Greater Cleveland RTA News & Discussion
B stands for "Business", E stands for "Entertainment" if I recall correctly, though I tend to just think of the E as standing for "Euclid" and B as standing for "Not Euclid".

Shaker has the rapid. That is its big advantage and will be what keeps it from becoming like the neighborhoods south of it.

While I had no intention of clicking on that link anyway, telling me there's a video is certainly not going to convince me.

Cleveland: Downtown: Convention Center Atrium & Expansion
My building was built the same year I was. "Choose your next witticism carefully Mr. Bond. It may be your last." -- Goldfinger Ken, neither of us would be considered "new" construction, nor would your building. I'm guessing that a well engineered facility could have a water feature on the roof with little chance of leaking even if it were exposed to the winter in Cleveland. On the other hand, if a water feature were designed by an artist just to look pretty, it might be beautiful but leak just like the pool in your building was probably designed by a building manager, contractor or architect without the proper engineering knowledge and experience. I don't recall hearing about any leaks in the garage under mall A and it has had a water feature for years.

Cleveland: University Circle (General): Development and News
Agreed, the current set up is annoying for drivers and a complete pain for pedestrians. Something needs to be done.

IMO E 105th is 100 times worse than MLK and should be repaved first. And I still think they should've just moved the traffic circle 50 feet to the west and put it on E105th so they could eliminate the traffic lights. Traffic circles aren't that confusing and they have a lot of benefits.

I'm just saying that whatever gets built there will do more good than harm to Blue Line ridership.

Cleveland: Downtown: Convention Center Atrium & Expansion
There is an indoor swimming pool on the roof my building which completely drained into the condo next to mine at 5 a.m. It leaked another time but nothing as horrific as the pool draining. And that's for a pool and its basin that's not exposed to the freeze/thaw cycle. But how old is your building? It could be done, but if it's done right so that it doesn't leak, it won't be cheap.

^True, but when Shaker Heights builds some TOD at Warrensville the blue line ridership should go up too.

^271 and 480 gets enough traffic as it is. They'd be better off routing people down to 490.

Cleveland Waterfront Line Extension / Downtown Loop
That's not the craziest idea I've seen proposed, but I don't think you'll sell anyone on it.

Cleveland: HealthLine / Euclid Corridor
Perhaps you should direct your criticism at someone at the Plain Dealer or Sun. If RTA sends them a press release and they don't care, I don't think there's anything else RTA can do.

Moving to Cleveland from Sydney, Australia
Trying to find a 2 bedroom for $1000 in a nice urban neighborhood might be tough. As has already been suggested, you might be best off looking at renting part of a house. The only places you're likely to find that online would be craigslist or padmapper; you'll find a lot more by driving around neighborhoods looking at signs. The Eastside has more "culture and history" but it's mostly clustered around University Circle. If you don't end up near there, you won't see an appreciable amount more culture on the East side than the West. I suppose it depends on one's definition of "culture and history". I disagree with that. There are beautiful parks to the East, (as nice if not nicer) but the problem is that they're further out from the city.

Cleveland: Lakefront Development and News
If I recall correctly, the plan is to keep the new coast guard station fenced off. (Though I'd be surprised if it's not at least a nicer looking fence.) I'm sure it could have been moved, but since they already own the land, it's probably cheaper to just stay there. Also it's more convenient for the Coast Guard as their regional HQ is in the Federal Building (there's a fair amount of foot traffic up and down East 9th of guys in blue uniforms throughout the day.)

Cleveland Downtown St. Patrick's Day - Recap
^Demand will be high, but not like this. Last year I rode the bike to work and was able to make it home a lot faster than my friends that took the bus. This year, I stayed the hell away from downtown.

Cleveland: Downtown: Convention Center Atrium & Expansion
^I could see it yesterday from the bus driving down lakeside, so yes the pattern is noticable from that distance.
