Brecksville: Valor Acres Development
Cleveland pulled off the biggest poaches luring the VA and Cross Country mortgage away from Brecksville. These moves brought thousands of jobs and continue to generate significant spinoff development in the city.

Cleveland: Detroit-Shoreway / Gordon Square Arts District: Development News
I take the fam to Capitol pretty often, it's kind of our go-to spot. Always a solid experience. We’re heading there Friday night for HTTYD. If all goes well (and it usually does), I might even post pics of a clean, non-apocalyptic, actually pleasant theater. Stay tuned.

Cleveland: Detroit-Shoreway / Gordon Square Arts District: Development News
Really hoping Capitol can stay afloat - the box office has shown a strong rebound in Q2 2025 and is significantly improved yoy. Some box office analysts are even predicting that 2026 and 2027 could be record-breaking years for theaters, potentially surpassing pre-COVID numbers. Exciting times ahead if the momentum keeps up.

As is customary, “reports” - even from esteemed sources like RentCafe.com are best when shared within the appropriate thread: https://urbanohio.com/topic/7049-another-dumb-a-list-ranking-of-cities/page/48/#comment-1193994

Cleveland: Detroit-Shoreway / Gordon Square Arts District: Development News
Why is the Welleon listed under canceled/postponed? Additionally, Breakwater is an active construction site - project is definitely moving forward. As for Gordon Square, it's on the cusp of significant growth, with three to five large-scale developments likely to be underway within the next 8 to 12 months. Patience is a virtue.

Cleveland: Restaurant News & Info
I'm not surprised La Playa is still open - we were there last weekend with a large group, and the place was packed. They do really well during the summer, both on weekdays and weekends. Most business owners along Detroit Ave (just look at Ninja City’s recent revamp) recognize that the neighborhood’s best days are still ahead. With over 1,000 new housing units being added, retailers know things are about to get MUCH busier in the near future.

Cleveland: Detroit-Shoreway / Gordon Square Arts District: Development News
Gordon Square is in the midst of a development boom. The team behind Minh Anh is opening a Vietnamese coffee bar across from The Welleon, bringing a fresh concept to the neighborhood. Cake Drama, a popular local bakery, is expanding and relocating from Tremont to 5409 Detroit Ave. Meanwhile, The W Sports Bar is under construction and expected to become a regional destination.

Cleveland: Crime & Safety Discussion
The city's change in demographics are directly contributing to a decline in crime rates, a trend that is expected to continue improving over the next 5-10 years.

It is the HH project. I included it on the list because, while the land is currently for sale, development is imminent over the next few years.

Cleveland: Detroit-Shoreway / Gordon Square Arts District: Development News
The neighborhood isn't going to have any trouble attracting more retailers in a few short years. A recap of what's coming: Herman Park: 135 units Breakwater: 193 units (includes for sale units) Shoreway Tower: 110 units W.73rd: 194 units Watterson-Lake: 136 units In addition to major developments, numerous rehab and smaller infill projects (for sale) are happening on nearly every street in Gordon Square. Per capita income is rising significantly - an increase that was almost unimaginable just two or three years ago.

Cincinnati: Potential New Arena
The exact same could said (maybe soon?) of current and previous Reds' ownership.
-
Cincinnati: Potential New Arena
Yep, and watching soon turns into wanting.. Anything can happen - it’s only natural to expect the Reds and Bengals to ask for the same, if not much more.

NASA Headquarters Relocation
I agree that a move is unlikely, but if it were to happen, deep red states like Texas, Ohio, and Florida would be at the top of the list. With strong government support at all levels, Cleveland/NASA Glenn would have just as good a chance as any other contender.
-
NASA Headquarters Relocation
No idea why Alabama, Florida, Texas or California would get it over Ohio. In all seriousness, very few cities outside of Cleveland have the necessary housing and infrastructure in place to accommodate such a relocation.

Cleveland SC Soccer Stadium
Like I said, it's not much different from Cincinnati’s weather - unless you’re way out east, which the stadium will not be. Not sure why some people act like Cleveland is in the Arctic. It’s early March, and we’re out here in shorts and t-shirts. Let it go already.
