  1. I just don't see a school or grocery store on the lakefront. It makes sense to build a huge grocery store and maybe even place a school in the dead areas along St. Clair or Lakeside below 30th. The lakefront is high end or entertainment based in my head. The condo/apt would be priced on the higher end.
  2. For the waterfront , i envision a recognizable chain sports restaurant venue (Champps, Hooters) , residential condo/apts, two tourist friendly recognizable chain restaurants ( Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville Bar & Grill and Cheesecake Factory) seasonal eateries and shops like "Honey Hut", "Slymann's , "Melt", " Hot Sauce Williams", a souvenir shop, bike rental shop, paddle boat shop) last a superhero/comic book museum.
  3. Laundromat and school, cheap restaurants and grocery store on the damn waterfront? Ok, this sounds more like Cleveland.com than urbanohio.com
  4. How I love St. Louis!!!!!!! Until this country sees the reemergence of it's original cities of growth, it will be nothing! Cleveland, St. Louis, Cincinnati, Pittsburgh, Detroit, Buffalo, Baltimore, Gary RISE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  5. Sad that they find it laughable. How are you news anchors, yet know nothing about big projects going on in the city? I think I would have liked seeing a model apt, more than a lived in one with what looked like a sheet serving as curtains. Ijs
  6. The Rotunda would be such a cool Super Heroes Museum, Superman's Justice League! I could see a large bronze statue of Superman on the corner of 9th and Euclid!
  7. Case Western and Oberlin in the top 10, go greater Cleveland!
  8. The windows are so small, I can't see how this building will serve as an apartment/condo conversion; it's just a hideous structure.
  9. This is a pipe dream that cities with a lot of private money can accomplish....IT AINT HAPPENIN!
  10. Hey guys, some of you are really schooled on the Burnham, City Beautiful Plan. What would a modern day structure look like if it stayed true to the plan? How would you incorporate height? could you use glass and steel and stay true? I would assume building neo-classical today would cost a fortune.
  11. A Bavarian mural would be great on the side of the neighboring building, maybe one of Munich.
  12. The Rotunda on 9th and Euclid would be an awesome Justice League!!!!!
  13. I would live in NYC. Abroad-Berlin
  14. World 1. Prague 2.Berlin 3. Krakow 4. Dresden U.S. 1. Washington, DC 2. Chicago 3. Charleston 4. San Francisco 5. New York City Honorable Mention: Austin, Boston, Philadelphia, Cleveland
  15. This museum and plan seem so out of place. I thought midtown wanted to develop into more of a tech corridor. Just seems weird...
  16. Although closer to Cleveland, Pittsburgh seems to be more of a sister city to Cincinnati. While Cleveland to Detroit, is this a correction assertion. Maybe Columbus to Indianapolis?
  17. Pittsburgh's downtown is impressive and beautiful. Dense, tall and great mixture of architecture. Great pics!
  18. Love Palmer Park and Indian Village!
  19. The house with the the left facing and right facing Swastika's , very interesting find (two pics after the Gap outlet). I know the right facing is a Hindu symbol, but to have the mirrored left facing, truly a story behind that. I wonder when the house was built and were it's owner aware of the symbolism. If pre-World -War !!, i wonder what reaction it caused. :|

@NorthAndre, as an Ohioan, and Clevelander, I will continue to voice my opinion, I see you didn't press the back button.

NorthAndre, I have posted my neighborhood pics. I am not a distraction, I am a person who grew up on the east side of Cleveland, and day in and day out heard about my neighborhood in a negative light. I now appreciate posts on University Circle, Midtown and other great neighborhoods on the east side. My issue was with the thread title; it was misleading and in many cases not even Cleveland, but a neighboring inner suburb, East Cleveland. I checked out Zack's neighborhood and it was one I was familiar with and saw urban renewal, parks and new construction. My dislike is of Clevelanders taking pictures of Detroits blight and vice versa. UrbanOhio is for photographers, urban planners, and even me ,Glenville, a novice who discovered the page, loved it and posted only 60 posts. I have messaged Zach personally about the thread title...............
