  1. I don't put any weight in these findings either, but it doesn't hurt to get a little feel good fluff every now and then.
  2. http://www.cleveland.com/living/index.ssf/2009/07/cleveland_ranks_no_14_in_ratin.html Cleveland has moved out of Mom's basement. How to make the list Forbes.com bases its rankings on seven things: cost of living alone, job growth, perceived coolness, culture, nightlife, online dating participation, and the percentage of singles in the population. The top 10 cities for singles 1. New York City 2. Boston 3. Chicago 4. Seattle 5. Washington, D.C. 6. Atlanta 7. San Francisco 8. Los Angeles 9. Milwaukee 10. Philadelphia The bottom 10 cities for singles 31. Indianapolis 32. Charlotte, N.C. 33. Tampa/St. Petersburg, Fla. 34. Detroit 35. Sacramento, Calif. 36. Memphis, Tenn. 37. Kansas City 38. 3. I'm patiently awaiting your findings.........and please don't just copy and paste what some jerk off wrote in the PD commentary section. Thanks.
  4. The potential of the E55th and St Clair-Superior neighbor far outweighs any negative impact on the environment. I work with developmental groups in that specific part of the city and some of their plans are amazing (pending the port move). I would hate to see all of their hard work, time, and efforts smashed by environmentalists. Who cares about the people and businesses in the neighborhood anymore, right? EC you still haven't said where a better place to move the port would be........Or don't you want it moved at all?
  5. If anyone is against moving the port to E55th they clearly do NOT have Cleveland's best interest at heart, or they are just plain ignorant to situation.

After rereading what they're looking for I definitely think its Tremont. I bike and walk from Tremont to the W.25th rapid station all the time.

I wouldn't recommend anyone to Berea or Olmsted Falls that specifically said they are looking for a more urban experience. It sounds like they are tired of the burbs. I would suggest Tremont, Ohio City, Asiatown, and Lakewood.
  8. Great to hear! I'm not shocked though. When my friends from out of town visit they usually say the same things. Especially the ones that have never been here before.
  9. Thanks to 327. Seems like in every thread that's all that is talked about when discussing downtown. Some people just do NOT get it.
  10. Comparing Niles to Downtown Cleveland isn't really applicable. Girard, Cortland, Champion, etc do not have any malls or shopping outlets like Niles. Every community outside of the Cleveland city limits seem to have their own mall. Until Crocker Park or Legacy Village close you're not going to see people from the burbs drive downtown to shop. Period end of story.
  11. I agree, that corner does look like Sh!t. I think McCleveland mentioned the development could start up again there in the near future.
  12. Developer Lou Frangos says he has tenants for Ameritrust complex if he can resolve legal snarl By Michelle Jarboe July 09, 2009, 7:02PM CLEVELAND -- Developer Lou Frangos says he can bring new tenants to empty office buildings in the former Ameritrust complex -- if he can resolve a legal snarl with Cuyahoga County. http://www.cleveland.com/business/index.ssf/2009/07/developer_lou_frangos_says_he.html
  13. How do we even know these stats for 2009 in the peedee are accurate? I thought the census wasn't until 2010. Is it done yearly now?
  14. No the 433,748 is just the city of Cleveland. In Cuyahoga County there's a little over 2million. In the 7 county metro there's somewhere between 3.5-4 mil I think.
  15. Starting on July 5th - Dec, Turner construction will be renovating 3 floors in the Higbee building. This is part of Key Banks plan to move out of May Co building. The move involves the relocation of 1,000 workers.
  16. Rosetta employs around 400. This sounds interesting. "Terry Coyne, a real estate broker representing Rosetta, said he could not comment about the Ameritrust situation. "We remain interested in downtown," he said.
  17. my commute on 90 has gotten worse.

  20. Cleveland wants federal government help to turn Northeast Ohio into bustling green economy CLEVELAND -- Public officials and foundation executives told Labor Secretary Hilda Solis and auto czar Ed Montgomery Wednesday that they needed the federal government's help in turning Northeast Ohio into a bustling green economy. "We want to ensure that Cleveland is competitive in the emerging green economy," said Cleveland Mayor Frank Jackson. 21. I also live in Tremont. Been here going on a 1 year. I've really enjoyed it.....My apt is close to the main road where most of the bars and restaurants are located. The noise level isn't bad at all especially during the week. I've never been kept up or awaken by barking dogs. Not everyone has them as mentioned earlier.
