Cleveland Cavs Discussion
Well, he didn't show it in the scrimmage. Lots of garbage and isolation from Lebron, Kyrie, and Dion. Hopefully they were just showing off in front of the home crowd. Delly, Andy, Marion, and Miller showed really crisp ball movement however. Love also flashed those outlets he's become famous for.

Waiters will be in the same situation (without the max expectations) that Kyrie was in this year. There's at least a decent chance they'll be offering him an extension.

Cleveland Cavs Discussion
It's possible, but they will most likely be paying Tristan Thompson and Dion Waiters much bigger salaries next year. It may just be a move that prevents the team from pushing their cap numbers into the stratosphere.

Cleveland Browns Discussion
Nothing about pro sports is a big deal; that's what makes them such an effective distraction. No way you can change the Browns' helmet! That proposed model looks like somebody took a dump on it.

Did the PD ever get around to hiring a new beat reporter? Seems like it's Fedor. He writes like a sports talk radio host talks. Very informal and brash. I hope they hire a real writer.

Cleveland Cavs Discussion
I'm gonna be super bummed if Delly isn't in the rotation. He, Andy, and Dion formed the Cavs' best +/- trio last season. I actually want to see all of our leftover players from last year get hefty minutes going forward. As crappy as they were, I became very attached to the post-Lebron Cavs. It was fun to watch the players develop, with Delly and Dion at the top of my list.

Cleveland / Lakewood: The Edge Developments
The south side of Clifton is all turn of the century single family homes and highly decorated apartment buildings. What's wrong with that?

But none of Miami's big three were as old as Lebron is now when they got together.

What suitable old, empty buildings are there downtown? I can't think of any.

Cleveland: Population Trends
From a PD article posted numerous times: Still, a largely unheralded brain gain has already shaped powerful new patterns. The study found that: •" The number of STEM jobs in the region--jobs in science, technology, engineering and math--grew by 25 percent in the last decade. • A growing knowledge economy boosted wages. From 2003 to 2012, per capita income in the region rose from $33,359 to $44,775. • Younger newcomers are fueling the brain gain. The number of college-educated 25 to 34 year olds in Greater Cleveland grew by 23 percent from 2006 to 2012. • The skill level of Cleveland's young adult workforce is world class. It ranks 7th nationally, ahead of San Francisco, Chicago, Seattle and Austin, for professional and graduate degrees. • The new Clevelanders are helping to create "global neighborhoods" in downtown, Tremont, Ohio City, Edgewater, Lakewood and Cleveland Heights--places where incomes are rising fastest."

Right, like with the occupation of Chzechoslovakia or the evacuation of Mt. St. Helen's. Thanks for the ridiculous hyperbole. Sorry, forgot to include the "This is a joke" header at the top of my post. Crap, just realized I forgot to include it again.

Welp, some video of Wiggins in a Cavs jersey, at least for the time being. http://thacover2.com/2014/08/andrew-wiggins-zach-lavine-hold-dunk-off-video/#.U96Jk2S9Kc0

I wouldn't assume the trade is done just because of more gum flapping from the Timberwolves. I don't doubt a trade will occur, but it definitely feels like Minny has been leaking plenty of false rumors.

Cleveland: Marketing the City
"I think a region’s or an organization’s ability to innovate is as much about attitude as it is about resources." It's fine to think that, but the author doesn't provide any concrete examples that explicate that supposition.

Cleveland Cavs Discussion
Waiters is my favorite player, and I think he's vastly underrated, probably influenced by perceived attitude issues. I have yet to see numbers that show me he's any less of a player than Bradley Beal, a player many in the national media tout as a future star.

Cleveland: Random Quick Questions
Both are nice, but if you haven't been to L'Albatros, you should def go there. I think it's the best restaurant in the city, as well as being tres romantic. Wonderful patio, great cocktail list, and a well executed and authentic French menu. I will say that Washington Place also has a great patio. Congrats!

No, I think you're right. Cavs won't have LeBron's rights until after a third straight season. They'll also have a cap hold for Tristan next offseason I believe, and a big decision concerning Dion.

^Agree. But I think Fitzgerald came close.

The Official *I Love Cleveland* Thread
Ok, last point I'll make, since I am clearly outnumbered. Purely anecdotal but....the square mile around the Q added restaurants, hotels, and residents in large numbers since Lebron left in 2010. The Cavs also remained solidly middle-of the pack in attendance even 4 years later. Point being, Lebron will have a small positive impact, but downtown, Cleveland, and Cuyahoga County won't live or die by virtue of his presence.

That's fine, octuple my estimate and you're still at 50% of what Fitzgerald claimed. Sounds like you don't appreciate the value of professional sports to a city's economy, including the PR attention and prestige its brings. Those are tough to put a price on but are valuable nonetheless. I think I do. We're getting a player, not a new franchise. I appreciate all the anecdotal evidence but I don't think LeBron's impact will be equal to the value of the franchise (or even close) annually. In any case, I'm glad he's back, I just don't like the narrative getting too twisted. Go Cavs!
