Does anyone know the story behind these Prospect Ave. beauties? When were they built, why weren't more built?

Cleveland: University Circle (General): Development and News
What's the likelihood that my alma-mater, Glenville High School, which probably has one of the longest lists of prominent graduates in the city, if not the state, gets anything? While I was there (late 80's-early 90's,) Glenville had the largest AP program in the district. Now? Nothing. Athletically, Glenville is the face of the Cleveland Public Schools, having won the most track & field, football and girls' basketball titles in the city. The school has been sorely neglected. Screw the councilman who does nothing for the community!

Cleveland: Hotels, Conventions, and Tourism News & Info
I see a hotel tower for an additional 300 rooms, allowing it to rival the Hilton. Just give it 6 months and we'll hear an announcement.

Cleveland: Marketing the City
ok, go with the Forest City, lol. Let's see how that works. I think a medical theme makes sense. Let's agree to disagree, by the way, United States Steel Corp. is still located and makes steel in Pittsburgh, while Forest City Enterprises continues to move their business out of the city.

Cleveland: Marketing the City
But, honestly, driving through Cleveland, no one thinks Forest City anymore, far from it. Using a "name" that no longer applies isn't useful. Chicago is still the City of Big Shoulders, its politics still make it "Windy." NYC, still never sleeps, it is the Empire City. San Francisco is still the Golden Gate City etc. Portland is the Forest City, maybe even Sacremento, but Cleveland can't call itself something that it's not, since the only reason it was called the Forest City (1830's) is because it wasn't yet fully developed as a metropolis. Cleveland needs to build on its medical reputation. The Greek god, Asclepius [uh-sklee-pee-uh s], comes to mind, not only was he the god of Healing and Medicine, he also brought people back to life, how fitting for a city near death to utilize the name of the healer. I kinda like CLE being present in the name. It would be a cool name for a condo highrise, hotel or even exclusive urban neighborhood. The Asclepian Hotel, Asclepian Hts subdivision, or The Asclepius as a condo tower all sound cool. Asclepian Way would be cool for the Opportunity Corridor or renaming Chester Ave. Just my thoughts...

Cleveland: Downtown: nuCLEus
Considering zoning approval, financing and design, what do you think is the probability of NuCLEus happening. Is financing shaky? I thought it was a pretty wrapped up deal. Cleveland skyline and urban scene really need this kind of boost. The building might spur a Gateway neighborhood of modern medium and high rise residential towers.

Cleveland: Downtown: nuCLEus
I've been thinking the same thing. A project of this scale would seem to run from at least $750M to $1B, esp in a dense, urban major downtown... IIRC, FEB's Phase I alone (the E&Y 21-story tower plus the Aloft Hotel) was around $300M. Yeah something is fishy about this. Can someone explain the low budgets projections? I would have thought at least 500million on the low end. Seems quite odd!

Cleveland: Downtown: nuCLEus
Am I the only one thinking the budget for the mega project seems quite low, while offering so much. A world-class, cutting edge designed 500 ft tower, hotel, shopping and restaurants, all for under 300 million dollars?

Cleveland: Downtown: nuCLEus
The massing is too tall, but i love seeing the creativity. The Ren Cen is much larger in scope with five buildings: 727, 522, 522, 522, and 522ft respectively. I'd love a 527 ft hotel/apt tower with four 322ft towers

Why are news channels reporting it will be the third tallest building downtown. At 500 feet, it will be 5th, right?

Cleveland: Downtown: Tower City / Riverview Development
Tower City would work well for large outlets and box-type stores. A Nordtrom's Rac, a Bed Bath and Beyond, a Best Buy, and Target. Add in a few big chain restaurants (TGIF and Cheesecake Factory, Maggiono's and you have a niche filled.

I wish we the The Med-Mart and The Hilton could switch location for skyline reason. The Hilton, it seems, will be obscure from many vantage points.

Cleveland Cavs Discussion
Cleveland is enjoying the decision this time around because we see Miami in the hotseat and with nervous fear. I think most CAVS fans know that it is a chance he goes back to Miami and it is business as we've known it. We Cavs fans know that he has made no promises, isn't currently playing for us and has no true obligation; we would love for him to make it all right, but I think we simply enjoy that he is putting Miami through what we went through, since they were so smug and pompous the first go round.
