And there goes the first snowflake of the fall (that I've noticed.)

While I've never been a fan of Weeden, I just can't see Campbell performing at a significantly higher level. Either way this might be a good Sunday to keep expectations low or find something better to do.
  3. ^Yes, of course you can get to the Atlantic, but most transatlantic shipping is done on larger ships than are capable of making it up the Saint Lawrence. So either you have to move cargo from a smaller ship to a larger one, or ship cargo across the atlantic on a smaller vessel which is less efficient. Either way I'm guessing it would be just as cheap to transfer the cargo from a ship to a train on the coast. When you factor in that you'd have to make alternative arrangments for 3 months out of the year, it makes me skeptical of plans to ship cargo across the lakes.
  4. ^Color me skeptical. The lakes freeze 3 months out of the year and the Saint Lawrence isn't deep enough for larger ocean going vessels.

Finley's knee looked down to me when the ball left his hands.
  6. ^Wait, people live on the westside? I thought it was just an airport and a zoo.

^There were some bad calls, but I thought they did ok yesterday. The call on Gipson was incorrect, but it was a hard hit and from the angle they saw it from at full speed it probably looked like a head first hit on a defenseless receiver. I'm ok with it. It's not like they ejected him from the game for it, and as poorly as we were playing it didn't really affect the game that much.

^Haven't noticed him in a while, but I don't work downtown anymore either. The overweight lady with the dead car battery while trying to help her wrongfully arrested nephew was still down there last week.

It will be five lanes but a breakdown lane on each side of the bridge, per federal regulations. The current Inner Belt is eight lanes with no breakdown lanes. Wouldn't it have been cheaper to just build one large bridge? 2 bridges gives them the option of shutting down one to work on it while diverting traffic to the other.
  10. I have mixed feelings about LL Cool J & NWA. I understand that they're influenced by rock, blurred the lines between rock and rap, and hugely important to music, but I still view them primarily as rap artists. I'm not a KISS fan, but they belong there as much as anyone. Nirvana was hugely influential and needs to be there too.

Was I the only one watching the game on Sunday that just wanted the announcers to shut up about the celebration dances?
  12. There's plenty of traffic on 105th as it is and making it into an alternative to MLK would not help the neighborhood, unless by neighborhood you mean the couple of gas stations and drive-thrus. Plus with the rail road tracks as close to the freeway as they are, i'm not sure there's enough room. IMO, 105th needs to be repaved and narrowed. Take the on street parking off and let people park on the side streets. Replace them with bike lanes. I very rarely see anyone ride a bike down the path beside MLK but constantly see bikes on 105th. Cut half the traffic lights. Provide some incentives toward mixed use zoned properties and minimize set backs. All of which would probably cost more money than exit and entrance ramps but it would help the people that live in the neighborhood rather than the people that drive through the neighborhood. (and frankly it would make it a nice street to drive on too.) But of course this all belongs in a different thread.
  13. ^Yes, they're keeping the interior windows.
  14. ^Ah. Ok, that makes sense. They're just surprisingly similar looking in size.
  15. I had thought the Hampton was the same building but it just got renovated in the 90s. If not, the Hampton is almost exactly the same dimensions. (Though I suppose it makes sense to make it the same size so as not to block anyone's windows on the Superior building next door.) The detail on the original structure seems to have been gone long before then anyway. http://images.ulib.csuohio.edu/cdm/singleitem/collection/press/id/9247/rec/18 edit: Here's a few postcards from the 1920s for those unfamiliar. http://images.ulib.csuohio.edu/cdm/singleitem/collection/postcards/id/2744/rec/2 http://images.ulib.csuohio.edu/cdm/singleitem/collection/postcards/id/3149/rec/8 http://images.ulib.csuohio.edu/cdm/singleitem/collection/postcards/id/1861/rec/1

If they trade Gordon, they'll be inviting criticism unless they can keep up the winning streak.

^About the same, but I have played with some of the options to help it out.

My initial reaction was pretty negative about the trade because (like the colts) I assumed his problem was that he couldn't get decent blocks and I hated seeing a player traded for a future pick so early in the season. I'll admit now that seeing him play with a white and blue uniform hasn't improved him and we may have gotten the better end of the deal.

And she hates it, it's slowed her phone down and you can't downgrade. I will not be upgrading my iphone 4, I've heard it's even worse on the 4's. Half the new features in ios7 aren't compatable with the 4 so it doesn't slow it down much. My iphone 4 runs just fine after upgrading. A couple games run slowly and glitchy but they did that on ios6 right after upgrading too.

Cleveland: A great place to live ... unless you're a sports fan http://www.nbcsports.com/joe-posnanski/cleveland-great-place-live-unless-youre-sports-fan

 Nightmare come true? Most of Cleveland had tepid hopes for this season already. We all know this is a rebuilding year but had a little hope that maybe we could pull off a decent season while figuring out who's worth keeping. We still have a little hope, though admittedly a bit less, of an entertaining season. So while I'm no fan of Weeden, we haven't gone downhill that much. Hoyer was better than Weeden, but it's not like we lost Peyton Manning and replaced him with some schmuck that couldn't make a PeeWee team. Edit: I liked the uniforms too.
  22. point 2: which lots Are "perceived" as unsafe? Windermere is definitely perceived that way. Also while it's fine in daylight, but I could see people being nervous at the Euclid park & ride in the evening because of it's isolation.
  23. Besides, much of the opposition is ok with the road being built, just dislikes the design.
  24. I would have two problems with it becoming a megachurch. 1st, I'm quite opposed to any state property being used by a religious group, even if they're paying rent. 2nd, it would seem to limit the use of the place on Saturday nights or Sunday afternoons (not enough time to set up/tear down between events.) Maybe an occasional event there, but every Sunday would be too much.
