  1. I don't know what to tell ya. Everything he said was accurate. Quit complaining and continue to enjoy the ride. How's that?
  2. I'll be there too!
  3. Ugggh, stop telling people how to think. Not all of us can have just one cheerleader opinion on every Cleveland subject and it doesn't mean we're not enjoying the ride. Mr. Believeland is right though....
  4. Did you go?

Jeez you guys get angry very easily. I don't care if the Reds or Bengals are good, bad, average I don't let it bother me. Only Cleveland fans are allowed to ask about attendance? I am not ripping anyone, just curious. Understood, I amended my comment. Sorry, just been battling it all morning on the Indians forum.

Why are the Reds wins so low?
  8. I don't care about the entire season, I get that people were skeptical in May and June. The Indians are on the verge of history right now and yet everyone filled up First Energy for another "almost win". I don't get it... This team went to Game 7 and lost in extra-innings for what people nationally were saying was one of the more memorable and exciting World Series in memory. Yes we struggled consistency-wise in April, May and into June, but our track record, esp under Tito, a lock future HOFer, plus our additions, like Encarnacion, should have been confidence enough that we were playoff bound -- likely as a division winner.. I'm not upset with our attendance and am very pleased that it is way up over last year. That said, last year I believe only Tampa Bay had less regular season attendance and, this year, someone noted we are 5th from the bottom attendance-wise. That does seem odd esp when considerably lesser teams like Minnesota are, and have been, packing 'em in night after night whereas we here in Cleveland see a +20K crowd as a good night. I'm glad the Tribe has high FSO ratings, but there is still a lingering resistance among fans to attend games, at least during the regular season -- I guess there's still some anger at the Dolans for being cheap, although recent moves, like EE, Jay Bruce, Joe Smith, and others, belies this premise... we know the Indians will sell out in the playoffs as any team should. We're not 5th from the bottom, that position belongs to the Reds. The three teams currently right ahead of the Tribe are all trending down. We'll finish in the 21st spot this year. Next year we should fall somewhere between 15-18. For those interested, here are the actual rankings: http://www.espn.com/mlb/attendance
  9. Excellent point.
  10. We're about to pass three more teams in the season attendance rankings. Building the attendance numbers isn't done over one season. Why are so many people clueless about how this works? Hitting the 2mil is a major milestone for the franchise and a huge increase from last season. Next season we'll be around 2.2 - 2.4 million and so on.
  11. Cleveland needs to support the Tribe more. It really sucks when the 1-15 Browns sell out but the 87-56 Indians are begging people on Facebook/Twitter to come to nationally televised game with a 17-game win streak on the line. I can't blame ESPN for going after ratings. Cleveland deserves what it gets on this front. Over 30k in attendance Friday and Saturday. Attendance is up more than 5k per game over last year, and the Tribe has the 2nd best TV ratings in all of baseball. We're supporting them. Lots of empty seats yesterday for a team on the verge of history. TV ratings are from STO. What about national ratings? I used to remember when the city had no problem filling it to 42K season after season. I was at the game yesterday, it was a great crowd. Tribe's on pace to put almost 500k more butts in the seats compared to 2016. Go a head and continue your spin, I'll keep posting facts. Not spinning. I watched the game on ESPN. Does ESPN own STO? Not doubt the crowd was great but the upper deck was not sold out. The upper deck was sold out on Friday and Saturday. Keep on, keeping on, man.. Right, I'm lying. Even my wife noticed part of the upper deck had no people in it. Are you saying Sunday night was a sellout? No, I'm not saying Sunday night was a sellout. I said the upper decks were full on Friday/Saturday. You're also discounting the fact that a lot of people buy cheap upper deck tickets and hang out at the new bars.

  13. Yep, the season ticket renewals are now up over 93%, which is damn impressive.
  14. We're talking ESPN, not STO. What are they drawing on ESPN? ESPN/FOX is not going to televise games if they're not getting eyeballs. Their first Sunday night game on ESPN was the most watched MLB game of the season. Last night they had to compete with the Giants/Cowboys game.

Indians' TV ratings are up 25%, still second-best in MLB Tribe broadcasts on SportsTime Ohio are averaging a 7.81 rating, putting the Indians on pace to post their best TV numbers since 2001. http://www.crainscleveland.com/article/20170906/blogs06/134511/indians-tv-ratings-are-25-still-second-best-mlb

  18. ^ Is Ohio even in the running?
  19. Funny how edale forgot to mention anything about the Bengals deal with the city. It sounds like they fleeced the hell out of a "weak" city. Talk about insecure: Hamilton County faces a $30 million budget shortfall and has had to cancel a planned property tax rollback in order to service their debt. Yet, the fear of losing a sports team (and the votes of sports fans) have caused local officials to blink time and time again. http://www.businessinsider.com/worst-stadium-deal-cincinnati-2011-7

The depth chart is set, no? Cutting Haden and Bitonio signal "winning" isn't exactly a priority this season...again. Oh well. See you guys at the draft. When was Bitonio cut? Haden hasn't had a good season since 2013....what are you mad about?
  22. Here's our confirmation! Euclid Avenue will temporarily close to east and west bound traffic September 11-17, 2017. The closure extends from East 6th Street to East Roadway. It allows a crane to be placed atop a parking garage at 515 Euclid Avenue. September 11-17: Local traffic will have access to Euclid Avenue from East 3rd Street north traveling east bound on Euclid to East 4th Street to access the residential parking garage on East 4th Street. Access will be allowed for traffic exiting the residential garage on 4th Street to Euclid west bound to East Roadway at Public Square. Traffic will not be allowed access onto Euclid from Public Square and no traffic will be allowed access west bound beyond East 6th Street on Euclid Avenue during this temporary closure. All traffic traveling west bound on Euclid Avenue from East 9th Street will be detoured onto East 6th Street. Pedestrians on the north side of Euclid Avenue must cross at East 6th Street to the south side of Euclid Avenue, and may cross back to the north side of Euclid Avenue at East 4th Street. RTA will publish a schedule to divert bus traffic around Euclid from East 9th to Public Square during the temporary closure as well. After September 17: Euclid Avenue will reopen to two way traffic beginning September 18. East bound traffic will observe the normal traffic flow. One lane will remain open for all traffic traveling west bound on Euclid Avenue between East 6th street and East 4th street. The project is scheduled for completion in February 2019. Expect additional traffic notices as work progresses. https://clecityhall.com/2017/09/05/temporary-road-closure-announced-for-euclid-ave-beginning-sept-11/
  23. So who's the anchor tenant going to be? Harbor Verandas project is next step in lakefront community living downtown Design work for the third phase of the plan—a one-story retail and restaurant building that will connect the Rock Hall and the Science Center along the Harbor’s promenade—is already underway, says Pace. “On the harbor side, you will see storefronts,” he explains. “On the Erieside [Avenue] level, which is actually 20 feet higher, you will see a park on a green roof.” In the meantime, Pace may be involved in the next development project to complete his neighborhood vision. Plans are in the works for a proposed 18-acre development just north of the Science Center that would include market-rate houses, retail, office space, and even a school. “This is a big phase,” he says. “We hope to sign an anchor tenant before the end of the year.” http://www.freshwatercleveland.com/breaking-ground/HarborVerandas090517.aspx
  24. Dan Gilbert's Bedrock buys old May Co., Ontario Street buildings for $12 million Cleveland Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert may or may not be investing in the renovation of Quicken Loans Arena, but he just shelled out almost $12 million to buy the one-time May Co. store on Public Square and an attached eight-story building on Ontario Street in downtown Cleveland. Cuyahoga County land records show a company associated with Bedrock Real Estate, Gilbert's real estate ownership and management company, paid Miami Beach, Fla.-based Euclid of Cleveland LLC $11.8 million for the eight-floor building at 158 Euclid Ave., according to a deed filed on Wednesday, Aug. 30. A separate company also associated with Bedrock obtained ownership of the building at 2025 Ontario St., which also was owned by the same Miami real estate investor. That deed originally assigned a $2.4 million sale price to the building, which once housed back offices of KeyCorp, but was later refiled with a sale price of zero. http://www.crainscleveland.com/article/20170901/news/134201/dan-gilberts-bedrock-buys-old-may-co-ontario-street-buildings-12
