The ad generator is "Down for Maintenance while they address some issues" Take a look at the Just for Kids section. Regardless of your stance on climate change, who in their right mind would think a game for kids promoting melting ice caps was a good idea. Quoted from the site: Right now, the polar ice caps of our planet are melting. That's bad—but it's also good! That's right! It's bad because our planet needs ice at the poles. But it's good because when the polar ice melts, we at Shell can go up there to get more oil, which can do a whole lot of things. Thanks to oil: •Mommy and Daddy can drive to the store to buy you new toys. •Companies like Mattel™ can build new toys. •Engineers can drive to work to design new, better toys that are even more fun to play with. •When you're done with your toys, trucks can take them away to dispose of.
  2. Your mention of this brought my thought to the movie, "I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry". In the background of their apartment, is a poster of an Interurban line, showing stops including Cincinnati and Blanchester (interestingly, Cincinnati is misspelled). I have looked everywhere on where to find a print of this. I'd love to get one, since I am originally from Wilmington.

Strange, I had these thoughts while watching the video, even watching to see if I could glimpse a baby anywhere who may still be living in a rare case. And thinking of the many in the video who would perish shortly thereafter. But chances are everyone in the video is deceased. I forget now where I read this, something in reference to living memory, recent memory, and distant memory. With living memory being that there is still somebody alive with actual memories of a period of history, recent memory, meaning someone living who remembers memories told to them first-hand from the last generation or two before them, and distant memory being nobody is alive with actual memories of a time past, or first-hand account. So while there may be noone today alive with actual memories of 1906, there should still be plenty of people who have been told of this period in history. And even they are vanishing daily.

Very nice. Only about 6-7 miles from my old home just outside Wilmington.
  5. Is it a couch, a sofa, or a davenport?
  6. I read this forum almost daily, and seldom post. But that was a quick reply! Thank you. I was looking at the wrong building. I found it in the photos above, next door.
  7. What happens now with the revolving clock?
  8. How long has Fred Shuttlesworth Circle been around?
  9. Is there really a billboard in Cleveland that says "Visit UrbanOhio.com Today!", or is that a subtle addition made by Photoshop? :-)
  10. The By-pass was to be a "Super 2", but now it is planned to be a 4-lane highway. Many people have expressed concerns on what will be done with U.S. 68 and S.R. 73 from the by-pass to Interstate 71. Both are two lane roads and will be clogged with traffic from the future by-pass.
  11. I too would like to see the plant in Clinton County, seeing how I live in Clinton County, and I like projects that help the county and surrounding area. Additionally, the DHL Airpark will help in shipping the products. Go Wilmington! :-)
  12. It seems they got started early this year. 1st murder on the first day of the year. :-( I can only imagine what 2006's total will be, with a murder already today. I did notice that from 1985 to 2001, Cincinnati never had a 60+ murder rate, save for 1987's serial killings. Then things happened, and we have never been below since. If Cincinnati could only go back to the days of 1998, only 28 murders.
  13. I've heard of Nelsonville. In fact, I'm sitting in it as I type. Traffic is the worst on US 33 around 7:30 am. I have waited 5 minutes or more for an opening to make a right turn onto 33. Full of Hocking College drivers and OU drivers. But with gas prices, now I ride my bike along the railroad track to get to HC.

Did it say some were concerned about noise? What noise do you get from bikes riding past? Did they not want to hear the wind rush of passing bikers? :?
