  1. Why the hell don't they just raise the earnings tax percentage that goes to Metro? Anyone able to do a rough estimate of what the annual revenue would be at 0.35%?
  2. ^That's really a shame. I wonder what those upper floors of Smitty's are being used for. Just junk shit?
  3. I believe Maki in Clifton Heights is open on Saturdays for lunch.
  4. ^Cue has been closed for a while, due to a black mold problem in the building.
  5. When is Tink's closing? I haven't heard anything about that.
  6. The trash and recycling pickup are both already included in property and income taxes, I believe. Your taxes won't go up as a result of the new campaign.

Not sure where the Beer You Go thread went that I created. I guess this is the thread now...
  8. Man on Wire.
  9. I'll say right now that what's planned for Old St. George is not a boutique hotel tied to a chain. In fact, it's going to be one run by an in-state Ohio company. That's all I can really say right now, unless I find out I can disclose it tonight.
  10. Does anyone know a way that I can salvage some of the bricks from homes slated for demolition? I only need a small number: about 200-300. I'd really like to use salvaged materials for raised-bed plantings, and I don't really have a huge budget for purchasing them. Does Building Value sell salvaged bricks? I don't recall from my visit that they did.
  11. I beg your pardon? Don't patronize me.
  12. Those were HIS thoughts on the iPad and other Apple products. He wasn't trying to play director with stuff you own. Chill out.
  13. As far as my thoughts on the iPad and the Kindle, I feel that both are a bit unnecessary for me. I already have a notebook computer, and I'd rather not carry that around *and* a reading tool. I don't take long trips for business. I don't need a substitute for carrying ten books, when I rarely carry more than two. I'm down with both tools allowing you to download books to one device. But when are CityBeat, community newsletters, and subscription magazines going to be available electronically? Well, I'm sure I'd get a response about the latter, but the format would most likely resemble a website. I do have friends that fall in love with everything Apple releases, but I'm not in love with this technology just yet. The iPhone, however, was a revolutionary device that upped the ante for mobile phones in the US. Europe and Japan had been years ahead of us. Now, a touch-screen phone with such incredible versatility pushed other companies to do the same. I don't own one, but after I get good use out of my current Motorola, I will definitely consider it. Cincinnati Bell would just have to start carrying the iPhone, so I don't have to switch to a plan that is twice what I currently pay.
  14. Wow, wouldn't that be something. So, Sam Adams would have a brewpub on the river and their brewery in OTR.
  15. Yeah, see my thread from 2 years ago, when I argued that OTR north of Liberty should be designated as a separate neighborhood. I listed my reasons. http://www.urbanohio.com/forum2/index.php/topic,16374.0.html
  16. Beechmont Bigg's. Anderson Kroger. Hyde Park Kroger. Very popular locations.

The first team that comes to mind is the Florida Marlins. Have you see how empty that stadium is, all season long? I really don't know how they end up paying everyone.
  18. ^^But really, I'm not surprised that it feels dangerous there on Elm. And I don't see it getting better there for another five years. At least.
  19. ^Yes! Someone else who calls it the Nolibs! Holy crap!

Like I said. More like i-go.
  21. Well, isn't the main issue there with U of M?
  22. Blue Line replied to a post in a topic in Roads & Biking
In Chicago, i-go is a non-profit that offers monthly or short-term borrows for primarily alternative fuel vehicles. So, it would necessarily have to be an expanding enterprise.

That's a ridiculous statement. What do you suggest they do with these items--send them to the landfill?
