryl Durr I hope you burn in hell.

Miscellaneous Ohio Political News
It is a recession, and Cleveland has been hit hard. There are literally people with PHDs begging for work. Now Rokakis wants to put together a half decent idea for a county wide land bank... and somehow thinks we need to pay the leader $142k of public money with a platinum pension plan... not to mention it his current Deputy!!! Kick back spawning ground??? WAKE UP CUYAHOGA COUNTY YOUR GOVERNMENT IS RAPING YOU IN FRONT OF YOUR FACE. How did Rokakis defend this salary price point and his selection (im sure his search was real sweeping: who will pay me under the table?) He said that, "he has a background in law which will make him well suited for this position". WOW... a law degree... there's a rarity... I think there are more law degrees these days than toilet paper. Rant over.

2010 Gubernatorial Election
Needless to say I declined. All the candidates suck... as usual.

2010 Gubernatorial Election
I was just contacted by Lee Fishers office to work on the campaign given my past experience... he lives a block from me in Shaker and I can personally say that very few people have leached off of public money for as long as that man. I wish his family the best but Fisher is case in point a typical liberal leach on honest working peoples money.

Finally: NYT publishes an article worth the paper it is printed on.
I pulled this quote from this article about the Ghery arena in BK that failed to come to fruition, its a great article over all about what architecture is and should be: "But what’s most offensive about the design is the message it sends to New Yorkers. Architecture, we are being told, is something decorative and expendable, a luxury we can afford only in good times, or if we happen to be very rich. What’s most important is to build, no matter how thoughtless or dehumanizing the results. It is the kind of logic that kills cities — and that has been poisoning this one for decades." Do we have interior renderings? Roof top decks?

Cleveland: Filling in Euclid Avenue
I agree with MidTown Inc. dude, we can find a better address... think about the location for the new juvi housing center in the forgotten triangle near MLK and Woodhill. Don't they have a brownfield over there I remember hearing some guy wanted to develop, get federal money to clean the brownfield and stimulus money to build the thing. Done.

P.S. the previous owner who tried to screw me was Donna Tullar from InvesTuscon LLC from Arizona... don't to business with those schemers. I will make A POINT of being there the day her company is called before E. Cleveland Housing Dept... bring some pop corn and enjoy the fireworks.
