Well there's some truth to that, he did set a lot of transit policy for decades, although it was some terrible, terrible policy.

Cincinnati: Downtown: Queen City Square
I think the pig-on-a-pedestal idea has more potential than the princess crown. Especially if you're going to be designing around such literal interpretations of conception.

A Better Cincinnati Metro
I’m not a big fan of BRT, the investment in separate lanes and infrastructure would be better spent on rail elsewhere. What Metro needs is much simpler, 1/2 as many stops, much larger signs at the 1/2 that stay, and a map at every stop. They also need a little redesign, including a better map and a better website. 1/2 as many stops might not even be the answer, it might need to be 1/3 or 1/4. Within the one block of UC’s campus on Clifton Ave. there are 5 or 6 stops. There something like 150 feet apart. It’s no wonder the only signs they can afford are 6x8” or whatever tiny size they are...

ESPN: What's Lurking in Your Stadium Food?
This article was obviously written by somebody angry at the Reds domination of NL Central, so I'm dismissing it on all accounts and getting all you can eat seats the next trip I make to GABP.

Cincinnati: Downtown: Queen City Square
This picture makes me laugh! :-D you guys understand the metaphor and symbolism, right? Diana was to be the Queen of England......We are the Queen City. thats the connection But she never was Queen, only a princess. If we really want to delve into the metaphor, the City of Cincinnati is going to come to a horrific end before it ever truly becomes a Queen City.

^ Yeah, the building should be turned to face Hamilton Avenue. There are parking requirements, of course, but it should be kept within the interior of the block.

Cincinnati Bengals Discussion
T.O. and Ocho Cinco on the field at the same time would be a deadly combination. It would force a unique defensive strategy by the opposing team, as most secondaries shade toward the number one receiver or double team the number one receiver during passing situations. While it wouldn’t be the first time a team has two receivers that could both be number one guys, it would be the first time a team has had two receivers that are each arguable able to be the best in the league.

^ I think Leis lost some following after his proposed jail tax, ala the COAST comment. If it was Sheriff Jones of Butler County, on the other hand, coming out and complimenting Cincinnati's plan, he'd bring a hoard of supporters.

The parking garage is adjacent/beneath it.

Photography/Photoshop tips and tricks?
This site has pretty decent reviews on lenses: http://www.the-digital-picture.com/Reviews/Canon-EF-28-135mm-f-3.5-5.6-IS-USM-Lens-Review.aspx Personally, I find 28mm to not be wide enough for the style of shots I like to take, but if you have the 18-55 in addition to it you should be fine.

Cincinnati: Downtown: Fort Washington Way Cap
Well, it is a really pretty drive now that I think about it. Cincy first appears as you come down the cut in the hill, and then 2 minutes later (traffic depending) you're cruising right beneath it, with the skyline towering above you. There's a book titled "Zoomscape" that talks about that very experience and how much of an impact it has on our spatial awareness and memory of a place.

A Central Parkway route wouldn't work because the weight limits on Central are too low due to the subway tunnels. Although, I lived just west of the UC campus near Probasco and Marshall to Central Parkway was the way I always took to get downtown. Backwards or not, it was the quickest way to get there.

It was supposed to be a Walgreens a few years ago right?, I'm not sure what happened to that plan. And it used to be a lumber yard, I believe.

^ Nice. I love how it's just as wide as the SWFC, but 1/3 the height. It's quite the chode of a tower. (Am I allowed to say that here?)

105° in and around downtown Dayton*
If I'm correct, I spot a total of 1 person outside in all those pictures, and he's on a construction site so he has to be out. Wimps, it was 103 (actual, not heat index) in NYC 2 weeks ago and I had a softball game!

General Roads & Highway Discussion (History, etc)
^ Yes, if every city followed "A Pattern Language," we would have very dull cities, in my opinion. It's the break from the pattern that creates diversity in form, space, and order, a diversity that more closely represents how people live than do the subtle Utopian undertones of new urbanism.

Chicago gets Destroyed
The amount of times my plans have been disrupted because of Gossip Girl filmings in Queens is beyond belief. Transformers, on the other hand, is something I wouldn't mind them closing down a few streets around me for. Neat shots. GG filmed in Queens? When was this? Are you sure that wasn't ugly betty? I very well could have been mixing up my teenage girl TV shows. The girl I was with at the time seemed to think it was Gossip Girl, but she wasn't very bright. This was two years ago.

Cincinnati: Downtown: The Banks
Come on, a coney in one hand and a Hudy Delight in the other? In a brand new "The Banks" Gold Star Bar? I think heavenly is the word one would use to describe that.

Cincinnati: Downtown: The Banks
Dewey's is so overrated. Hopefully it's a LaRosa's or a Gold Star flagship store. Skyline, Graeters, etc. all have their downtown locations already, so shifting from there to the Banks wouldn't be a net gain at all. Also, LaRosa's is only marginally better than Dewey's. Adriatico's is the best pizza in Cincy.

General Roads & Highway Discussion (History, etc)
A lot of the problems lie with zoning laws, and unfortunately most cities are doing the exact opposite of what should be done - relaxing those laws, or taking a side step with form based codes; which ultimately replace bulky, overpowering zoning codes with slightly different bulkier, overpowering zoning codes. Remember, when these beautiful, historic urban areas were built they weren't governed by anything in comparison to what has to be gone through today, and they turned out just fine. In fact, they turned out a lot better...
