Yeah, the problems with the MTS story above do not include the monitoring of company emails. That is fair game. Using it to blackmail, or send it to her husband? Wrong.

Shaker Heights: Van Aken District Transit Oriented Development
Thanks for the background. I'm primarily a Red Line west sider, but have recently used the Blue and Green for various family real estate needs out in Mentor and Solon. The RTA rail yard alone makes me want to take the trains east now. I recently took a Blue instead of Green out of TC, so I got off at 55th and watched the yard for awhile and missed the Green as I somehow entered a zombie like state...what a geek.

There certainly was no shame admitted in your post, so by sharing and making funny comments I assumed you were proud of your actions. Moving on.

Pet Peeves!
Bosses, especially obnoxious, overbearing, condescending, full-of-themselves, vindictive, arrogant, self-serving, malicious, loud, pompous, selfish, domineering bosses. I don't like them either! Luckily i've been blessed with some good bosses. Except for that whore in London. Tell us what you really think!!! Don't hold back! She was a slut. You don't sleep with employees below you and bait them with the promise of "career advancement". She was above me at the time, but she slept with one of the guys that reported to me. She tried that with me, unfortunately we don't play on the same team, (strike one for her) and I'm a calculating, manipulative, opportunist, so she set herself up for failure from jump. So I laid my trap and waited. I'm a very patient bitch. >:D While I waited for her to fall into my trap, I studied her family, professional contacts and noted miscellaneous habits. I knew she would slip and let her guard down. Since I rebuked her, She then would try to critique my work with a fine tooth comb, however, her boss (our European division Head) gave me a spot bonus for an environmental/image campaign that the prime minister and BH palace praised. I decide to develop a greater relationship with him. (strike two for her). So then he would come directly to me on projects, ask me to speak at staff meetings or ask how we would do something in North America. This cause problems between her and him. Then it was announced we'd have a staff function and families would be invited. Opportunity knocked. ;) and MTS answered. All during the outing, I picked her husbands brain. I then understood why she cheated, the man had the personality of a toothpick, the looks of, well lets just say he was he wasn't cute and he was about 15/16 years older than her. She was a straight up cougar. Skip to a few month later. It's review time. We have our meeting. I go into her office sit down and she comes to the side of the desk I'm sitting on and she has all my papers, etc. and says, "you came here on a VP fast track program, but quite frankly I don't think you VP material. What might have been acceptable in Cleveland is not ok in London. Good Ideas, but sloppy execution". She said this in a super condescending Kate Blanchett voice. She let me have it, but with no proof of poor performance. I asked, "do you have any proof of poor performance or are you blatantly going to ignore the positive comments of your boss, the PR team at large and other division heads about my work?" her response, "what they thinks doesn't matter" I say, "really now? Are we done here?" I knew she would say, 'Yes, would you like to say add anything?" I say "sure". I go to my office, get the emails between her and my employee (Yes...I check emails) and the pictures I'd aquired of them going into Lanesborough and Park Lane hotels arm and arm and showing affection, along with copies of hotel folios. I go back into her office, toss the folder on her desk, then I lean over her desk and got real close to her face and say, "I'm sure this is proof that I know how to execute!" (strike three, you're out) A few minutes later she was at my office and timed it perfectly that I would be departing for HR. She gagged. So I told my HR "source" what happened and unknown to me, another male employee complained about her advances. So with my information and this guy....she hung herself and I won!! I value my job. I'm not a bitch to tangle with. I play for keeps! So remember kids..... Oh... did I mention I sent copies of the pictures to her house. ;) There is nothing like a friendly reminder, of bad decision, that arrives at dinner time. Ok...no more....this is all stuff that's going to be in my book. I would not be proud of this.

Cleveland: 2009 Mayoral Election
Although I'm not a NYC resident, people say Giuliani was great. He only cared about big business not the neighborhoods, if it was above 96 street or the outer boros, he could have cared less. He only cared about the definite "haves" not the "up an comings" or "have nots". :weird:

2010 Gubernatorial Election
What specifically do you like about Kasich? I don't feel I know enough about what he wants to do. The "what I stand for" portion of his website consists of 6 sentences and basically tells me nothing about him. He's more of a fiscal conservative than any politician in Ohio. I hope he has future plans beyond the governors job.

2010 Gubernatorial Election
A real challenge for what nomination? You mean another Democrat to try to knock off Strickland in the primary? Who, and why? Yes, the Democratic primary and because he has been terrible. (like all our governors in my 20 years as a voter). Maybe another Dem can do a better job. Ohio has been getting killed by other states for too long.

I thought it was the Green because of it's proiximity to 271? The Blue ends at a place (Warr Rd/VA/Northfield/Chagrin) where extending it would logistically be tougher. Maybe not.

2010 Gubernatorial Election
Kasich is the best choice, by far. I think it is obvious the Strickland experiment should not be continued for a 2nd term. Perhaps the Dems can field a real challenge for the nomination, or does that just not happen?

Cleveland Browns Discussion
The Nolan/Strano weather report that we saw was on the jumbotron, I don't think it was on TV. Though I was hoping it was somehow. She was stumbling towards us after they were done in the east endzone and had to walk the length of the field to get to the exit by the west endzone.

Too bad Cleveland did not come up with a better candidate.

Peak Oil
Sounds good to me, I am always looking for ways to stay active. ;)

Peak Oil
While an efficient, desirable transportation system works best in a high density setting, that does not make living in a high density setting desirable. I don't feel guilty one bit and would promote suburban living as healthier, safer, and just plain old better. If oil is a problem, the best answer is not a move back to cities, but rather a more efficient way to power a personal vehicle.

Greater Cleveland RTA News & Discussion
Speaking for west side Red line, there is no speed up for rush hour service, (maybe even 10 seconds slower in AM). For those of us that use it on weekends and late evening, it IS faster because no one is paying as they get on train. How much faster, I am not sure. I remember waiting at stops several minutes as a line of people tried to pay, but don't know how big a problem that really was. On busier times on the weekends (like Browns games) they did have booth attendants at most stops, but not all, so it should be faster then too.

Is it wrong to live in a suburb and own an SUV? Why?

Cleveland Browns Discussion
Anyone at the game notice how drunk Hollie Strano appeared to be while doing the weather forecast on the field? Mark Nolan had to cut her off, then she stumbled off the field.

Correct. Have it handy, but just walk on through to the platform. Same with your Weekly. Once activated, it's good to the expiration time without scanning, except at Tower City.

Cleveland historic trolleys - staying or going?
What's the latest on this? I don't ride the east side rails very often, but I've noticed a bunch of old rail cars inside Tower City. Are these able to be restored, or will they be trashed eventually?
-
Greater Cleveland RTA News & Discussion
That's the steb backwards with the new system. If you are using a 5 ride or paying cash, you now have to pay/scan twice for a ride to Tower City. While I can only speak for west side/rush hour, it is probably a tad slower and a tad more aggravating in the morning. Evenings really have not changed, since you still just scan on the way in TC station like the old way. Non working fare machines and turnstiles will continue to be a problem I would guess, based on past experience with RTA technology. :( Monthly passes minimize the swipes and seem to scan better in the turnstiles, so that's the way to go if you ride RTA enough.

That is crazy. I sent my state rep and senator an email last year about funding, and only got one canned response.

Greater Cleveland RTA News & Discussion
Makes sense. Too bad RTA officials fell for some of the hype of the $4+ per-gallon-is-here-to-stay crowd. The price fell below $3.17 quite quickly, I think even before January 1st. But, I understand that kind of gamble happens all the time, with my business and most everyone else's. Has it been quantified how much of the budget deficit is due to overpaying for fuel?
