  1. ^^ I found this part of the Crains piece particularly interesting: "Chris Kennedy, president of MMPI Inc., the Chicago firm that is overseeing construction and will operate the complex, told Crain's that his firm has letters of intent for 100% of the 235,000 square feet in the planned, four-story medical mart building." "Mr. Kennedy said his company will continue to seek additional tenants, perhaps negotiating space reductions with holders of letter of intent, if needed. He also said the company would consider expanding north, if and when the demand can't be met by the building now under construction." I say don't wait. IMO they should build a couple extra floors now and start on designs for the properties to the north. Again I see this as an opportunity to eliminate the competition before it gets any momentum. Straphanger beat me to it, I fugured people would comment on that part.
  2. I'm not sure either but this list certainly doesn't pass the litmus test that medcity was writing about. Of the top 100 medical device companies (in revenue) only two are on today's announced list; #49 Invacare and #59 Steris, both are local companies. BTW sizzlinbeef the list medcity provided is dated 2006. This list was dated June 2010: http://www.pharmalive.com/special_reports/sample.cfm?reportID=309
  3. Only the ones in blue seem fairly certain. I hope you're right about the rest.
  4. I don't know whether you're running a Mac or a Windows machine; I have no useful knowledge of Mac. I'm running IE8 on a Windows platform, and when I'm browsing a photo thread I can press <Ctrl+> to enlarge the display, or <Ctrl-> to shrink it, to make the photos fit without lateral scrolling. If the gap between preset increments is too great, I can left-click the down arrow in the lower right corner of the browser screen and then select Custom and define my own display size. Yes I'm running IE8 and thanks for the tips everyone. Wasn't aware of all my options which is why I was suggesting the skyscraperpage format. No worries carry on.

^ Ouch! That my friend is just bad luck; however you did take the risky play of splitting a twenty. Come to think of it, if the dealer had BJ he must of been showing an Ace, 10 or FC. That's no time to split queens son.
  6. Just one little request. This may be my own issue with settings or my browser but it would be nice to have a lateral scroll ability particularly for the photo threads. If a thread is posted with slightly oversized photos I have to go to the bottom of the post to scroll over to see the other half of the photo, then scroll back up to see the remainder of the picture; kind of a pain. I don't have the issue when visiting SSP which has a similar set up but does include a lateral scroll. Does that make sense?

Ummmm even those of us originally from Cleveland with nothing but love for Shaker Square and all things Cleveland. Perhaps some explanation is in order. [*]Well I'm sure you know what is taking place here in Vegas right now. [*]I lost a combined $250 bucks at the BJ and craps tables! I'm not accustomed to losing so I'm a little cranky! :whip: 1. CES? 2. You're complaining about $250 and it's before dinner. The night is young, be sure to chase that money and you'll eventually get it back. If you believe the stories; everyone leaves a winner. :-D

  9. Does anyone know how Mangini came to be a ballboy for the Browns? Did he have some Cleveland connection prior to working with the Browns?
  10. Hmmm let's see.... We could build our own military and invade Pittsburgh. :shoot: Seriously though it's nice to see continued improvements in the WHD. Seems like quite a few nice little projects will receive some fed money.
  11. I read that Paul Pierce, after the Celtics dismantled the Heat for a second time this season, tweeted; "It was a pleasure bringing my talents down to South Beach" ... Classic! BTW the Las Vegas ESPN radio affiliate is giving away two tickets to the Cavs vs Heat game on Dec 2nd. This game will get a lot of national hype; it would be interesting if the fans could come up with a unified response other than what I'm sure will be booing laced with a healthy dose of profanity. Is it possible to get 20,000 fans to silently stand and turn their collective backs to LeBum when he's introduced?
  12. Never thought I would see the day when a story gets on line about what Miss USA is thinking and not show her picture.
  13. I thought this was one of the funnier clips: http://www.thedailyshow.com/watch/mon-august-23-2010/the-parent-company-trap Gotta love Fox :wtf:
  14. I view this issue more as an opportunity for a small American victory. Rather than protesting or making an issue of this we should welcome it and prove that no act of terror will force us to abandon one of our core founding values, that of free worship of your chosen religion without government intervention. Lead the world by example and demonstrate our tolerance and celebration of all religions. The more we squawk about this the bigger the belly laugh Al Qaeda is having. Someone mentioned Pearl Harbour and Treblinka as analogous to Ground zero and I just don't see it. Oddly there actually is a Japanese cultural center about 4 miles down the road from the entrance to Pearl Harbour. Maybe that's the magic number; 4 miles. We should close down all the mosques within a 4 mile radius of ground zero. This would include the one that's currently only 4 blocks away. Treblinka is in the middle of the woods on the outskirts of a small village in Poland building even a Starbucks would be sacreligious. This is New York one of the most dense urban landscapes in the world; 2 blocks may as well be 2 miles in terms of what separates the two sites. Besides how hallowed is this site? We have chosen to build 4 large skyscrapers to replace the two leaving room for only a small memorial. We have chosen to build these cathedrals to the true religion of the U.S., commerce. Some perspective: http://www.thedailyshow.com/watch/tue-august-10-2010/municipal-land-use-hearing-update more from the same show: http://www.thedailyshow.com/watch/tue-august-10-2010/municipal-land-use-update---ground-zero-mosque

Interesting read in S.I. Amar'e? Jamison? If they're bait for LeBron, Cavs should avoid both http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2010/writers/frank_hughes/02/17/cavaliers.trades/index.html?eref=sihp#ixzz0fq956xvT "There is only one reason for Ferry to procure Stoudemire: that James promised Ferry he would subsequently re-sign with the Cavs this summer if the trade were made. And perhaps the same would apply to a possible acquisition of Washington's Antawn Jamison: James has to commit to the Cavaliers if they are going to commit to him." "If Ferry executes a major trade before the deadline, I'd like to see an accompanying slip of paper from James promising his enduring commitment to Cleveland. Otherwise it's a mistake" 20 hours till deadline....tick tock..

OK I'll take your word on it. So in your opinion does this trade happen?
  19. Clvlndr in LV replied to a post in a topic in Sports Talk
That makes me nervous as well. If he opts out at the end of the year that does us nothing in terms of keeping LeBron, plus no more Hickson who I think will improve. Does anyone else think it's odd that the Suns have only given the Heat permission to talk to A.S's agent. "Of the two teams vying for Stoudemire, only the Heat have actually received permission from the Suns to speak to Stoudemire's agent. The Cavs, as of Wednesday afternoon, have yet to call." from http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?page=TradeTalkRoundup-2010
  20. Thanks for posting. Now this is the kind of vision for an aquarium I can get on board with. I of course look forward to hearing more details about cost and funds available as well as others to determine how plausible this is. This is the aquarium the city and region needs to bolster.
  21. Very nice! It's been far to long since I visited our nations capital. My business doesn't take me there... unless I get caught.
  22. Happily I report my worst fears and projections were wrong. I will take this as good news: it seems the WPC in NY is abandoning the massive high-rise aspect of their competing medical mart in favor of repurposing other class A space. It would seem they too are more concerned with first to market and most likely feel financing is too far off in this economy. There is no mention of what will become of the site they own and have prepped, my guess is they want to secure clients now and entice them with grandeur later. Odd it's reported in Nashville first (that I know of) not NY or Cleveland. http://www.nashvillepost.com/news/2009/12/14/race_to_market ^ This was a broken link before but seems to work at this posting; hope it works for you.
  23. I suppose I like the look of the old but I now have horizontal scroll and that gets my vote. Was there a way to have that feature with the old forum?

Impressive win tonight, and IMO, very necessary. Hope tomorrow goes as well!
  25. I, for one, had a great deal of fun reading your "digital" paper. Your ideas are certainly part of the best of futures for our city so please continue the exercise. Thank you for your effort.
