The problem is there was no dollar limit within the legislation that created the OHPTC, nor anything in there that gave Fisher the right to just close down the program, whether the state has funding issues or not. That's why the writ of mandamus was filed, and why this PD article is so sorely lacking.

Here is a mix of photos I've taken within the past month. The Cincinnati Union Terminal photos were taken during their 75th anniversary celebration, including a trip up into Tower A. The Clifton shot was taken along McAlpin Avenue on my walk back from a tour of the Clifton Cultural Arts Center. The Gateway shots were taken along Washington Avenue in Newport, where I went to do a story for Soapbox on The French Gate. Finally, the Licking Riverside shots were taken as I wandered around during the Discover Covington event, and includes some rooftop shots from the Brooklyn Townhomes. ajknee...They also have those black street signs in the College Hill business district. They installed them in 2005-2006 when they did their streetscape project. I don't know the history behind them or the reasons for them, though. It might be worth shooting off an e-mail to DOTE.

MTS, CDM...#9 is either the hand of Jayson (cincyimages) or Joe Wessels. ForTheLoveOfDayton...The horses were there as part of the celebration of the re-opening of A Lucky Step, a contemporary furnishings store that moved there from a few blocks away. The Federation of Black Cowboys was on hand giving rides. ink...These are models designed to lure young professionals. A condo buyer would be free to decorate their place however they like.

Cincinnati: OTR Part III: The Q Blogger Tour
I'm a little bit late in posting these, but here are my shots from the Q Blogger Tour on February 9. A little over a dozen of us got an inside look at some of the projects from the Gateway Quarter's first two phases, including the Gateway Condos, Duncanson Lofts, Duveneck Flats and Centennial Row. We also got to visit the construction site of Tridecka, a building at 13th and Vine being rehabbed by Urban Sites Properties. The final few shots were taken through the window of a Downtown high-rise. I'll leave it to you to guess which one. I would like to personally thank Holly and Michael Redmond, Jim Moll, and the rest of the people working at the Gateway Quarter information center for the brilliant idea for a tour, for accommodating us and our cameras, and for buying us lunch. Thanks also go out to developers from Al Neyer, Inc., B2B Equities/NorthPointe Group, the Model Group, Over-the-Rhine Community Housing and Urban Sites Properties for taking time out of their day to show us around. And thanks to the other local bloggers for their interest! Almost directly across the street from pic #1, which is at 2019 Elm Street. PigBoy...It's even weirder when you go into one of those one-story buildings and realize it's actually three stories built into the hillside with a deck and a city view!

From what I recall, there was a two-alarm fire there in mid-December. The condo is condemned, but I don't think there are any plans on what to do with it yet.

New photos: OTR Part II Here is a series of photos I took on January 26, 2008. The first shots are from the 2000 block of Elm Street, where Bryon Martin is considering building a brewpub if the streetcar is approved. The stone building pictured is the former Christian Moerlein brewery offices. Afterwards, I dropped by Findlay Market. The final photos are just me driving around an killing time, and then stopping off at Two Centennial Plaza to pick up some documents.
