  1. What are the most stable neighborhoods? Is the city improving or gentrifying? What are the best retail/ restaurant neighborhood centers: (Where are they located)? The last time I was in Cleveland I saw many nice neighborhood areas, but many parts of the retail/restaurant strips seemed like they were rundown and partially or half vacant. That concerned me because many cities have very vibrant neighborhood districts. Maybe I missed some of them. I don't know. I mean Little Italy and University Circle were nice and obviously downtown, but I wondered if there were more vibrant neighborhoods. It seems like too much of the vitality and wealth is in the suburbs. Is that true? Thanks for the info. :-)
  2. It is not a suburb of Cleveland. It is a distinct city onto itself.
  3. I have been searching all over the internet and still cannot find out what Dayton's current poverty rate is. Does anyone know? I heard that Dayton's poverty rate has dropped over 3.5% as of late.
  4. Is it Dayton, Toledo or Akron? How has the economy of those cities been lately? What might the future hold? I won't include Youngstown because we all know how bad their economy is.
  5. Thanks audidave. You gave me a lot of the type of info on Akron I was looking for.
  6. I appreciate the info. Chris. :-)
  7. I wasn't looking for anything in particular. I was just trying to find out what the most interesting neighborhoods in Akron were to visit. Where is the Portage Path/Twin Oaks area? Where is the Highland Square area?
  8. I thoroughly enjoyed viewing those pictures!!
  9. I would like to know what the best Akron neighborhoods to visit are dealing with ethnic areas, great architecture, history, nightlife, restaurants etc. I would appreciate the info. :-)
  10. Man, that is some wonderful news.
  11. Akron has to be one of the largest cities in the country without a sports arena. I think that if they built an arena downtown that it would help to revitalize the area like the Canal Park baseball field did. It would also give the residents of the city pride that they had their own hockey, indoor football or basketball team. I think the Akron market could support several sports teams. Why doesn't Akron have its own sports arena (is it too close to Cleveland?). Are there any proposals for an arena?
  12. Go Stillers!!
  13. I was wondering about the Cleveland MSA and CSA population figures. From 1990-2000 the CSA including Akron gained around 86,000, and I am not sure about the Cleveland MSA ( I think it held steady). What are the latest CSA and MSA populations? Is the economy of northeast Ohio improving? I have heard some postive stories.
  14. I will probably go to a couple of hockey games up there.
  15. Thanks for the links guys. :-)
  16. What are the components to Cleveland's lakefront plan? How much will it cost? Are there renderings? Is it like Chicago's lakefront? Will it happen or not in your opinion?
  17. I wanted your opinions as to which Cleveland suburbs have the best downtown areas. Are there any suburbs that are developing downtowns?
