...aaaaand we are taking calls. Not many - mostly they've been outgoing calls to customers who need callbacks. I believe we have now taken three incoming calls, and are still working out the kinks - of which there are still plenty! :) I believe we are currently receiving something like 1-2% of the call volume here, until we are more up to speed. However, the point is - calls are coming in and being answered.

Yes, ma'am! Wildo! As soon as we, er...have some phones we'll get on 'em... In the mean time, we'll just have to survive with our marble floors, wood-panneled walls and no real work to do...poor us...

We're in! Kinda :) The build out of the office is pretty much complete, but we're waiting on the final inspection before we can move in. Which means that we have nine consultants working in temporary space, in Old Man Tyler's office :) Marble floors, glass-topped tables, air conditioning - nice! And I've got to say, now that we're here, I'm even more glad than ever that we held out for this space instead of the Downtown location that had been proposed. It's comfortable, it's beautiful, everything is great!

I visited the office today with Loreleif and my family - the first time I'd actually had a really good look around the place. The office itself is a wonderful space, bright, cheerful, a great place to work (as soon as we actually have telephones, at least). Almost as impressive was the building itself and the area around us. The view from our lobby, once we have new windows installed outside for us to view with, will be nothing short of spectacular. As for the location, we walked through the area with a toddler on my shoulders and never once felt even the slightest hint of worry. It was as far from what some people had led me to expect of the area as could be imagined - quite frankly, I love it, and I'm proud to be working in Tyler Village starting on Monday!

Quite a bit! I was walking around the office today with Mr. Chips, Loreleif and family. We've got an extremely cool office space to work in - brand new, very comfortable, spacious, well-lit and really great furniture :) The only thing we don't seem to have is telephones. Yeah, still working that one out... :?

In our case, if you don't know the answer you have plenty of options. You can call anyone else who is qualified in the application for assistance - you can find them pretty easily with our phone system; if you're totally stuck, you can call them and pass the call over to them so they can take over; if nobody is available and you're desperate, you can park the call and it will be given to the next available consultant; and you can always break with the customer, research the problem, find a solution, and call them back. Your support structure at PChelps is truly excellent. It's part of our unique style :)

Most of us here are technical consultants - I think Mr. Chips is our boss, everyone else is a consultant. We answer the phones and answer customers' how-to questions and solve their computer problems. We also help one another out by providing tech assists to one another.

I am indeed - full-blooded limey who married an Ohio native. I'm afraid my supply of British chocolate is running low, though (sorry, Mr. Chips and SmittenKitten - I'm expecting a new shipment soon!) For the moment, I'm having enormous fun making all my Phildephian co-workers jealous with photos of our new office space. And we look forward to meeting you, Radeona! I just hope you can survive the extreme geekish quirkiness that is a typical day at the office for us.

Well, when someone sends a link to a bunch of PCH geeks for a forum where they can discuss their new office and...yup, you're gonna get a lot of newbies :)

Hey, as long as we have phones, computers, a teapot and some really COOL decoration, we'll be ready for anything!

When I was four years old and there was no room on the high score board of my cousin's computer for "Andrew", so I just bashed some random keys and got "Werrf" - which kinda stuck :)

Well can I say thank goodness for Tyler :) I've been stuck here in Philadelphia since September, training with PC Helps, and we're finally moving back to CLE the week after next. The more pictures we see of the build-out, the more I'm looking forward to working in such a quirky and unique environment. Radeona - look forward to working with you. I'm the guy with the accent :) Everyone else - thanks for the enthusiasm. Tyler looks to be a truly unique place to work, and I absolutely cannot wait. And on the subject of nerds beating up muggers - let's just say our employee manual explicitly forbids us from bringing swords into the office...and there's a good reason for the rule.
