  1. The food will be Barocca's 2nd location. First one is in Lakewood and is really good!!
  2. There is a sign for Barroco Grill posted with the opening of the cigar/liquor/wine shop that will be opening on West 6th street in the Warehouse District. I know there is a Barroco Grill in Lakewood. It should be a good quick spot to pick up a bite to eat. www.barrocogrill.com
  3. @darth, I am a member of the My Neighborhood crew. We're excited to welcome you to the neighborhood. Even though I will not be able to attend the event, our organization will be well represented. Everyone else, please check out the Portside Distillery. It is going to be a great addition to the Warehouse District as well as the East Bank of the Flats. http://myneighborhoodcle.wordpress.com/2011/11/04/portside-distillery-to-host-vine-and-dine-an-intimate-cooking-cocktail-demo-with-hayden-wood-sharone-hakman/

  5. Correction: It is in fact re-opening via their website www.beardens-cleveland.com
  6. I've heard Bearden's will be re-opening sometime in September. It was via their Facebook page but I am unable to log-on at work. Has anyone else heard about them opening back up?
  7. I did see notice that Waterstreet Grill was dark the other day. It looks like a new diner type restaurant will be moving in shortly. Sixth City Diner. http://crainscleveland.com/article/20110627/BLOGS02/110629878/-1/BLOGS
  8. Is that true that CLE Clothing is moving into that space? That would be another great addition.
  9. Not sure of a timeline.
  10. I was walking yesterday past the black building on West 9th that is currently being renovated across from Constantinos. I poked my head in and asked the construction workers what was going into the spot and they believed it was going to be a hibachi type of restaurant. Also, I heard that Lust is leaving West 6th and Ace's Grill is moving into the space. There is an Ace's in North Ridgeville. www.acesgrill.com
  11. I live on the North end of West 9th in the Waterstreet Condos and it is indeed very muddy. There is constantly and streetsweeper truck basically washing the north end of west 9th every morning. I also want to point out that dump trucks/semi trucks are lined up every morning around 8 or 830 on West 9th waiting to be loaded with debris/dirt/cement etc. Work is definitely being done on the East Bank.
  12. It looks like we know what will be going into the former Theresa's Pizza spot on Euclid by East 4th. A noodle restaurant called Noodlecat run by Jonathan Sawyer. Never been to one but it does sound interesting. http://www.clevescene.com/scene-and-heard/archives/2011/04/11/sly-noodle-slurping-cat-hints-at-new-noodle-shop
  13. I believe the new Melt location is where the Winking Lizard in Independence is located. I heard the Winking Lizard is moving across Rockside Road.
  14. I was just rereading through their comments and they will be meeting about a Lakewood location. Not a final decision yet. Sorry.
  15. Just saw on the Dim and Den Sum facebook page that they will not be moving into the W.25th street space. I believe they will be setting up shop in Lakewood.
  16. Touch Supper Club has a food truck that they introduced via their twiiter @touchsupperclub. Looking for names.
  17. I would love to see Michael Symon up Bar Symon again but in the Detroit Shoreway area. I think it would do great there!!
  18. I saw a movie crew with cameras hooked up to a truck towing a car Sunday morning on West 9th and the hill going down into the Flats. I also noticed something on East 9th in front of Amtrust Tower that almost looked like movie trucks. This was earlier in the week around 5:30pm. Curious if this was related.
  19. Has anyone heard any details on the property on 1293 West 9th Street? I just saw it in the Board of Zoning Appeals. May need to wait til June 21st. Thanks!! http://planning.city.cleveland.oh.us/bza/agenda/2010/crr6-21-10.html Location: http://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&q=1293+West+9+Street,+Cleveland,+OH&um=1&ie=UTF-8&hq=&hnear=1293+W+9th+St,+Cleveland,+OH+44113&gl=us&ei=bwIQTMqSDJG4NqjWtfMM&sa=X&oi=geocode_result&ct=title&resnum=1&ved=0CBMQ8gEwAA
  20. There looks like there may be another gem scooped up in the Detroit - Shoreway neighborhood!! http://www.clevescene.com/cleveland/bites-randy-kelley-and-linda-syrek-power-food-couple/Content?oid=1893017
  21. That covering looks like it is a paint remover called Peel Away for tough surfaces. I used it on my now exposed brick that was painted over in my condo. The stuff is magic!! The surface will be down to the bare bones.

I would suggest looking at Waterstreet Condos on West 9th. I purchased a 2 bedroom/2 bathroom condo a year and a half ago for under your asking price. PM me if you would like info on the realtor I used.
  23. Not exactly Cleveland, but there is also another movie about the Cleveland area that will be at the CIFF. It is called "Pinned" and its about local high school wrestlers from Lakewood High School and St. Edward High School. www.pinnedmovie.com
  24. There were many bricks missing creating pretty big holes. Many people were tripping over these 'potholes'. Hopefully something will become of this.
  25. Many of the casinos in the boarder states of Ohio don't have other destinations around them. Even in Detroit I have left the casino and gone to a sporting event. Cleveland has that as well as world class restaurants, theaters, museums, etc. to draw people out of the casino. I believe the best reason to build these casinos is to keep most of the billions of dollars that are leaving our state and in turn have those help our region. Dan Gilbert has been here for 5 or 6 years and has already had a more positive influence on Cleveland/Clevelanders then some of those people listed above. p.s. Detroit's struggles are directly linked to the problems with the auto industry and not the "problems" that casinos attract.
