  1. OTR Foundation asks City to look into CPS contract Building Cincinnati, 10/19/07 The Over the Rhine Foundation (OTRF) has raised concerns with the City over Cincinnati Public Schools' (CPS) ideas for land in the neighborhood and are looking to amend a contract. In a four-page letter to the City's Historic Conservation Board, dated September 28, 2007, OTRF Executive Director Michael Morgan alleges that the City is allowing CPS to bypass historic review standards and evade an agreed-upon contract by allowing a 219-space gravel parking lot to be built on the north end of Washington Park.
  2. A neighborhood of houses.
  3. I think we played pretty well today other than the Coles TD, which was just pitiful.
  4. I have seen a few Cincinnati USA commercials. They're not saturating the airwaves or anything, but they're there.
  5. That I don't know. Gary Osterfeld owns those sites, but no plans have been announced to expand the development or anything. I'd bet he's holding on to it to have it developed for commercial uses when demand arises. Alexus Development has bought some sites a little farther up the hill, just up from the cul-de-sac and across from the houses I pictured. I'd bet on some new homes there.
  6. Lisbon has some great old historical buildings!
  7. Nice shots, Evergrey! Your evening shots turned out really well. I know that sometimes those can be a hassle.

  10. It's funny that this article appeared, and then the next day a suspicious arson fire breaks out there. I haven't found out how much damage there was, but apparently it was a pretty stubborn fire.

  13. East Price Hill wants Whittier, new police station Building Cincinnati, 10/18/07 The East Price Hill Improvement Association (EPHIA) wants the site of the former Whittier Elementary School to become the home of a new state-of-the-art police station for District 3. According EPHIA President Dan Boller, Jr, the District 3 station is outdated and suffers from a lack of adequate parking. Fearing a long-term vacancy of the school, Boller and the EPHIA would like to work with the City to acquire the site and to prepare a master plan for a new District 3 station building. In the interim, the site could be used for spillover parking. The former school is located at 945 Hawthorne Avenue, directly behind the current District 3 station. Whittier Elementary had been scheduled to receive a new school building as part of Cincinnati Public Schools' (CPS) facilities master plan. In preparation, Whittier students were moved into the new Rees E. Price Academy on Considine Avenue in August 2006. In November 2006, CPS removed the new Whittier school from its $1 billion building program due to low enrollments and cost overruns. City Manager Milton Dohoney is expected to produce a feasibility report in early November.
