  1. ^One note on that. If you find basement walls that have very recently been painted, there's a good chance they're trying to cover up something.

I would assume that the motor shuts off automatically when you hit the brakes.

If the assist is limited to 25mph then it is considered a bicycle and not a motorcycle or moped so no insurance required. You're comparing rotten apples to fresh oranges. The $150 kits don't come with a battery and for the most part look like they'd be crap. For an honest comparison to a $150 kit, try the walmart special. The good kits sell for between 1000 and 1500 that won't fall apart as fast. For example this looks like it's a more comperable kit to what trek uses in their bikes at the link Hts121 posted.

I think my Sunday afternoons have just cleared up for the next couple months. I'll come back after Shurmer gets fired or at the beginning of next season. I don't really have anything much to do on Sunday afternoons usually, but sitting on the couch watching this implosion no longer beats closing my eyes for a nap on the "What's more interesting?" scale.
  6. I wouldn't get my hopes up on that. Garrettsville has been filling up with mcmansions the last decade or so and I don't see those residents willing to listen to a train whistle even occasionally.
  7. The sun rises in the East and sets in the West. So if you live on the West side every morning you have the sunrise in your eyes on the way to work and every evening you have the sun setting in your eyes on the way home. That's mother nature's way of trying to give you a hint that you shouldn't be living on that side of town.

I've noticed my friends had kids in waves. There were a few "surprises" when we were in college, there were a bunch all at the same time in our early 20s, then a bunch more in our late 20s/early 30s (when my kids came), then another batch came around 35 as people started getting scared that they were running out of time. As far as ugly baby pictures, I'm of the opinion that every infant (except your own) looks like either Ghandi, Winston Churchill, or boiled chicken. It takes a few months for a kid to turn cute. (Based on my kids' baby pictures I had a boiled chicken then a churchill.) What's sad is after a few months when some friend posts pictures of their kids and I really want to ask who the parents are because the kid is so much better looking than its parents.
  10. Agreed and thanks. I keep thinking of taking a pic from there, but I don't make it over till after evening classes and can't get a decent pic at night with my phone.
  11. I'd give you guys sunrises, but sunsets? No, those belong to the east side.
  12. I'll never ever forget that snowstorm. My wife was past 9 months pregnant and started having contractions and so I spent the entire snow storm shoveling the drive every half hour in case we had to leave. I'm getting cold just thinking about it.
  13. The criticism that was made when the stadium was designed if I recall correctly was that even if they didn't want to build a roof at that time, they could have designed the stadium so that a dome could be added later.

You don't have safari on your iphone? :-P
  15. Ok, I have to ask. Is it just me, or has CSU beefed up it's police presence significantly this year? It seems like every evening between classes I run into campus police walking around campus. Prior semesters I rarely saw them outside of their cars circling campus. It might just be where I'm walking though. I view it as a welcome addition, not that I ever felt scared on campus, but if it encourages some students to view the campus as a safer place, it's a good thing.
  16. It would solve some issue but create others such as being more dangerous for surface crossings. (Besides being crazy expensive to convert.)
  17. I really prefer football be played in the weather, but if it can bring greater use to the building the other 355 days of the year and it can be paid for with naming rights, go for it.
  18. ^that might depend on the park. In North Chagrin most cyclists take the "multipurpose" path and I've never seen anyone have an issue with it. Most people taking a walk are on one of the unpaved trails so it's just bikes and the occasional mom with a stroller on that path. No one has ever given me a dirty look or said anything to me for riding on it. (Though I'll admit to being kindof an a-hole to a group of people on Segways on it.)
  19. If a pedestrian is on the street (for example in an area without sidewalks) at night they should have either a flashlight or at least bright clothing. I don't see a bike as being special, get a light. My personal pet peeve with cyclists is riding against traffic. If you can't figure out that you're supposed to be going with traffic, you don't need to be on the road. (On a small road with light traffic in a residential area I suppose this might be ok, but it's a bad habit to get into.)
  20. Are we talking about the same neighborhood? It's more built up than Avon or Mentor, but there's plenty of empty industrial lots there. Besides, it looks like they've got enough room on the land they've already got.
  21.
  22. Excellent photos and history as always. It's been too long since I've been to Youngstown.
  23. A portion of the cost was covered by insurance if I recall correctly. It doesn't seem inappropriate to me to ask for an estimated timeline on the repairs now. A multiyear repair of damage from a lightning strike sounds abnormally long to the average person, so an occasional update on roughly how far along the work is would be helpful.

I'm disappointed with the loss, but I had really low expectations going into this season with such a young team. After watching yesterday, I'm disappointed that the defense seemed subpar, I know we're missing hayden, but I thought the rest of the secondary seemed to take the week off too. But considering the Offense took the week before off, they were a massive improvement. If we can get the offense from this week and the defense from last week to both show up for a game, get a few more games of experience for the rookies, keep the penalties to a minimum, keep people healthy and maybe plug a couple of openings, the Browns might do pretty well for the second half of the season. Anyone that's watched the last couple games should see what needs to be worked on. In other words, yeah they lost. It should go without saying that I'm pissed about that, as we all have the right to be, but at least there's a silver lining to this cloud. (After watching Weeden and Richardson last week I didn't see much of silver lining.)
  25. So Jerry, is it safe to assume that part of the repairs is going to include an upgrade to the grounding wires so that this doesn't happen again?
