  1. @Geowizical Just curious, where exactly is this? While asking this I will thank you for all the recent update photos you posted. it's appreciated.
  2. ^ This was planned awhile ago and absolutely should be on the table https://planning.clevelandohio.gov/lakefront/iactive/poster/waterfront_poster.pdf
  3. Minor correction @LlamaLawyer Terminal Tower was designed in the Beaux Arts style.
  4. So @TBideon FWIW. According to ESPN; It requires an average of 3.1 plate appearances per team game to be in contention for any batting title. By that metric and due to his injury time off, Kwan is currently averaging 2.9 PA/TG. However in the games he has played this season he is averaging just over 4.5 so I've made the calculations and it appears he will require 10 more games at 4.5/G to reach that 3.1 minimum. Carry on.
  5. I lived on Sheldon Rd. during that same time Ken, less than 1/2 a mile west. This place probably accounted for 50% of my caloric intake in the 90's. Sad to see it close. FWIW and pedantic for sure, @KJP the north side of Sheldon is a Brook Park address.
  6. Was it it ever clear to any one here how much, if any, of the development around the existing stadium the Haslams were committed to actually building? I was under the impression that pretty little render they released was to show what could be done if the land bridge was built.
  7. I don't do social media stuff but perhaps someone who does could get the word out to a particular trio of actors that might be interested in saving the Deer Hunter Church. Between Streep, De Niro and Walken, they might be able to scrape up a donation or three.
  8. I had read the speculation that Francona was retiring after this season but never heard it was certain. The linked article below sure makes it sound like tonight will be his last game at Progressive. It's a shame we couldn't win it all in 2016 under his helm but we do have the longest winning streak in over 100 years and a solid record. I wonder if he'll stay in Cleveland. https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/38498193/terry-francona-manager-guardians-red-sox-retire
  9. Construction cam is back up in case anyone needs a fix. https://app.oxblue.com/cameras/60d486ce45de63c7a4a4a944622a8a5d?openlink=Clevelandco/City-Club-Apartments
  10. Good video @Ethanthanks for posting. I agree with your assessment and heard nothing I would argue with. IMO he's spot on but would enjoy an architects opinion on the matter.
  11. I'm told Ian Rapaport is reporting it's a done deal on twitter which I don't use so can't confirm.
  12. Mayfield has requested to be traded. Looks like some damage has been done. I'm no expert but going after Watson seemed moronic. I agree with those who wanted see what he could do this coming season and then decide. https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/33528225/baker-mayfield-requests-trade-cleveland-browns-says-best-interests-sides-move-on
  13. So this is all exciting news but I see a few people expressing concern about the depth of the lake and canals. Might I remind folks that though submarines are faster underwater they are still quite capable of cruising on the surface, I'm just sayin'.
  14. Looks like the Terminal Tower may be in there twice; look center pick.
  15. You just beat me to it. I was thinking $8 million but even that seems quite a bit.
  16. Did anyone hear any details on this " Today something happened..." incident?
  17. So I'm gonna continue just a bit off topic and reply to @MayDay that those numbers (888' roof which includes the crown and then add a 60' spire) are exactly the dimensions I remember when interning at the Cleveland Planning Commission back in 1988; and yes I was one of those skyscraper geeks. Not sure how it lost a foot but oh well. Back to the SWHQ it now seems we have insight that the tower will rise between 600' & 675'. Not exactly "rivaling Key Tower" as reported IMO, but "rivaling" is subjective. I'm still hoping for an 800 footer and no more but 600' .... come on now.
  18. ^FWIW I'm old enough to have attended multiple auto and boat shows at the old convention center long before the upgraded Huntington center.
  19. I couldn't agree more with your "unpopular opinion". I will add that anything less than 600 would be a disappointment and IMO 800 is the perfect height for that site.
  20. My understanding would be that the port authority does not "own" the property but does have a lien on it.
  21. That's disappointing. @KJP Can you tell us specifically where this approx 30 story office tower was to be built or least the general area?
  22. Clvlndr in LV replied to a post in a topic in Urbanbar
@IAGuy39 I have to admit I've never heard of a derecho before; that was intense. Thanks for posting.
  23. ^ My second favorite on that list and I like the logo.
  24. I'm with you as far as that list with the exception of Blue Sox, I actually like that a lot. I think Chiefs runs into the same problem as The Tribe maybe more so in that they're both still to closely aligned to the original problem. That to me is a shame since I really still favor the Cleveland Tribe. A hard no on Rocks or anything like it and lets stay away from former player names. Blue Sox and lets move on.
  25. ^Fall of 1988 Key Tower would have been under construction or demolition well underway. I agree this is MNF game but earlier than 88. Further investigation required?
