Running / Jogging Thread
Now that the weather is finally getting back to my type of running weather I'm getting back to it. Monday I ran for about 2 miles and it nearly killed me. Today I decided to add about another half mile and I wasn't feeling much better when I got back. I did find out that if your going to run in Hamilton, be sure to keep an eye peeled for dogs. Those suckers pop up out of nowhere.

University of Cincinnati Bearcats Basketball Discussion
I Don't know if he is right but I do think that the guy who does the Bracketology thing is either blind or just stupid. There are much better teams than what he has on his bracket. Here is a link to it if you haven't seen it. http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/bracketology Cronin: Big East's 8th-place team would win A-10 With a 7-5 Big East record, UC coach Mick Cronin is feeling his oats a little bit. One night after suggesting that a 7-5 record in the Big East is better than a 10-2 mark in C-USA, Cronin declared that Syracuse, the eighth-place team in the Big East, would win the Atlantic 10. When I informed Cronin that Joe Lunardi, who does the Bracketology feature on ESPN.com, currently had only seven Big East teams in the NCAA Tournament, Cronin said, “That’s ridiculous.” “I would tell Joe Lunardi he needs to buy the ESPN Full Court package,” Cronin said. “Are you telling me that Syracuse wouldn’t win the A-10? Does somebody want to give me that answer? I’d like to have that argument with somebody. You’re going to tell me that Syracuse, with their McDonald’s All-Americans and their talent, wouldn’t win the Atlantic 10? “So how many are they going to have from that conference or Conference USA? They’re eighth in our conference. That’s our eighth-place team right now. For us not to get at least eight this year is only a byproduct of us beating up on each other and being penalized for having too good of a conference.”

Whatcha Reading?
I'm currently reading "The Modern Middle East: A History" by James Gelvin. I'm a history buff so I enjoy reading books like this just as much as I enjoy Tom Clancy (my favorite author) novels.

The Bearcats win third straight against St. John's making them 7-5 in the Big East and 17-8 overall. Beating #4 Pitt this Saturday will go a long way in saying how much they deserve to be in the tourney. Hamilton! - Gallery 14 - Historic Images of City Life and Atmospheres
Wow! I'm really glad I moved to Hamilton now. Don't get me wrong, I liked it before but I had no idea it had so much history. I love this picture. I just makes the city look alive.

Cincinnati: Downtown: The Banks
It's probably going to happen. How long it will take and if it will live up to the promise are a couple I can't answer. Yeah. The concrete pilings, multiple cranes, and general construction equipment by the river are probably for the Banks. Not sure though. I'll be out of state this weekend but I'll try to go back down there Monday and get some new pics if it isn't raining.

I really like this year's recruiting class. I can't wait to see how much better the recruiting gets in years to come. I think in a few more years UC will be stealing some of the higher rated players from the bigger schools and will definitely be competing in the national title race.

NFL: General News & Discussion
I hate the Steeler's. Why couldn't the Cardinal's just have won. Life would have been so much better, at least until next season.

^ I agree. I love watching the SB no matter what teams are playing and I'm sincerely hoping that the Steelers get destroyed.

Cincinnati: Downtown: The Banks
These are just a couple of pics that I took today with my simple digital camera. The first is from the top of Carew. I've never been up there before today. It was pretty sweet. The second is the platform that is raising to street level as has been mentioned. I think it's pretty obvious that the columns are the supports for the new street. They line up perfect.

^ I've never bought into the Nostradamus thing but if the poem is being quoted then it sounds like he was just pointing out the targets of the attack. Not so much all the damage.

Crematorium
I worked near a crematorium once and I never noticed the slightest smell. Having said that, I would never really care what happens to my body. I'd prefer to have all my good organs donated and the rest donated to research or something. If not, do whatever, I'll be dead, I won't notice.

I think everybody is just wanting the season to end. The only football game that I'm looking forward to anymore is the Orange Bowl with the Bearcats.

Please tell me you have no family ties to Milwaukee...I know some McCanns here that scare the crap out of me. I don't know of any relation in Milwaukee but I can't say that some of my own family doesn't scare me. We can be an odd bunch of people at times.

The Ohio State University Buckeyes Football Discussion
^ Even in a national title it wouldn't be close. Undefeated or not, neither Boise nor Utah has near the fan base that either OSU or Texas has and wouldn't draw near as many people to watch the game. However, I do agree that there should be a playoff system. This whole BCS thing is a joke.
