Cleveland Cavs Discussion
Telfair is playing quite nicely... not nearly as rusty as I would have supposed he would be.

Cleveland - '95, '96, '97. A look back at three major sports events
The only thing I don't miss about this time period is Mayor White... I think we have a much more honorable man in the Mayor's office at this point in time.

I did receive an email last night from my recruiter informing me it was not acceptable and would have to redo. :( Maybe this time I should not wear an orange t-shirt? @GC, the people at MEPS didn't look at my MOS and as such didn't know (neither did I) that it was required in my background submission, I took it at home when my recruited told me I needed one. @rich I am doing a delayed entry program as an 11x option 40 airborne ranger which along with a few other M.O.S.'s needs a higher security clearance. They said it was part of my background check and will be included in my profile. They also take your picture again now when you are issued your oath of enlistment at MEPS for what its worth. p.s. did you have to run around in a room half naked with 30 other men 9 years ago as well?? I am guessing not much has changed... lol!

The Ohio State University Buckeyes Basketball Discussion
A very impressive class, consensus #2, including the high school POY Naismith Winner Jared Sulinger. I would have loved to have Turner stay but in all fairness to Mr. Turner, he had nothing to gain (national title not withstanding) and EVERYTHING to lose. He is a top 3 pick NO questions asked and possibly 1, certainly 2, maybe 3 pick in the lottery. I wish him all the luck in the world, William Bufford will surprise people next year, the man is one HELL of a scorer and has excellent defense... he will lead the team in scoring, incoming "pure" point guard Aaron Craft will handle the play calling, Lauderdale and Sulinger will rotate down low... not to mention the added stud that is Deshaun Thomas... All-in-all the incoming class features 4 of ESPN's top 100 recruits and 2 McDonalds All-American selections... of which Jared Sulinger was named the Mickey-D's game MVP. Things could be worse...

Cleveland: University Circle: Uptown (UARD)
^Agreed. Those who oppose progress for the city at large, especially a project that will help capitalize on arguably Ohio's most under utilized asset (the cultural mecca that is UC) are quite frankly selfish. Foolish selfish people too. They above all others stand to gain the most in increased market value of their property, vibrancy of their neighborhood, increased amenities in the form of shopping (hopefully as others have pointed out a grocery store) and yet another high caliber cultural tenant in MOCA. I really don't understand these people... would they prefer parking lots and vestibules of blight??

OSU: New Ohio Union and parking garage
What does that mean? Go to Sloppy Donkey, The O Patio, Sloopy's, other typical campus bars and you'll see exactly what that means. And take a walk down E 15th if you can stomach it. Back on topic, I like the inside better than the outside, but that's an improvement too. I'm happy with the new union, just wish it were built when I was a student. I lived on 15th and Indianola and gaging your comments, most specifically about 15th, it seems you have an axe to grind with the Greek community... sounds like a typical remark that I've heard so many times. Did you get beat up by frat boys on 15th or something??

Is UrbanOhio addicting?
If I am bored/free I reply to things I normally would not, as I have been the past two months or so I bet my post/day rate has sky rocketed. I have gone a few months and not checked UO though.

What other internet forums do you belong to?
I went to Edgewater park with my dog yesterday for a few hours, while there I ran into a guy who was taking pictures of the skyline. We started talking and I told him about of a few of the towers, aprox. heights, history etc... he was kind of a dick in that he didn't believe me. (Terminal Tower being selected by Stalin to be the template for the Moscow Uni tower... things like that) I was like, this guy probably has no idea the kind of interest I have in this topic and the amount of useless information I have upstairs. This got me thinking about how many people you walk past everyday that have alter egos online. Not to say they are different people online but some people you know probably belong to forums you might not ever expect, like most people that know me would have no idea about some of my associations on the net. So where do you post? Myself: UO, obviously SSP, SSC FerrariChat.com : Ferrari owners and enthusiasts BuckeyePlanet.com : OSU recruiting and sports Bleecherreport.com : sports in general MilitaryPhotos.net : Military photography and military in general You?

mmmm dinner- Baseball Re-alignment
But then again I am sure there are cities out there that aren't huge that "support" teams... they would have an advantage with regards to farm teaming... I would like it if we offered Cuba an olive branch and baseball could be a part of that by establishing a team in Havana... NOW THAT would we legit.- Baseball Re-alignment
No offense to PR but I don't think they could support a team, not because of lack of interest but rather the type of ticket prices that MLB teams command... add up average ticket price x 40k x 81=total $ spent on tickets by fans... Average ticket price is around 27... making that number $87,480,000.00 PR GDP is around $67 Billion where as NEO is more than 1/3 of Ohios GDP which is almost $500 Billion... So PR would have to spend 3x+, percentage wise, of their GDP to support a team...- Cleveland - '95, '96, '97. A look back at three major sports events
