^I couldn't find whether there were part-time hours available.
  2. ^Yes!
  3. ^That's wonderful! Where's this Gondola's space? I'm sure that this move will help Lucy Blue's immensely and allow them to keep regular hours.
  4. I would like to see the southern most Smitty's space rehabbed soon though (Smitty's used to occupy three storefronts, now only two). I'd be curious to see what happens to Smitty's when the redevelopment does occur. Although it's been around well before OTR hit the dust, it seems very much catered toward black lifestyles.
  5. ^Don't get me wrong--I'd love to see it happen. It was definitely a plus when they tore down the AM-PM Market for redevelopment. I am definitely looking forward to that block being redeveloped though.
  6. ^But I don't think that there are enough new higher-income residents to support carrying higher-quality item...yet. I don't think there's a chance of that even happening small scale until redevelopment reaches that block.
  7. Wow, I can't wait to see what comes of that prototype.
  8. ^I think that might have been a great explanation, say, three years ago. But really, there are so many more choices throughout the city than there were in 2000. When it comes to coffee in Cincinnati, there is no shortage of coffee places and music places rolled into one. Why would I go down to Kaldi's in OTR if I can go to Sitwell's, Taza, Highlands, Tazza Mia, Sidewinder Coffee and Tea, Mammoth Coffee, Awakenings, Iris Book Cafe, Lookout Joe's, College Hill Coffee Co, Coffee Emporium, etc. And honestly, I think the downfall of Kaldi's was Coffee Emporium. The space is more inviting, it's right on a major thoroughfare, and there's plenty of parking...just a few blocks away. If you're looking for a full menu at a coffee joint, plenty have that now...and late.
  9. Wow, how much more generic can it be? Is anyone else completely tired of seeing the dark brick/vinyl siding combo?
  10. Can anyone tell me why the Morelein Emancipator Dopplebock is so difficult to find? I enjoyed it at Highlands, a couple months ago, but then it was gone. More recently, I had some at Grammer's last week. The bartender told me that not many people have been ordering it. What's the deal with that? It's the best Morelein beer of them all!
  11. Just a heads up, the non-holiday beer thread is here: http://www.urbanohio.com/forum2/index.php/topic,17695.0.html

  14. ^I haven't seen whether they've posted the extended hours. The change seemed to have happened yesterday, following our barrage of e-mails. I do remember the debacle with Potbelly not posting their changes in hours of operation. Hopefully, Chipotle will do so.
  15. ^^I'd say you should ask someone in DAAP's urban planning program to get on GIS for you and clip a few MrSID satellite shots of Fountain Square configurations over the years. I would but I'm on co-op right now, so I don't have access to CAGIS.
  16. I'll be down there tonight with friends, just to show support for this. Let's not let their hours slip! As someone said earlier, about 10 people were dining in after 8pm, including several :police: :police: :police:. Although that's not bad, there are people who certainly do not realize the extended hours. Be sure to get the word out.

All I'm saying is that they surely have trends from location to location, as they have different hours for downtown locations from their other locations. Many chains look at hourly sales to determine how late to stay open. Heck, even locally owned businesses do. If they have a steady flow of customers coming through the door right at closing time, I'd say that should be something to look at. As Randy said earlier too, they should be looking at where they're putting businesses. However, I'll extend that notion: not only should they look to see where the greatest flow of patrons will be, but they should also look at how *other businesses* are doing in the same area. I'm sure they do both, but that second factor is important even after they open the store.

It's called consumer demand. How in the hell did you get on that high horse?
  19. My own message to Chipotle: I would like to say that I am very pleased that a Chipotle location has finally opened in Downtown Cincinnati...However, the 8pm closing time is completely unrealistic. Other area locations are open until 10pm, each of which I've seen full of patrons until closing time, more often than not. I am fully aware that Chipotle generally stays open until 8pm in downtown locations and 10pm otherwise. Fountain Square has become a lively place with plenty of passersby to support numerous eateries, many of which are open late. The Fountain Place location should be open until at least 10pm nightly to meet obvious demand. Patrons should be your guide toward adjusting store hours on a location by location basis, and I hope you consider this. I would also like to suggest extended hours on Fridays and Saturdays at the Fountain Place location. Many local downtown and uptown eateries are open well into the night. Fountain Place should be your signature CIincinnati store, and a unique feature as extended weekend hours would spread by word of mouth very quickly. With such a strong brand as Chipotle is, it would be a mistake not to hone in on this. Thank you, and I hope that you weigh these options very carefully. Christian

That's like saying, "What's the point of having Burger King if you already have McDonald's." ???
  22. Heh, good point.

It's a ridiculous notion to feel that you owe yourself to a product, just because it originated where your 232 year old nation now exists. Now, a mother or a father? I can understand that. A drug? Give me a break.
  24. ^It depends on what time of year you went. If it was summer, of course they'd all be booked.
