That would mean that the rankings are just what people think the team should be ranked. They are not based on a performance that matters. Using the previous years performance and summer practices to guess what a school will be like is laughable. OSU provides a stellar example, they go and play a hard fought game against Texas but lose then they open this year against a very mediocore Navy team and nearly get beat. Preseason rankings shouldn't even be considered. As for being the weakest. It's commonly stated that the SEC is the toughest conference correct? Since the realignment in 2005, the BE is 7-4 against the SEC, 3-4 against the Pac-10, tied at 19-19 against the ACC, 8-4 against the Big 12, 5-13 against the Big Ten, and 69-14 against non-AQ teams (not including I-AA). If the Big East is that weak then it does not bode well for the SEC, ACC, and Big 12 while the Pac-10 has very little bragging room.

^ Take away the starting quarterbacks on most teams and they won't do near as good. That includes all the teams in the top 25. That doesn't mean that they shouldn't find a way to win games. THAT is exactly what UC did last year.

Wow, aren't we vain. my comment has nothing to do with you personally, and instead to do with most of the UC fans that i've met down here. Until last year (maybe the year before) they were OSU fans. Now that UC has a team they're jumping on the bandwagon as fast as they can. I believe in loyalty to a team. I have one team that i root for (happens to be my alma mater) in college, one in the NFL, MLB, NHL and NBA. I don't believe in divided loyalties and i have strong feelings about people that didn't go to a school talking trash. I didn't hate Ohio State nearly as much until i moved here and everyone i met told me how much they hated Michigan when they found out i lived there. They're worse than Michigan fans down here. That's just silly. You shouldn't dislike a team just because it starts doing good and they are actually attracting fans. I'm sure that when Michigan State was doing good last year the bandwagon started filling up. That's what happens with every team, no matter where they are from. I never said that UC will go to the National Championship but I really really want them too. I understand that the big schools have the history that UC doesn't but don't get upset just because they have a shot. I never went to OSU or UC and don't really believe that I need to just to become a fan. I like OSU because they have always represented my home state and UC represents my home region (don't act like all of you don't do the same thing). Plus, I try and not let myself refer to my favorite sports teams as "we" or "us", I try and give the team the credit by using "they".

#1 Florida, #2 Texas, #8 Cincinnati, #9 Ohio State, #10 TCU, #14 Penn State, #16 Kansas, #17 Auburn, #19 Oklahoma, #20 Ole Miss, #21 Nebraska, #24 Mizzou. All of these teams have either lost to a ranked team (twice for Oklahoma) or just haven't played one yet (Cincy plays #23 South Florida in week 7). According to diaspora and Clefan98 none of them deserve their rankings right? This is one of the reasons i don't like either team. I don't typically care to comment...but, i do think that it's ridiculous that UC is ranked so high after playing a pretty lousy schedule. If this thread is only for boosters, then i'll stay out of it. I didn't know criticism would be taken so poorly. So you don't like either team because I root for both of them? Then why are you talking about the Ohio teams? Plus, UC has won all of their games pretty straight forward while OSU barely escaped Navy and lost to USC. I root for both teams but UC comes first.

They barely pulled out a victory but a win is a win. 3-1 and tied for first in the division. WHO DEY!!

Wow! That was a little too close for my liking.

It was a fun game. It got a little scary with Miami nearly putting up another score to make it close but Cincy did what needed to be done and got the ball and shut them down.

I can't wait to see the Bengals lay the smack down on the Browns!
