Wow! I didn't see Las Vegas getting doubled up. I'm also surprised about the Florida destinations. Winter will be ending soon (hopefully) so it just doesn't make much sense to add that many flights to Florida right now. I guess they are expecting the cutbacks from Delta to really help them. The new service to Atlanta doesn't surprise me, they are building up there. I am kinda surprised that they didn't add O'hare though.

Allegiant flies to Jacksonville twice per week but I get what you're saying. The frequency just isn't there. The good thing with Frontier is they seem to announce most new year round flights as daily now. I'm thinking that these new routes won't just be the traditional leisure routes. They are having a large build up at O'hare so that is an option.

In regard to the subsidies thing, Columbus Dispatch had this on their blog: "Andrew Watterson, Southwest's senior vice president of network and revenue management, told me he's confident the 200 or so passengers traveling daily between Columbus and the San Francisco Bay Area via connecting flights will provide a good base for nonstop service to the region, the first since Skybus Airlines Inc. discontinued the route early in the former low-cost carrier's ill-fated life. "We only do (revenue guarantees) when we feel like it's a really good opportunity and we won't need it," Watterson said after he announced the new service Thursday morning alongside Columbus Mayor Michael Coleman."

^Translation: "Other things I'd like to see are a Seattle non-stop on Alaska or Delta, a real Ultra Low Cost Carrier to come into the market like Frontier or Spirit, JetBlue to return with flights to Boston to compete with Delta, or the ultimate long-shot of British Airways/American service to London-Heathrow."

I think you are over reacting. This latest wave of expansion by Allegiant only shows that they are moving into mid-size cities. They even said in the Q3 conference call that they are loving the way CVG is working out. The price differences between IND and CVG for Allegiant flights won't be enough for one market to draw from the other. The only thing that might make a difference will be the destinations that are being served and it's pretty obvious that CVG currently has the upper hand there.
