Well if Hillis is healthy, then we should be seeing a lot more running then passing anyway. Also I have to imagine we're going to see every possible variation of the Wildcat. Still, this isn't going to be pretty.
  2. ^Yeah, because the computer guided Google cars are going to drive on magical freeways in the sky that cost nothing to build, are maintained by garden gnomes that work in exchange for CO2, use unicorns to graze on the grass on the sides so they don't need mowed, and anytime there's traffic, pixies will fly out of your ass to pick up the car and carry it past the congestion. Oh yeah, and the mobile cone of silence will be up and running soon.

^Plus the 18-35 crowd tend to be the least likely to show up at the polls in non-presidential election years.
  4. ^Ok, first you're just quoting a blog and second you're off topic. If you'd like to discuss what Nehst is doing, I'm guessing there's a more appropriate thread in which to do so. But since I'm in this thread already, I suppose I should put up a link... https://veteransbonus.ohio.gov/odvs_web/ The site listed has the online application for the veterans bonus that voters approved last year. I filled out my application last week, but haven't gotten around to sending in my DD-214 and proof of residency. By the way, I still think that it's poor fiscal policy to give a bonus to veterans, but I'm not so opposed that I'll turn down some free cash. (I should tell this to Kasich in regard to the 3C.)

My Daughter turned 4 today and we're having her party at C.E.C. on Sunday afternoon. As far as I can remember I wasn't in the place between the late 80's and last year but I've discovered it's somewhat fun to play in a dated arcade with lousy pizza, obnoxious music, and a bouncer to keep the boy from running out the door when no one is looking. Just a tip though, they charge an arm and a leg to host the party for you ($12 per kid adds up fast when your daughter is one of the most outgoing kids in her preschool & Sunday school classes) which basically involves them making a cake, putting out table cloths, and getting some poor employee to dress up like a rat and sing. However, they're fine with you showing up with your own table cloths, bringing your own cake, and singing without the rat for the regular price (and of course coupons help too).

Personally, I didn't see the need. I'll rarely if ever walk to Tremont from downtown, so seeing that there were options seemed good enough. Then I walked it. Scranton Rd doesn't even have sidewalks in places, and isn't a road I'd want to take by myself again (certainly not at night), then the hill up University wore me out so much I didn't really want to walk any further for a while. So I grabbed some food while seithing in jealosy at your dining options in Tremont, then took Abbey to 20th to Lorain-Carnegie. Abbey was rickety and just felt out of the way since I could see downtown off in the distance and see that I was walking the wrong way, then 20th just felt like I was taking a shortcut through someone's neighborhood. Then the sidewalk on the L-C bridge was narrow, slanted, had potholes, and a curb about 8 inches high that I kept being scared I'd fall off of and sprain my ankle. I've never taken literary hill to W 3rd, but if it's as bad an option as the two I've taken I would support whole heartedly your efforts to get a safe, clean bike route on the bridge.

I'm not blaming the 4th quarter on the defense. They played well for 3 quarters and then couldn't get a break to catch their breath. The offense didn't do anything after halftime, so the defense just had to keep going out there. That would wear out any defense.

My wife and I decided to just let the boy eat the paint chips he finds on the back of the garage, that way he doesn't end up in college at the same time as his sister. :-D

ODOT is taking a survey to find out what the public thinks of the designs. I'm guessing it is linked in one/some of the articles mentioned, but I don't see a direct link to it here (I might have just missed it though). To complete the survey you have to register with their site. Survey

I was thinking the same. A is dull, but I suppose it's almost acceptable, it's the only one that didn't upset me. I can't believe they even bothered showing us option B. Option C looks to me they started with a good design and then ran out of money part way across the valley. Just half ass.

^I love Mill Creek Park, I considered proposing to my wife there.

LMAO How old is your daughter now? She'll be four in a couple months. I'm not expecting to be on time for anything as a family another 14 years. If we decide to go somewhere she has to go to the potty, then find her shoes (which are never by the door where she’s supposed to keep them), then she needs to find her Tinkerbelle necklace (generally this is under the couch), then she needs to brush her hair (but this requires cleaning all the purple doll hair off the brush first), then she needs to change her dress because she spilled something on it, then she needs to change her shoes because they don’t match the new dress, then she needs to brush her teeth (but she doesn’t remember where her toothbrush is or why she would have taken it out of the bathroom), the she needs to get a snack or a drink, then she needs to go potty again… My 2 year old son isn't nearly as bad, we just mention leaving and he's got his socks and shoes on and is struggling with the door. Admittedly one of the socks is on his hand, the shoes are on the wrong feet, he's forgotten that he took off his pants a few minutes ago, and needs a quick diaper change, but none of that seems to concern him when it comes to going outside.

^My daughter was a week and a half late and it feels like we haven't been on time for anything in the years since.
  14. As far as parking on the streets overnight, I've gotten a few tickets for that too but have been able to get out of most of them by calling the police department and telling them that my driveway was getting repaved and I didn't know I couldn't just park on the street. One of those times I was telling the truth.
  15. I don't know how it'll be the weak link, if the leadership of Warren doesn't want passenger rail, then Warren will be skipped. There are several routing options between CLE and Pitt and not all pass through Warren.

It took me a while to get used to texting, but I think I'm finally starting to get hooked. It's just so much more convenient when I'm on the bus or sitting in a really dull class.

I seriously doubt we're going to see a recall. It would be too big of an inconvenience to the people that don't have a problem with the iphone as it is. I'm guessing it'll just be free "bumpers" for everyone.

Could you translate that? Yeah, some of us don't speak geezer.
  19. Personally I'd rather see more of the kind of visitors that like to take transit to the park and less of the kind that prefer to drive to the park.

I'm weird, I never get it and have handled it bare handed lots of times, and even ate some once on a dare. (it tastes awful in case you're curious)

So that's why there's a crowd at the corner of 9th and St. Clair with signs. I was wondering.

I disagree with some of your rules as follows… Picking another team just because they win a lot is unacceptable, but I don’t feel you need a connection to the school to become a fan. For example, my wife went to Kent, I went to Akron, and Cleveland State, my brother went to Youngstown State, and neither of my parents went to school in Ohio, but I’ll cheer for OSU because I’m from Ohio and none of the schools I have a connection with has a decent football team or places any emphasis on their football team. Add the suburbs to this and I’ll agree in general. Exceptions would be if your parents were from some other city and raised you to cheer for said city’s team. For example if I got offered the job I am trying to get in Indy (knock on wood), there’s no chance any child of mine will be cheering for the Colts. There are some rivals that I’d rather see win. If the Bengals or Stealers were in the playoffs I would cheer for them as I know people in those cities and would rather at least my friends be happy. If anyone is playing Baltimore I reserve the right to declare myself of said Raven stomper for the day. Absolutely agreed. The exception to this is if one of those schools doesn’t have a team in one of the sports. Also, if you grow up between two metropolitan areas that have professional sports teams, you may pick from between those two, not some team on the other side of the country. My addition to this would be that you may not, under any conditions, cheer for someone because they claim to be “America’s Team”, or just because their games are regularly nationally televised (Yankees, Fighting Irish).
  25. HA! That was me!! Yeah, and my back is in there too. (Damn, I didn't know the bald spot was that shiny.)
