They should work on bringing a day care into the building.

It's called Bodega and it's owned by the same people who own Uptowne Grille in University Circle. They did a nice job renovating the place and it's easily the most upscale place on Coventry (which isn't saying much, but this place would fit in the WHD). They have live music a few nights/wk (jazz when we were there). Food was decent -not the best or most inventive tapas I've ever had, but not bad. It's located just south of Phoenix coffee. and next door to BD's

Philadelphia
People from NNJ have moved to Philly as Philly tries to market itself as the "six boro" I od agree that Philly does remind me of Cleveland. I've often said that. Broad Street Reminds me of Euclid and East Ninth reminds me of Market street. I can't say that market Street reminds me of E 9th at all. Market is lined with retail and flanked with City Hall. Heck, there's even a K'Mart on market street. E 9th is mostly office/financial. Granted, there are offices along market, I view it much more retail oriented than 9th. Remember there are TWO sides to Market street. City Hall splits both market and Broad streets. Exactly, the side from the river to City hall is mostly merchant areas and well there's also the Convention center at 11th Street, but if you travel the circle around City hall and continue travelling down Market street you hit the financial/law firm areas.

What Kind of American English Do You Speak?
One thing I've noticed..well to be honest there are a few.. like around here (Philly area) it's "wooder" not water. And it's, "wanna come with?" First time my boyfriend/now husband said that to me I looked at him and said, "come with what, a side of chips?" I'm sure I'll think of others... soda's a big thing over here. My friends became upset with me when I tried to teach their son how to ask for "pop". Apparently, here, Pop is a name for your grandfather

Where is the best place to get pizza?
I've never heard of anyone actually missing Jersey.. haha LOL I dont know that I'll miss the actually state.. but I will miss Delisi's pizza, Pic's wings and tails, and Gaetano's garlicbread cheese steaks... ohhh and panzarotti's... :D When we went to Cleveland to sign our lease, I saw a poster for a "Philadelphia Cheese Steak" and it had steak-ums, onions, and red and green peppers.... I stood in disbelief... blinking... and then I started to laugh and toyed with the idea with going in there and telling them I could increase their revenue by showing them how to REALLY make a Philadelphia Cheesesteak See now you contradict yourself.. are you from Jersey or Philly.. just because you live RIGHT across the PA line doesn't mean you're from both. I'm from New Jersey. Our area is a suburb of Philadelphia. Every single food I listed is made in New Jersey though. The Philadelphia Cheese steak isnt the location it's made but the style. And a Philly Cheesesteak does NOT have red or green peppers in it and doesnt ...ever... use steak-ums. You take shaved beef, and lots of it.. put it on the grill, using the spatula to chop it into pieces. As it's cooking you take American cheese, white, and melt it into the meat, adding onions that have been cooked on the same grill. Now, a true philly cheesesteak will offer you the choice of "Whiz or no Whiz", where they slather melted cheese wiz on it. You can also add mushrooms, some add pepperoni at times..but onion, beef and cheese melted in, not placed on the bread as you put the meat on.. that is a Philly cheesesteak.

I believe that your husband is not correct on this point. The building being "proposed" right now would be slightly shorter than the Sears Tower and a good bit short of both the Chicago Spire (which will hold that title) and the Freedom Tower. The Philly proposal actually looks like one of the proposals for the Freedom Tower that was not accepted. Philly is an interesting town because for a long time there was a law on the books that prohibited any building from exceeding the eyes of William Penn (nice shot MTS). That restriction was not repealed until the mid-late 1980's. It actually led to density far BEFORE the skyscrapers started going up - a strategy I am all for here in CLE. I would def. have not been opposed to any Cleveland law that had capped height at the Terminal Tower. Not that I don't love the Key Center, I just think that it swallows the Terminal Tower.... 200 PS also is guilty of doing the same on inbound east shoreway. I remember when all those skyscrapers were shooting up in the 1990's, my grandmother (who is a lifetime Philly resident) was always complaining how they looked like giant salt shakers. According to http://www.philly.com/philly/hp/news_update/20080317_Plan_for_high-rise_would_put_Philly_on_worlds_skyscraper_map.html It's a conflicting article saying that it would be the tallest at 1500 ft, but then mentions a 2000ft building being constructed in Chicago. And yes, that's true and supposedly, the curse of William Penn is that ever since buildings were allowed to be higher, no Philly team has won a championship. I'd hoped before we left to get pictures of Love Park and a few other places downtown, but alas, we have not. I guess we'll have to save that for a visit back.

Honey, I didn't take picture of the "piles" of things I saw. LOL, I still remember my first PATCO ride into Philly, my friend Terri whispered in my ear, "no matter what, dont touch the railing and dont step in any puddles"

LOL, New Jersey is the Armpit of America.. at least that's what my husband has called it and he would know, he's lived there all his life. We live in Lindenwold, NJ (at least until Saturday). It's in Camden County (but not the city Camden which I wouldnt wish on my worst enemy). We're about 15 miles from Philly and around here, we pretty much consider ourselves a suburb of Philly. MTS, I LOVED those pictures. My husband and I love the theater district and recently saw Eddie Izzard at the Kimmel Center there. Center City is remodelling... slowly. In the 12-13 years I've lived here, I've really seen an improvement. They're just about finished with the Comcast building and according to my husband, they're about to start work on what will be the tallest building in the Western Hemisphere. Too bad you didnt get to visit the art museum or Fairmont Park. On the north side of the park there's a walking/running path that follows the Schukyll (pronounced Skoo-kill) River with various Victorian boathouses and statues and a great old cemetery you can walk through. Yes, PATCO is disgusting. I'll give you that much. Be lucky all you found was an empty bottle of liquor. I used to have to use that every day to get from NJ to work in Thomas Jefferson University. Parts of Philly are deplorable, yes, but I think that's the same in every city. But I have a love/hate relationship with Philly, and you posted pictures of all the places I love the most. As for crime, I believe that both Philly and Camden top the number of murders for the past few years, I know we were well over 200 ... and last year there were nearly 400.
