  1. I'm aware that the beer isn't brewed here, but the recipe is absolutely a Cincinnati thing. There are efforts to bring back the brewing process to the center city.
  2. So that means we have both Cold Turkey and Gilpin's open until at least 3:30 on weekends (6am for Cold Turkey). Both on 7th Street. Awesome.
  3. Drive all the way out to the suburbs to drink for two hours. Why? I don't see why this can't be held in the center city.
  4. Soooo....why is the keg-tapping of the Cincy-based brew going to be in Springdale...?
  5. Perhaps a dumb question but: Do they ever check the line of credit that an "investor" has in a property, if the City sells property to these guys claiming to have plans to fix up buildings in OTR? Seems like that would take some people out of the running right away.
  6. I heard it was black mold.

^Oh, believe me. I've had to take my luggage to class before. Reminded me of the kids in high school with backpacks on wheels. :) Points taken though, jmecklenborg and Living in Gin. The 2X suits me well right now, although I acknowledge how the wait sucks. Perhaps if I made (more) money, my opinion would be different. However, I'm definitely not arguing that the 2X is suffcient such that rail is not necessary. I do worry about the cost of a light rail spur to the airport in the future though, as there is little else to anchor such a line along the way.

Well, I assume that you rent a car to get around quickly AFTER you arrive in the city. I, however, see no need to burn $26. I can take the 2X TANK from CVG to 4th + Main, walk 2 blocks, and get to virtually any neighborhood in the city. Total cost of the 2X to Downtown and one fare plus one transfer: $4. Some people still underestimate the Metro bus system, I believe. Now, if you're going to Cincinnati on business, I can understand. Otherwise, I'm not sympathetic.
  9. Perhaps some people rag on the Enquirer for not supporting their personal views, I know that many like myself lack appreciation for the paper because of their inadequate coverage of key issues right here in the city. I don't think anyone who wants their local paper to adequately cover an issue was disappointed with the editorial in Sunday's edition. Of course, I'm speaking about pro-streetcar/rail people, but it was certainly a long overdue piece that balancecd the scales, so to speak. So it's not really about appeasing one interest group but showing all the items on the menu. (Not just the dishes for stiffs...)
  10. ^Oh, greaaaaat. *rolls eyes*

I'll pay $1.75 to take an express bus from CVG than a $26 cab ride anyday. (It's about the same cab fare from CVG to Downtown as it is from LGA to Midtown.)

I *do* wonder how the 3-C will affect both CVG and DAY. Why would we need 2 airports within 75 miles of each other if we could just choose the best price by rail? Especially when high-speed rail comes into play.
  13. Just think of how it would look on the train schedule: Covington, KY (Cincinnati, OH) It may not seem like much, but in any city, that would say to me, "Huh, seems like the larger city wasn't as serious about establishing a viable stop." That's exactly what I think when most of our concerts stop in Kentucky towns across the river, instead of here in Cincinnati. Cincinnati really needs to get serious about becoming more than a city full of itself, and start thinking about connectivity and appeal to a larger region. I feel that it is very important for Cincinnati to establish its own connection to the 3-C.
  14. GAHHHHH! Streetcar is everywhere!!! Stay on topic.
  15. Note to you: Please never use the word "jizzing" to describe...anything.
  16. ^But what about that valuable parking to the rear!
  17. I'm curious. Lyman says that even Dixie Terminal would be a better choice than Union Terminal. How is that even possible for the 3-C Corridor? I don't get it.
  18. ^That's already been said. Thanks though.
  19. ^Define well-funded. That's misleading.
  20. ^Somehow I feel that we're not the ones who should assess the value and costs of space travel...
  21. The space agency released a photo of Cincinnati taken from the station during one of its recent passes. They never said it was a new photo. I can't believe that some of you are griping that it doesn't show *all the progress* in our city over the past two years! Oh god, what will our neighbors think! Come on guys.
  22. Two comments: 1) Looking nice from the front. 2) Dayton is so depressing.
  23. I'm just glad that they're paying for three more parking DECKS, not another parking structure. Well, I'm also glad that they decided to move more of their employees downtown. I wonder what sparked their decision.
