New York City November 11th-14th. need ideas...
I vote Carl's Steaks on 3rd and.. 34th I think. Drop a "0" from the end of your budget, but walk away happy!

Yeah, they're just recladding it with aluminum panels. They will be the exact same colors. There's actually a sculptural type full-scale mock-up on the lawn to the north of the building, along MLK. It has a few different options the school was considering to use as re-cladding.

You called me a Platano, and on the way home, one almost ran me over,. I think you cursed me! I say send them all back to their country and fast! :whip: :whip: You clearly aren't a baseball fan. Yo soy un fanatico del beisbol, pero no me fio de Platanos! Los jugadores no pueden probar que su edad y ellos son todos usando los esteroides! Sucios! Why the Espanol? I thought it was common knowledge that I can only speak American and Korean! Although Queens is starting to rub off on me, it's only a matter of time before I start speaking it accidentally.

Cincinnati: Downtown: Queen City Square
It would be nice if ESPN updated the stock footage they use for all the city shots. I think our city's footage is a few years old. I think it was for a UC Thursday night game this year that didn't have QCS II under any kind of construction or any Banks progress in the footage. There was a blimp at the Bengals game last Sunday getting live shots. I would think for a Monday night game they would get a blimp or at least a few live shots. MNF is a pretty big deal.

^ How about $4? Two Bros Pizza is a couple blocks away from Times Square on 41st and 9th, for that diner-on-a-budget.

Cincinnati Streetcar / The Connector News
I voted pretty similarly, and I campaigned for the streetcar. Something about being the exception, not the rule, comes to mind.... No, something about correlation not causation perhaps does? I voted pretty similarly, and I campaigned for the streetcar. Hmm- Considering Chabot said he would never seek federal support for the streetcar, Monzel is completely against it, and Kasich said the state would not support it (ie. no applications for federal grants) I'm guessing you meant you supported everyone other than these guys? Despite being a strong supporter of the streetcar, I try not to let one thing dominate my decision making process. None of those guys can stop the progress on the streetcar, anyway.

Well, in all fairness if the Republicans don't get a majority in the house and stop the Democrats from ruining the country, those employees probably will fall on hard times, as will all of is. I mean, let's be real here.

^ That steakhouse isn't very good. The falafel cart a block west of it is where it's at. When's the last time you were in Astoria? I haven't noticed the yuppies, although I have started to see a few hipsters here and there. Hipsters are the only group of people I can't stand having around. I don't even go to Brooklyn anymore.

^ It is about 1000 times better than the new signs everything in the Gateway Quarter so far has had to put up. They're tiny and all the same. Look at any historic photo of OTR, the scale and variety of the signs are half of what makes the place look so vibrant.

2010 Gubernatorial Election
I see, but that would not have even been close to the craziest thing I've seen him claim on here.

2010 Gubernatorial Election
That whole ball of wax stemmed from him living with his Chief-of-Staff, who was also on his payroll at the time. That's why he was scrutinized. It was totally inappropriate whether they're gay or not. He continues to get this guy high paying positions through his business connections. Keep the sleeze in the gutter. Yeah but we're not talking about John Kasich knowing what happened to Chandra Levy. Haha, what?! Her murderer just got arrested last week. It wasn't Kasich or Boehner or whoever you're trying to claim knows what happened.

Cincinnati: Clifton Heights: U Square @ the Loop
Slightly off-topic, but all the roads around this development were scraped and resurfaced about 1-2 months ago. They stopped before putting the top layer on, and striped all the lanes. The manhole covers are poking out everywhere. Anyone know why they didn't put the top layer on? Or if they will before winter gets here? It'll be impossible to plow with the manholes poking up like that.

That's where you're wrong, Astoria is paradise for a couple of young white people! (which I think is what they are? I could be wrong) I guess I have my biases, though. Harlem would be better than Jackson Heights, though. I dated a girl that lived off that stop.. that place can be a shitshow at times.

DUI law in this country is extremely ridiculous on almost all accounts. There's no better example of the state exploiting a real issue (drunk driving can kill) to just make money.

That could result in something pretty neat, like the Hearst Tower in NYC: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hearst_Tower_%28New_York_City%29

Ha I knew I'd get a rise out of you on that one. Bazinga!! ;) Are you saying to take the M60 bus from LaGuardia? Goggle Maps disagrees. The M60 goes through Queens to Harlem. Nowhere near Midtown, and the train connections dont work either. So, I think the Q33 will get me to Rockefeller Center much faster. Oh...so now you're an expert? HUMPH! I take the bus all the time. You're back tracking. The M60 travels EAST, right past the N/R which would let you off in midtown at 49 Street/B'way, two short blocks from Rock Center. Even if you went thru harlem it would connect you to the 2/3 (2 short blocks from Rock Ctr.) or B/D which are directly under rock Ctr. It's very Guadalajara where the Q33 connects. There are always delays on the E/F/N/R lines from Queens. Heh, I was going to say the same thing. I would suggest taking the M60, but to Astoria Blvd. and take the N/Q to Manhattan. The N/Q is much more reliable than the F, and a tourist would feel much more comfortable in Astoria than Harlem or Jackson Heights/Woodsid/wherever the 33 goes. I strongly suggest the M60 to the N/Q. Plus, the N/Q provides a picturesque view out the right side windows on the approach to Manhattan, since it's elevated. It's a great way to go into the city.

I like 5/3. I feel the verticality of the facade is perfect against a large open space like Fountain Square. Not to mention, it's really one of the only skyscrapers in Cincinnati that emphasizes the verticals over the horizontals. I think it's Cincinnati's best example of a modern international style skyscraper.

2010 Gubernatorial Election
NPR leans farther to the left than anything else on the radio, so I can see why Kasich wouldn't want to take calls from their listeners, especially when NPR blindsides him like that. He also has a pretty comfortable lead right now, so there's no point in taking the risk. It's politics 101, really.

^ Maybe you just need to convince your neighbors to vote for a Congressman that's worth a darn, and can actually do his job of representing his district. ;) Kucinich is just silly.

just put the spinning clock on top of the new tower, problem solved. Or you could put it in the birdcage and turn it into a lighthouse of sorts. I'm for this idea, 100%

Cincinnati Bengals Discussion
They looked like the other Ohio team during the first half, and then started to look like the Bengals we've been used to during the second half. That fumble by Benson was the turning point. Without that, it'd probably be the same score, but with the Bengals on top.

The spinning clock is kind of a landmark. Granted, a new tower would be nice, but I'll miss that clock.
