Well, I think there should be stricter penalties for illegals, period. This is a perfect example of a need for it.
  2. ^and^^Wow, I wouldn't agree at all about the Killian's. It's miles above Bud Light or any of that garbage. Sometimes, Killian's is the only good beer available at a bar--at least, the only one on which I'd be willing to spend my money.
  3. The Chipotle site says the Fountain Square location's hours are 11AM to 8PM daily.
  4. ^Seconded! By the way, I picked up a giant bottle of a seasonal Sam Adams Chocolate Bock up in Austintown, OH, this past weekend. I haven't tapped it yet, but I'm very curious about it's flavor. I've had the Stout's Triple Chocolate before, which was absolutely horrible. I've heard good things about this bock though.
  5. It was in a building just to the south, not right on the corner, and that was a Brian Garry initiative that seems to have lost steam. A sign in the window used to say that it'd open in Summer 2008.
  6. They better be 100% committed to this project. I don't want to see more poorly justified teardowns.
  7. A full liquor license for a pizza joint? Must have a bar in there as well. Hmm.

I think I've seen a gate LED show a Wilkes-Barre destination once after coming in to CVG on a flight (this was years ago; I'd never fly into CVG anymore). But others? Nope.
  9. ^That's the dream, but that may not be future. Most of that is rental property for students anyway, which may cause rent to rise higher than many can manage. The less steep grade on Vine Street seems more sensible to me. Although, with the announcement of the redevelopment plans of Uptown Commons, I absolutely hate the idea of a parking garage at Vine and Calhoun. I think higher property values would prove to be a very positive impetus for reinvestment for the stretch of Vine between Corryville and upper OTR. I think that link between Uptown and OTR redevelopment is key. Plus, what do you do with all the parking along West Clifton. Build another parking garage or three? After the curve up the hill, there's parking on both sides and not much more room to wiggle.
  10. ^I think it all comes down to how much it will cost. Due to the steeper grade, I'd think that the streetcar line going up West Clifton would cost a few more million dollars.

I didn't say that there has been no change, but I said that was inaccurate. An overstatement. Most people are changing there habits more because it affects there ability to get by. That's how it will be for the foreseeable future. I'd like to see how she came to that conclusion. You can't exactly come up with hard numbers to prove that people are changing their habits for environmental reasons. I do recognize that many people have jumped to the other side to become more green-minded. I don't feel that it's anywhere near prominent. It's easy to give a public official's words more merit than your neighbor, but they can't see everything from their office window.

To me, it doesn't matter who said it, if I feel that it's an inaccurate statement.

I don't know about this quote. I know that I became more proactive in reducing energy consumption (and materials use), recycling, no longer driving, etc......but I don't really agree that "Americans are becoming much more conscious about...the desire to reduce the environmental effect." I can tell you that other than reducing plastic bag use by using reusable cloth bags, I rarely run into anyone who talks about turning off lights when they leave rooms, rides the bus because cars are worse for the environment, or avoids buying plastic products to withdraw support from petroleum industries. I just don't see it happening.
  14. Uh, I don't get it. --- I would choose either Carvatech or Gangloff, although the latter looks close to what they already have.

And for people who don't feel like visiting the link but have no idea what AVP, AZO, MHT, or PWM are... AVP: Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, PA AZO: Kalamazoo/Battle Creek, MI MHT: Manchester, NH PWM: Portland, ME We're not all airport code geeks.
  16. ^^It's a rural community, man. I don't think they had some massive teardown or anything.

^I've never seen more rolly eyes from anyone else here than from you.
  18. From a July 30th Enquirer article: So I wonder if it'll have a nightclub feel to it. I really do like Unheardof and it's whole look, which is obviously different than Bang's deal. Let's hope that Heuser is going for diverse options in the Soapbox.
  19. ^I ache to see this work out.
  20. ^^I wonder if Mainstay will be a live music venue as well. All that space...I'd hope so. Although with all the plasma televisions you said they were installing, I don't know if this sounds like my kind of place.
  21. Those balconies really make me nervous. It'll be raining suicidal men. That being said, I believe that this will be my favorite modern structure.

I got a couple from Queensgate last year at night. I'll have to load them up eventually.
  23. All right, well my bracketed sarcasm still stands for a new pedestrian bridge.
  24. Perhaps they should incorporate a pedestrian bridge with the widening of MLK, so that the hospital workers can safely cross over to the Chipotle. [Kidding.]
