Cleveland Cavs Discussion
Yeah, we definitely could have kept Ellington and Livingston for less than what it took to sign Jack and Clark. Maybe they just didn't want to stay?

Cleveland Cavs Discussion
This article (from Grantland of all places!) actually made me feel a little bit better about the Cavs. http://grantland.com/the-triangle/grant-runs-out-of-luck-and-time-in-cleveland/

Cleveland Cavs Discussion
Well, they obviously didn't want Grant making another high draft pick. He was a shrewd negotiator but it certainly seems like he was a terrible team builder.

Oh man, if Hts is panicking you know it's bad! I know it's probably irrational but for some reason I'd rather see Kyrie go than Dion. Kyrie's just no fun to watch this year.

The frontage seemed pretty solid along Breakwater all the way from 58th to 65th. They said the plan was only preliminary, but I was impressed. They also made a point of saying no vinyl.

If you read the article, the Hudson store is mentioned specifically by Mr. Heinen.

Maybe a liiiiiittle bit in Dion? Maybe I just remember his glorious January '13 and am expecting too much. I'm not sure where to look it up, but it seems like he must be shooting much worse at the rim this year, since his 3% is up and his FG% is flat.

Cleveland Cavs Discussion
I'm getting worried that all of our recent top picks have either regressed or stagnated. Kyrie's numbers have been flat since his rookie year, Tristan seems to pass the eye test but his advanced stats are poor and his fg% is far too low, and Dion-he's breaking my heart!

Cleveland Cavs Discussion
Again...40 wins and we're in consideration for the #3 seed?!? Are you saying that if we can't win the whole thing, we should just tank again, and again, and again? You never know what can happen, the Cavs very well could put another deal together for a big man and one of Miami's big 3 could have a season-ending injury. Who knows.. Even if they win just one playoff round, it sure beats sucking game after game, year after year, going on four years. Enough is enough.. no, no, no. i am just saying save the draft picks and ping pong balls for an fa or someone who will stick. why waste them on the moral victory of just making the playoffs when deng is gone and then we are even more sunk at the end of the season. but yeah, deng could stay and certainly other deals will be wheeled anyway for a big man, etc. thats a different and brighter story. I think one key here is that Deng IS still an expiring deal. It's certainly not out of the question that he could be traded for assets this season. If he works out then you can feel more comfortable about extending him, if not he's easily tradeable. It just cost us a few almost worthless picks to make the lateral (monetarily) move from Bynum to Deng.

A player isn't going to turn down $70 million because he's crabby.

It should also be made clear that Kyrie isn't likely to go anywhere until 2019. He doesn't hit free agency until 2015, and the Cavs will have the right to match any offer. It's far more likely he signs an extension before then.

I've been very irritated by the "Dion is on the block" rumors. It's like somebody mentions it once, Bill Simmons repeats it 30 times, then it's all over the Internet. No matter that the Cavs could never ever get fair value for him.

I think the Lakers are overestimating how much the Cavs want Pau. He would be a half season rental/trade chip.

He's counting Battery Park and probably every new housing development in DS in the last 15 years. It is rather shocking to see a councilman stretch the truth. Ha!

Cleveland Cavs Discussion
The Cavs are unquestionably disappointing, but now I'm wondering if it was naive to expect a group of 21-year-olds to be good this early. Who are the Cavs 5 best players: Kyrie, Dion, Tristan, Andy, and....oh god is it Delladova? Never mind, maybe this is just a bad team.

Bynum is still a no-lose, especially if we can get something for him. He cost us zero flexibility. The rest of the team on the other hand...

You're missing a lot of good basketball. This team has loads of talent and is starting to gel. I've thoroughly enjoyed watching the development of all of the young players these past three years.

Portland is just a ridiculous shooting team. I thought the Cavs actually played a really complete game. Too many offensive rebounds for Portland, but all those long rebounds off of 3s makes it hard for our bigs.

The rotation was definitely better last night, but I feel like Brown still hasn't decided who his five best players are yet. Hard to argue with the results last night, but I don't like TT and Bynum on the floor at the same time. TT has improved so much offensively, but he can't post up or get his shots when Bynum is in there. I'd like to see Andy and TT start, with Bynum off the bench.
