  1. ^Not to get off topic, but it's not like you're moving to Siberia. There are tons of shopping areas nearby.

Oh Brownies, yes I have been following this much more than I should. Still frustrated that we won enough games that we were not at the 2 spot for RG3. That being said we probably would of had to give up too much to get him. Now it is happening again as Richardson is such a stud and someone is probably going to leap frog us and get him at 3. I am OK with Claiborn at 4 but a little disappointing. Slight chance they trade down from here but not likely. More likely trade up which I do not like as should be a bunch of talent at 22 and 37. Sit still and take the best player to come to you as we have multiple holes and will probably win 6 or less games next year regardless.
  5. YUP!

The cavs released him after his second 10 day contract was up. Good luck to him...He played his heart out during the short time he was here.
  9. RTA, regional transit systems seeing renewed demand from riders Published: Wednesday, April 18, 2012, 8:00 PM Updated: Thursday, April 19, 2012, 6:27 AM CLEVELAND, Ohio -- More jobs, high gas prices and St. Patrick's Day have been a fruitful mix for RTA. The Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority has seen rides grow for 12 straight months, compared to the same month a year before. Rides surged to 4.3 million in March, RTA reported this week. That's a 5.3 percent increase over March 2010 and in keeping with a national trend – more people are opting for buses and rail. Last year, transit agencies across the country delivered 10.4 billion rides. That was the highest since 2008, when gas topped $4 a gallon, the American Public Transportation Association reported. http://www.cleveland.com/metro/index.ssf/2012/04/post_5.html
  10. Cleveland actually isn't stabilizing, it is just filling in the "doughnut hole" more than it has, or at least more than the 90s when the city was all about building stadiums. Cleveland, percentage wise (not raw numbers), lost more people last decade than it ever has besides the complete collapse of the 70s. The east side is very empty and gives off a very Detroit vibe. The west side still has a lot of work to do, and Ohio City and Detroit-Shoreway are only seeing the first signs of gentrification and urban renewal. You can go a few blocks away from the hot spots, and you run into some bad looking or decayed areas. Cleveland needs to go on a fullscale development scheme and stop putting such a huge focus on downtown where everyone is raving about casinos and new conventions centers. I am really happy where Cleveland is going, and Cleveland is the reason I fell in love with cities. I ended up going to Cleveland State and majoring in urban studies. But I will not hide the fact that Cleveland has more issues than any other major city besides Detroit, and focusing attention on all neighborhoods of the city is extremely important. I did a lot of volunteer work for the Famicos Foundation, and we did a lot of work on the east side.... Cleveland never gives that side of town any attention. In short, Cleveland's neighborhoods, even the healthy ones, are only just now seeing signs of rebirth and have a long way to go, which means overall, Cleveland has a long way to go before it even stabilizes. Can you provide some links or proven data regarding Cleveland's only in better shape compared to Detroit? You sound like a writer from Forbes. Do you still in Cleveland?
  11. ^ I was just there on Easter for breakfast. Just read they were out to celebrate their daughter's 10th bday. How sad.
  12. The wings at Luxe are great for an app. Excellent drinks as well!

  14. I just voted. We're getting crushed!
  15. How many pages of "signage talk" can we get this thread up to? 98.9% of the people going to the casino won't care...
  16. Thomas returning should make them a top 10 team again. If they get that Tony Parker recruit watch out for another final four run.
  17. Funny all this discussion about robbing peter to pay paul. I've recently met three people from Chicago and one from Cali. Each has moved to the area in the past 6months....Guess what?? All four of them picked downtown.
  18. What made it sweet for me is everyone from down yonder thinking cincy was going to roll tOSU. Well that didn't happen...and we found out the bearcats are still irrelevant.
  19. I was scanning thru the FM channels today over lunch and counted 6 country stations that came in crystal clear. There must be A LOT of people listening to country in Cleveland.
  20. I think Gates will do well against Sullinger. However, the beacats will have their hands full with Craft and Deshaun T.

Cleveland Connects audience hears how city is following Philadelphia in revival of downtown Published: Monday, March 12, 2012, 10:23 PM Updated: Monday, March 12, 2012, 10:24 PM CLEVELAND, Ohio--Cleveland has a lot to learn from Philadelphia -- at least in how it can revive its downtown. That was the central theme of a forum Monday evening. It stirred so much interest that a capacity crowd of 300 people jammed The Idea Center at PlayhouseSquare. They heard four experts speak on how to breathe new life into the city by maximizing the momentum gained through nearly $7 billion in recent public and private investment. http://blog.cleveland.com/metro/2012/03/cleveland_connects_audience_he.html
