Chris Sheridan is bullish on the Cavs... a little wildly in my opinion. I think this would be cool if his scenario played out and they made the playoffs, but I still think this team needs another lottery pick to grow into a championship caliber team. http://www.sheridanhoops.com/2013/01/27/sheridan-hoops-mvp-rankings-after-week-13/
  2. Did we really want another Holmgren around to collection fat paychecks, lack passion for the position and be lining up his next job from Day 1? I'm not upset at the Browns front office for not signing Kelly. The guy is obviously flighty and would have no problem bouncing on Cleveland mid-season like bouncing on his recruits 2 days after telling them he'd be there!
  3. I don't think the Patriots have the most talented roster in the NFL. They have a coach and a QB and the coach and the QB utilize their interchangeable pieces and parts better than any team in the league for the last decade.
  4. ^ I have a tough time assumming that a guy with at least 12 documented concussions (when concussions weren't documented well) was drunk on air. Maybe you don't, but I do.
  5. A little off topic, but Bernie Kosar is on ESPN Cleveland and he sounds as clear and articulate as I've ever heard. I'm so happy to hear this new treatment appears to be working wonders with him. It was tremendously sad to hear him on the radio and on TV and struggle mightily. http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/8833397/bernie-kosar-former-cleveland-browns-quarterback-finding-help-concussions
  6. ^ Good insight. I didn't realize he was only 255. I was thinking more in the 275-280 range. Also, I fear P. Taylor may not fit in a 3-4. 335 seems too big for a DE in the 3-4. EDIT: I guess DEs should be bigger in the 3-4 to take up more gaps. But it all depends on having great linebackers.
  7. Browns trying hard to lose Chip Kelly....
  8. I read this number (with no NFL experience whatsoever) is zero. But someone has to do it someday. Right? Right?
  9. Just stop. Why because I'm telling the truth?! The only mistake he had was when polumalu baited him into that int other than that he was fine because an inexperienced QB will make that mistake from time to time. The two fumbles by Gordon and Benjamin led to 2 Steelers touchdowns which were the difference in the game. For the game he went 22 of 32 which is a 69% completion rate. I believe that was a good game and showed poise in a hostile environment especially since he wasn't throwing picks left and right. I felt more confident in him leading us to victory that Weeden simply because Lewis didnt make those throws that makes your heart skip a beat that Weeden is known for. He even got compliments from Steelers players on his performance, because he and Antonio Brown switched jerseys. I'm not saying just give him the starting spot but based on his performance he DEFINITELY deserves a chance to start next year. The fact that this is given even a halfway serious consideration shows how desperately starved Browns fans are for anyone a half step above awful. He looked almost decent because Shurmur had a west coast QB for his west coast offense instead of stubbornly forcing Weeden into a WCO QB when he clearly isn't.
  10. Just stop.
  11. Hits: J. Gordon, B. Winn, J. Sheard, J. Haden, M. Schwartz, P. Taylor, J.-M. Johnson (IMHO) Misses: Missing RGIII, Missing Julio Jones, C. McCoy, M. Hardesty Unsure: T.J. Ward, G. Little I think Heckert did well, but I have to agree there were some misses. Not necessarily who they got, but who they didn't get. Watching RGIII go to the playoffs for the next 5-7 years will be brutal.
  12. Just please God no Mike Lombardi.
  13. ^ Why blame the casino? Blame the property owners for neglecting their space for 30+ years. Still think the Columbia building was the bigger loss of the two, especially with E4th spilling onto Prospect.
  14. So, on this new ensemble cast, who knows football? Anyone? Football guys? Anyone? Bueller? Very nervous about the future of this team. And I'm one of those eternal Browns optimists.
  15. No RGIII tomorrow, Browns face Kirk Cousins. I'm pretty bummed. I wanted the chance to go to the stadium to see and beat one of the best young talents in the NFL. Would be nice to win another one going away like last week. 28-13 anyone?
  16. Not sure if this was mentioned yet, but construction on the old Hoggy's on 5th and Grandview is for a new Winking Lizard's. Yelled out my car at a construction worker today to find this interesting tidbit. I'll definitely find my way there a time or two. EDIT: And I see it has been posted. My bad on the bump.
  17. NE corner of Prospect and E9th. Just had to look that up too.
  18. Opening line vs. Washington is Browns -6.5. Wow, one of the hottest teams in football right now. It's just exciting to be talking playoffs at this point in the season, however faint the chances.
  19. This is great for the MM and Convention Area. One of my favorite buildings in Cleveland.
  20. It seems like Heckert is doomed regardless. Power play by Banner. Shurmur could save his job, I think.
  21. Heckert picks with big impacts today again. John Hughes with a sack. Travis Benjamin with a return TD. Juqai Parker and Frostee Rucker have been much better than I expected when they picked them up this offseason. Will be sad to see him go.
  22. http://espncleveland.com/common/more.php?m=49&action=blog&r=17&post_id=9031 Strong likelihood of Lombardi replacing Heckert. Please no football gods. Ugh.
  23. ^ 4 Turnovers

It'll be quick work for the Midwest at the hands (bats?) of the Bay Area if Detroit goes down tonight.
