  1. There is a side street off Glencoe Place that dead ends into Inwood Park, before you head down the hill toward Inwood Village. I don't see how blocking that street off would even be feasible. Glencoe isn't all that wide to begin with.
  2. I'd assume, if it came down something else would go up. Can anyone else imagine differently? The Poison Room looks like it might be undergoing renovations, but it's been in the same state for weeks now. Well, I wouldn't see it as much a question of IF something else would go up...but WHEN.
  3. Well, we know it won't be the fire station. So what does that leave? I wonder what will go in their places. Can anyone see the old Poison Room coming down? If so, that'll leave 5th and Plum quite empty, considering there's a parking lot covering most of the next block (if not all of it).

So what do you think about the people who sell Russian girls like shelf products, so that they their sexual organs can bring in the dough to daddy? I might be appalled if I knew what you do for money.
  5. ^Great article you posted, noozer.
  6. Any information on Bootsy's? Perhaps I should have done a search on it. I guess this is what you're looking for: http://www.jeffruby.com/bootsyPR.html Much appreciated!
  7. Seconded.
  8. Very nice, Rob. I hope to ride the Metra for the first time next weekend.
  9. Any information on Bootsy's? Perhaps I should have done a search on it.
  10. What's the Package Express thing at the Cincinnati Greyhound station? Same thing?
  11. Not sure. That article is from the CBC as well as the go*METRO news page.
  12. Panera Bread, on Calhoun, experiences the same issue. I've been lobbying for some time for them to open a Downtown location to help take some of the catering pressure off of the Calhoun location and expand their presence with the corporations Downtown. I heard that a Chipotle is opening across from JoS Bank & Co, which will take some line pressure off Potbelly Sandwich Works during the lunch hour.

    I wouldn't hold your breath on $2-3.
  14. There is a new bookstore on Main that sells Aglamesis Ice Cream: Iris Book Cafe. It's a joint venture.
  15. Sounds good to me. I'd rather ride the bike over there via Goodman and Eden than to head up Clifton. It's the sweat factor too. Don't have to catch a bus to Highland/MLK, if I want to avoid that.
  16. That's a silly comment, actually. Chipotle has some of the lowest-costing fast-food around. On the other hand, Starbucks sells some of the most expensive coffee available for mass consumption.
  17. You're assuming the PD will cover it at all. Indeed, I am, even though I don't know what PD means. It will be covered somewhere. I'm sure NYT will, at least.
  18. Ex-Councilwoman Cooper joins SORTA board Minette Cooper, a former Cincinnati City Council member, has joined the Southwest Ohio Regional Transit Authority’s board of trustees. The nine-member board oversees the Metro bus system and Access transit for people with disabilities. Cooper, a former kindergarten and Head Start teacher, served on council from 1995-2003, including a stint as vice mayor. 19. I wonder how much media attention this will receive. I'm predicting sixth page?
  20. What I didn't include earlier is that I take the sidewalks through Fairfield, until I get past 275. Then I take the lane until about NCH. Mostly I just want to avoid the crazy people getting on and off Cross County. I rejoin the road before I hit Mt. Airy. My route is at the city and county buildings in Hamilton, to the bike trail, down to Joe Nuxhall Dr. Then crossing over to Pleasant Ave (US 127) to Clifton on Ludlow.

Oh yeah. I'm not sure when I'll be over in Mt. Healthy at 2am any time soon, but Hamilton Ave is a blast in the middle of the night. It was definitely a highlight of riding during summer nights. I still get some of that sensation riding to Knowlton's Corner in the morning.
  22. I'm under the name BlackBiria there.
  23. Uptown Commons was also the name of a failed project down by the zoo for NIOSH.

Most of my commute is on US 127, so there really isn't an issue with parked cars. I find it much safer to ride on or near the curb. If I'm ascending a steep hill that I know will slow me down considerably AND there isn't a sufficient curb, I will ride on the sidewalk. I'm mainly referring to the evening commute in the previous statement.
  25. I emailed Megabus over the summer about this route... never got a response. I would assume they wouldn't want to go away from their business plan (everything terminates in Chicago). I don't see it happening anytime soon. Unless they created another hub (which I also don't see happening soon), don't hold your breath. The other hub would have to be Cincinnati or something, and would have to facilitate additional service to cities like Nashville. They already eliminated Pittsburgh and Louisville though, so... Nah.
