  1. but when it all crashes there will be no bank bailouts, federal bailouts, if they are hit will extreme weather there will be no FEMA to save them. If you will agree to that then I say go for it. Build all you want. Let the buyer beware. Matter of fact we should run an ad inviting known criminals to live and operate out of Miami. (oh I forgot that is Miami today.)
  2. Fake news. There was never a SHW store on w117, bud.
  3. They will most likely end up downtown.
  4. During an interview, Leonhardt said the cluster of historic buildings could become a new corporate headquarters for CrossCountry Mortgage, a nationwide residential lender with about 450 employees in Brecksville and hopes of doubling that headcount within five years. https://www.cleveland.com/business/2019/01/investors-buy-6-acre-block-at-downtown-clevelands-eastern-edge-for-development-possible-corporate-hq.html
  5. Throughout the history of SHW, they've never closed a store. Think about that one...
  6. Really? There's at least 15 restaurants w/in a 4-5 block radius of the Covelli Centre. 1907, V2, Whistle & Keg, Rhine Haus, Downtown Circle, The Federal, MVR, Avalon, Kitchen Post and Roberto's to name a few.
  7. That's not a lot of debt for a 17.5B dollar company.
  8. And many don't, what's your point?

  10. You should probably read the study/book before saying "something is really dumb".
  11. Yeah, you're correct, it was built independently. I'm pretty certain Robert Maschke designed it.

  16. One of Central Ohio's largest employers announces layoffs One of Central Ohio's largest employers is downsizing a workforce that's already seen a significant reduction in the past year or so. In a letter to the state, Vertiv Group Corp. announced it was reducing the headcount at its Columbus manufacturing facility at 1050 Dearborn Dr., cutting 120 hourly and 10 salaried employees in phases from Oct. 14 through next April. https://www.bizjournals.com/columbus/news/2019/08/20/one-of-central-ohios-largest-employers-announces.html
  17. I was thinking the same thing. They accounted for about ~.002% of the total visitors. Don't get me wrong, I'm pumped they're here, but it's a ridiculously low number in the grand scheme of things.
  18. Alea to Bring Wood-Fired Mediterranean Fare to Hingetown Area of Ohio City Hingetown, that eclectic little corner of Ohio City, will soon have its first full-service, finer-dining restaurant when Alea opens next month near the intersection of W. 29th Street and Church Avenue (2912 Church St.). A concept two years in the making and six months under construction, the restaurant will offer a wide-ranging taste of the Mediterranean in an attractive, modestly proportioned setting. https://www.clevescene.com/scene-and-heard/archives/2019/08/27/alea-to-bring-wood-fired-mediterranean-fare-to-hingetown-area-of-ohio-city
  19. Some of my friends even hated when they were moved from downtown to Hinckley Pkwy! I couldn't imagine the level of hate if they were placed in the outer burbs. I know my gf would be the first in line to leave SHW if they ever decide to ghost downtown.
  20. You're not a spokesperson for the "people of this region". It's important to keep that in mind. If this were 1985, I'd totally agree with you, but it's not. The people you speak of who've encouraged sprawl are either dead, retired, less influential or living in Florida now. There's a lot of folks (even at the county level) working on fixing the mistakes of yesteryears.
  21. Crazy how much denser the northern cities in Ohio are over the rest of the state. Maybe Lakewood could hit the 10k mark with all of its forthcoming developments.
