  1. Other forms of crime have been decreasing for years, not relatively steady. Facts not opinions, here: https://clecityhall.files.wordpress.com/2021/01/yearendreport2020final.pdf

Joe isn't wrong. These GQP Senate candidates, or traitors, are an embarrassment to real Ohioans.
  3. The entire suburban experiment is going to slowly fail over the next 20-30 years. Think about all of the housing structures and out-dated office buildings that won't be worth saving. Homes built post 1960ish are going to crumble and won't be economically worth the cost of an extensive rehab, which will certainly be needed by then. A lot of my friends that moved out to Olmsted, North Ridgeville and Avon deal with constant basement flooding/sewer backup, and many other issues due to quickly and cheaply built cluster home construction. I can tell you most are regretting their decision to leave the city/inner rings. Even the new builds going up in today's suburbs aren't built to last. One way suburban builders cut costs is by using 2x4's for exterior walls, which inherently lowers the quality. This is awful for wind loads, energy consumption, bearing capacities, etc. The city of Cleveland requires all builders to use 2x6's on exterior walls. This not only makes the house considerably more stronger, it's also great for green energy and lower utility bills. These houses, like the ones built in 1904, will be worth saving 100 years from now. The same type of abandonment and disinvestment that happened to cities across the rust belt, will eventually leak into areas where buildings are no longer viable to upkeep.
  4. He's 110% right, which makes your entire post silly. During the peak of COVID and shutdowns, downtown Cleveland was just as quiet, if not quieter, than any suburb I visited during that time. Yet downtown Cleveland's population (16-18k) is the size of an average suburb like Bay Village or Broadview Heights. The only reasonable conclusion is cars = noise. Not including the wind in this video, American suburbs are louder than European cities:

This probably the biggest fallacy that radical rights believe in. Red states reliance on federal and states funds is WAY higher than blue states --> https://sipanews.fiu.edu/2021/03/24/2021s-most-least-federally-dependent-states/ Can you post anything that isn't riddled with lies?

Neither the left nor right trusts government, so let's get that straight. The approval levels of Congress prove this notion. The difference is the left believes what they hear and read from professors, scientists, doctors, health experts and historians....aka smart people. The right unites behind hate, guns and the bible...ironic isn't it? If this weren't true, why is Mandel the leading US Senate candidate in Ohio?

It does explain a lot of Trump's success over Hillary.

Mike Dewine was helped because he was up against Richard Cordray, who is also not physically imposing.

^ Matt has a conscience and is certainly qualified for the position. These characteristics are why he's polling so low and unelectable in today's GQP.

I've met both in person, Tim is taller and wider. Mandel doesn't look or act like a marine, so there's that. DeWine isn't popular with the red alpha's. Your memory must be worse than your political views --> https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2021/08/10/michigan-militia-targeted-ohio-governor-mike-dewine/5551948001/

Hi, I grew up in Warren. Tim still won so it's unfair to say that "most" people no longer like him. It's all about the match up, as you noted. I also believe The Valley will pull for one of their own over a Mandel.
  14. ^It's not bizarre at all. This is part of the radical rights playbook to garner even more hate towards cities. They're preparing and prepping their base to attack. It's ironic, because the true ugliness of the country lies mostly outside of city borders. Every suburb across the country virtually looks the same, filled with the same corny stores/restaurants. That isn't beauty, creativity or any sense of worth.

An example of Tim Ryan just being bigger than most humans. The closest guy to him in stature is Jason Kokrak, who is a large man for a PGA tour-winning golfer.
  16. Clefan98 replied to Columbo's post in a topic in Ohio Politics
Tim Ryan's odds will increase as soon as he faces off toe-to-toe with his GOP opponent. His dominating physical presence will serve him well during the debates. He's 6'4" 235-245lbs and was an all-Ohio football player at Warren JFK. Scoff if you will, but appearances do influence voters more in backwards, macho states like Ohio. Not only will Tim run mental circles around the GOP candidate, he will also come off as more alpha compared to the short, weakly-built weasels like Mandel, Vance, Moreno etc.
  17. Clefan98 replied to Columbo's post in a topic in Ohio Politics
I honestly think Tim has a 50/50 chance at the Senate seat solely based on how awful Mandel is. I can't see moderate Republicans showing up in droves to vote for that POS. Even his own family despises him.
  18. Sculptor strikes deal to buy Sokolowski's University Inn property in Tremont A sculptor with deep ties to Cleveland's Tremont neighborhood is the would-be buyer of Sokolowski's University Inn, a beloved restaurant that has been sitting dark since early 2020. During a phone interview, Giancarlo Calicchia confirmed that he signed a contract late last year to buy the 0.41-acre site. He expects to conclude the purchase in March. https://www.crainscleveland.com/real-estate/sculptor-strikes-deal-buy-sokolowskis-university-inn-property-tremont

^ It was Matt Zone's committee until he left in 2020.
  20. If your theory is true (hint: it isn't) why would anyone leave the city to commit a crime? What logically makes sense is criminals living inside AND outside of the city limits are using the lack of pursuit within Cleveland to their advantage. A recent example of this is the suburban cop killing carjackers from two days ago. It's time for suburbanites to realize that most of their issues are coming from their own backyards.
  21. Suburban Cleveland homicides rose in 2021, data shows CLEVELAND, Ohio – Suburban Cleveland homicides rose last year compared to 2020 and included incidents such as the beating death of a 5-year-old Parma boy, the killing of a bouncer and patron at a Parma bar, the shooting death of an 18-year-old man during an East Cleveland police chase and the first homicide in Broadview Heights since 1979. As of late 2021, there were 71 homicides in the suburbs, according to statistics from the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner. A total of 48 homicides were reported in the suburbs in 2020, the statistics shows. https://www.cleveland.com/crime/2022/01/suburban-cleveland-homicides-up-this-year-from-2020-data-shows.html
  22. This neighborhood really does have it all and I couldn't imagine living anywhere else. The best part about Gordon Square is it's only going to continue to grow and get more appealing to those who want the perfect mixture of city + lake living.
  23. People came to the interior in search of jobs, not more room. Read a history book instead of Facebook comments.
  24. LOL, you're speaking with the attitude of yesterdays (old Cleveland). Good luck with that...
  25. The problem with boomers is they are currently in control of all parts of government in the region, this will be changing soon. Younger leaders like myself are already coordinating and planning with the right folks across the county and state to make mergers and annexations a reality someday.
