Fremont / Sandusky County: Development and News
Actual news today! http://www.thenews-messenger.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20080808/NEWS01/808080302/1002 Also, more interesting news today. http://www.thenews-messenger.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20080808/NEWS01/808080303/1002 More chains, but at least this one is good and isn't on route 53 by the turnpike. http://www.thenews-messenger.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20080808/NEWS01/808080304/1002 Extension of the bike trail, I think the long term plan is to connect this and run it from Cleveland, through Toledo to the far western parts of the state. I know there's already an existing trail around Norwalk and Lorain and Cleveland. http://www.thenews-messenger.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20080808/NEWS01/808080301/1002 50 more jobs for the city. http://www.thenews-messenger.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20080808/NEWS01/808080318/1002 Anything that educates people about alternative energy is good news.

One Night in Cleveland - Part 6
These were amazing, and thanks for doing it in 6 parts (for some reason if there's too many pics in one post, anything posted after a certain number won't work)

Fremont / Sandusky County: Development and News
http://www.toledoblade.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20080702/NEWS17/807020427 I have heard this will put a pretty big strain on Heinz and the Fremont Sauerkraut company (both big users of the sewage system). I really hope something can be worked out, because if Heinz is gone then the town really has no hope considering it's size.

$2.25 first-run movies in BG!! Is any place cheaper to see the new Batman?
That BG theater is cheaper than any other places matinee when they run their normal price alone ($4.25). It's more precious than almost all the bars and clubs there.

The Top 20 Albums of All Time
Way wrong, the internet has opened up people to music they never ever could have heard before. There are tons of local music scenes popping all over the world thanks to the ease of band networking on the internet, and getting music is easier and faster than ever. Hell, there's no way I or many others would ever have heard Mort Garson or Devin Townsend without it. I'd say now it's easier for bad music to get to number 1 because taste in music is so much more diverse now and internet based, not old school records based (although a ton still buy itunes for popular songs). Who cares about hit lists when so many more bands can survive nowadays anyways. I think music is a more important part of people's lives than it has been in the past.

The Top 20 Albums of All Time
Go ahead and blame the record labels, my friend and I have been compiling a list of bad 90's songs and so far all of the songs we've collected beats just about anything today in terms of offending the ears (very scientific). We may have had souljah boy, but the 90's had Rico Suave, at least souljah boy has a sort of universal catchiness in the beat and tempo.

Bellevue, Ohio
Mclain's has pretty nice food as well. Bellevue has always seemed a little weird to me, has an oddly large downtown for a city its size but, if you're on the main road, there's not much after you get out of it. I think this town is also some huge train hub.

Favorite Chain Pizza
Of the national chains, Papa Johns. Of the regional chains, I love East of Chicago. And this joke from comedian Neil Hamburger (America's 1$ Funny Man) states my thoughts on Dominos. Why did God create Dominos pizza? To punish mankind for their complacency during the holocaust.

Saint Marys, Ohio
Wow, looks really neat, I like it a lot.

What Kind of American English Do You Speak?
65% General American English 15% Upper Midwestern 10% Yankee 5% Midwestern 0% Dixie Little surprised I got upper midwestern the second most, that's the Fargo accent isn't it? Other than that no surprise, even the slightest southern accent in someones dialect is extremely noticeable to me. My step mom lives in Zanesville and I have little exposure to any actual southern accent in person so I was pretty shocked when I went down there the first time. It really felt (and looked) like an entirely different state.

Fremont / Sandusky County: Development and News
I know this is Ottawa county but oh well, it's an interesting story and the Fremont paper reported on it. http://www.thenews-messenger.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20080716/NEWS01/807160302/1002 http://cmsimg.thenews-messenger.com/apps/pbcsi.dll/bilde?Site=BB&Date=20080716&Category=NEWS01&ArtNo=807160302&Ref=AR&Profile=1002&MaxW=550&MaxH=650&title=0 (picture of it)

Fremont / Sandusky County: Development and News
I agree that the school destruction is really sad. The district is getting 1/3 of the cost covered by the state though and, as mentioned, it uses excessive energy and has a slipping foundation.

Willard, Ohio
I had no idea they were the HQ of East of Chicago, I love their pizza but I seem to be the only one.

The city owns some land southwest of town, so just outside of town. I'm not sure exactly where though.

Miscellaneous Ohio Political News
I'm liking that Strickland seems to be able to identify the root of many problems in this area, this is hopefully a great longterm investment.
