  1. I was just reading the Miami Herald and almost spit out my drink. One of the Miami Heat fans said, " Why would Lebron do back to Cleveland when he has all of this here in Miami, come on Cleveland is just....Cleveland" Seriously, Cleveland isn't using "Cleveland is just Cleveland" as a slogan is it?

i would go after Monroe too!
  3. I find it repulsive that there are message boards setup to breed racism!
  4. Buy in Cleveland!!!!! Not the burbs!
  5. Not very cosmopolitan, but I've heard that Omaha has building 15-20 stories underground; that it would be the new capital if US was attacked from the East. No lie!

I hope we are not thinking of renting Kevin Love for one year. Unless we get him to sign for an additional 3-4 years. HELL NO!!!!!!!!!!! Go after Lebron or someone we can sign to a max deal for many years. No rentals. Any of the three can help immediately, Wiggins, Parker or Embiid.

I wish we could draw an Asian community that would demand such commercial space!
  8. mjarboe, Michelle, thank you for always keeping us abreast on Cleveland.com. Though it takes every once of patience to read through ignorant comments(I wish the PD would turn of the message boards), you make sure we get the real story. I commend you for staying positive and thanks again for all of the work that you do!
  9. April fools

Awful, lacking diversity, lacks shots of university circle, lacking soul. Cleveland's worst enemy has always been its residence. Unfortunately, this was not a shot in the arm. By-the-way, the whole bonjovi, Bruce Springsteen rock vibe is tired. I like the others posters idea, Welcome Home or Come on home theme.

  12. hmmm, Cincinnati is less urban than I thought.

Wow, Urbanohio is turning into Cleveland.com....disgusting
  14. Hate this to be in bad form, but do you think Peter Lewis will leave a substantial gift for Case Western or the City of cleveland?

  16. I love European pedestrian plazas, like in Prague, Krakow, Munich.....but they all have ground level restaurants, stores......performers and street merchants.
  17. Thank you, ClevelandOhio, the Mall is not seen as a meeting place. We must provide the food trucks, encourage the street performers, bring the concerts.....otherwise it will not happen organically........let's be real.
  18. People rarely take advantage of the mall as a meeting place anyway. In Washington, DC, The Mall is a gathering place, where people fly kites, gather for fireworks, play softball, kickball, flag football. The Cleveland Mall is just an open manicured space, more ornate than functional. Let's truly see it for what it is. Before the renovation and changes, the paths thru it provided a wonderful venue for street performers and food wagons. Unfortunately, that never came to fruition either. Let's face it, put in the attractions, and people will come. Otherwise, who goes downtown to sit on a grassy slope? Give people a reason to want to be there.....still waiting for all of the concerts.
  19. Can someone please find examples of a building that would mix well with the Burnham plan, that is 31 stories and houses a hotel. I am getting tired of hearing people bitch, but no one has posted anything that would be a perfect fit. Experts, show us an example!
  20. How about offering the Wolstein Center as a space for a Mega Church? Seriously, some of these church have congregations of 15,000 people.
  21. Would have been a great Superhero Museum, The Justice League
  22. The number has been 600+ since the beginning. Although vague, isn't the expectation a 650 room hotel?
  23. I addressed grocery stores within a short drive or transit ride. If you go to Baltimore's Inner Harbor, you have a food court inside of a pavilion, but those who live there do their shopping at grocery stores in the city, not at the harbor. We can agree to disagree, two different visions.
