Cleveland Browns Discussion
Probably not. The NFL is set up for parity and eventually the browns are going to figure it out and when they do its going to be a lot of fun. The Bengals offer us hope. They were really bad for 15-20 years. Now, they're stable and draft really well.

I'd rather not have a team than become a steelers fan. There are a lot of people who like to jump on the bandwagon. All of sudden I'm meeting a lot of Seahawk fans. I have no respect for frontrunners. Lol.

Toronto: Developments and News
I was in Toronto about a month ago. I haven't been up there in about 7 years and I was blown away. There were so many new skyscrapers. There has to be 50 new skyscrapers along the Gardiner expressway since the last time I was there.

Detroit: Developments and News
The Tigers fans I ran into back in June didn't feel that way. They were impressed with Cleveland. I guess It's a matter of opinion. You do realize Cleveland just built a new convention center with a 30 story Hilton next to it? There have also been numerous renovations downtown like the 9 and new developments like the Flats East Bank. I think this morning's article is evidence of this development: http://www.cleveland.com/business/index.ssf/2015/08/high-rise_apartment_plans_emer.html#incart_river

Cleveland: Immigration News & Discussion
Dream Neighborhood aims to weave refugee housing into West Side neighborhoods CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Kat Oberst Ledger and her husband, Art, recall when West 48thStreet teemed with drug dealers and sounds of gunfire peppered the night. Now their street, near the intersection of Cleveland's Stockyards and Clark-Fulton neighborhoods, is quiet at sundown. Empty houses sit, windows boarded, awaiting demolition. A hummingbird sanctuary and gardens have sprung up on vacant lots. During the last decade, the Ledgers say, the neighborhood has improved. It also has emptied out, thanks to foreclosures, abandonment and urban decay. But the Ledgers could be welcoming new neighbors – hailing from places as far-flung as Bhutan, Somalia and Ukraine – over the next few years, http://www.cleveland.com/business/index.ssf/2015/07/dream_neighborhood_aims_to_wea.html#incart_river_mobileshort

The Official *I Love Cleveland* Thread

Cleveland Cavs Discussion
Terrible article. What was the point? Are Boston fans that upset the Cavs are better? Are they that insecure? Since were talking about lazy journalism and stereotypes...maybe Terry Pluto should write an article about how racism and Boston.

Cleveland Cavs Discussion
Totally agree. This JR story pushed by the National/New York media is silly. The idea JR is playing better because there's nothing to do in Cleveland is stupid. The story should have been JR is playing better because he's playing on a better team with good players. Can't do that because that would mean the NY media would have to admit the Knicks are a sorry franchise. They took the easy way out and made it about Cleveland.

Cleveland: General Business & Economic News
Cleveland State, Team NEO work to discredit job data:The two team up to say Cleveland stats from Bureau of Labor Statistics are very 'unreliable' February 16, 2014 Several watchers of the local economy are mounting a crusade because they believe the federal government isn't giving the Cleveland area a fair shake when it reports on employment. These crusaders from Cleveland State University and Team Northeast Ohio, the regional business attraction nonprofit, say federal number-crunchers unfairly have pinned a “job loser” sign on the Cleveland metropolitan area. So they're challenging the way the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, or BLS, estimates the number of jobs gained or lost monthly in metropolitan areas. http://www.crainscleveland.com/article/20140216/SUB1/302169992

Cleveland Browns Discussion
^Its preseason...I don't expect a rookie to look sharp. He made some good throws and he made several bad throws. Preseason means nothing. Coaches work on situations during games. I read Shurmur and Childress designed plays to see how Hardesty and the line would respond to running plays where the defense blitzed more guys than they could block. Most team run base defenses and offenses. NFL coaches do not like showing too much during preseason. This is why you don't see Weeden throwing bombs. It's hard to assess anyone during preseason. Jake Delhomme tore up a few games during preseason. The infamous 2008 Lions went 4-0 in preseason and then lost 16 straight. I'm realistic...I expect 4-6 wins out of this teams; however, I'm not going to get too upset over some mistakes during preseason. Also, you said you didn't see improvement from the Detroit game? Hmmmm...they ran the ball extremely well. The offensive line manhandled the Packer's front seven(Alex Mack had his way with B.J. Raji), the defense forced turnovers and they didn't give up 100 yards rushing. That's improvement to me.

It's preseason! They don't look terrible to me. Yeah, they have to clean up the penalties, but it's preseason. Weeden looks like a rookie just like Andy Dalton did last preseason. Also, preseason or not, they beat the Pack 35-10. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/08/21/andy-dalton-continues-to-take-his-lumps/

It's always something as a Cleveland fan. We supported LBJ (to a fault) for years and he embarrased us on national tv. Now, we have a thin-skinned relief pitcher complaining about low attendance and being booed. I understand some of his frustration. Still...we can't win.

My Dad works with quite a few hardcore Indians fans that haven't been to a game in the last 5 years. These are the type of fans who used to go to 50-60 home games a year. He asked a few of them why they stopped going and all of them said because Dolan is cheap. I think this has a lot to do with the attendance problems. Dolan needs to reconnect with the fans. The organization needs to generate some kind of excitement. Perception is everything. Dolan needs to take a few lessons from Dan Gilbert.
