  1. My point is that we’ve had long discussions on this forum about the wisdom of placing an enormous institutional use on a highly valuable and developable stretch of a main west side artery. I suggest reading some of the Detroit Shoreway development thread if you’d like a better understanding.
  2. And yet they built that new high school on Detroit
  3. I think it has to do with the large resorts. I went to Tulum on the direct Frontier flight and almost everyone on the plane was going to the same resort in Cancun. All of the announcements, etc. were geared towards those passengers.
  4. Retracting ill-advised off-topic post
  5. I don’t really understand how a large park replacing Prospect would draw any visitors. It isn’t a high volume pedestrian zone.
  6. The rockport townhouses are s Townhouses are single family. I wouldn’t consider 161 sales a large number. It’s .5% of the housing stock.
  7. I’m not sure how much stock you can put in data that only covers homes that sold in a 7 month period. Like @marty15 said, a few rockport sales could really skew the numbers in a short timeframe
  8. MLS isn’t a major sports league. It takes in 1/5 the revenue of ice hockey. It’s only the 9th largest soccer league by revenue, below the Japanese and Chinese leagues.
  9. I think people underestimate how much a project depends on the skills/resources of a developer. That’s why I’ll never doubt that something gets done with 925.
  10. They’ll get a tax abatement. The issues are the duration and who is granting the abatement.
  11. Hmmmm seems ambitious I’d like to see a render
  12. Slightly revised as a 4 bedroom duplex with a hot dog stand on the sidewalk
  13. If the developer is willing to take less than 30 years why didn’t they just take the city’s standard 15 year abatement?
  14. Jeepers. I’m very confused by this. Is this article saying that the state agency has power to abate local taxes? And 30 years? That seems insane.
  15. I’ve got no problem with driving ranges but this is a 15 story construction in a highly visible location. Better here than closer to downtown but it’s very ugly.
  16. That netting looks horrible. You can see it for miles. It was the same when I lived in Austin. Very unappealing.
  17. Yes, because cities and the people who live in them in Ohio are absolutely fairly represented in the state and national legislatures. And the representatives are never swayed by lobbyists and special corporate interests. I agree it’s a perfect system and nobody ever wants to ride the subway.

The city edition jerseys are generally a departure from the normal scheme for most teams. Those blue and gold ones are actually modeled on an old Cavs uni tho.

    Love it all
  20. I have been noticing a lot more jambalaya in the neighborhood
