Cleveland: Downtown & Vicinity Residences Discussion
There are obviously other Cleveland neighborhoods that offer the same degree of retail service and walkability at similar densities to Cleveland Heights and Lakewood, and at greater densities than downtown. And I think it is a genuine concern to the viability of the rental markets in surrounding west side neighborhoods that currently the biggest advantage they have over downtown apartments is access to convenience retail. If downtown population reaches a critical mass that allows for expansion of a number of neighborhood amenities (besides gay bars), it isn't outside the realm of possibility that it will put real pressure on surrounding submarkets absent regional population gain.

How are those your only 3 choices?

Another Dumb-a$$ List / Ranking of Cities
I think the takeaway could only have negative implications. Flat job growth and a decrease in the unemployment rate can only mean that we're shrinking in population (regionally) or having more people exit the workforce.

Another Dumb-a$$ List / Ranking of Cities
The actual list that is included there has Cleveland in the middle 20 metros. If you average out the rankings, Cleveland would be 56th overall. I should get back to work now.

Vote for Cleveland for this thing!
I don't know if anybody has posted this yet, and I don't know what it's for, but I'll blindly vote for Cleveland for anything. https://apps.facebook.com/offerpop/Participate.psp?c=94604&u=24237&a=153839431317646&p=116634895018479&rest=0

Hey, you guys got to have a bridge built!

New 2010 Urbanized area's released
Some interesting stuff in there. The Boston UA is a bit puzzling. Bigger than the LA UA, and 1/3 as dense. Also Pittsburgh has a smaller population, larger area, and obviously a lower density than Cleveland. Although I think Pittsburgh metro is considerably bigger than Cleveland's.

This seems unsubstantiated.

Cleveland: Ohio City: Development and News
That's really awesome. I can't wait to see the inside of that space.

Cleveland: University Circle: Uptown (UARD)
In addition, a yet-unnamed specialty pizza shop by Greenhouse Tavern/Noodlecat’s Jonathan Sawyer will make its debut in late summer, Wait a sec, I know Sawyer's name was thrown around before, but did we already know it was going to be a pizza place? That could be really, really awesome. Sawyer was the opening chef for Bar Cento, and they've continued making the same pizzas. So if you want a preview you can check out that spot.

Cleveland: Restaurant News & Info
There's really good pho at Tay Do on Snow and Chevrolet and at Minh Anh on Detroit, and a totally awesome variety of noodle soups at Phnom Penh on 25th and on Lorain near 150th.

The return of the corner store
The one on Clifton is no longer a Convenient I believe.

Cleveland: Flats East Bank
^Awful. Although maybe we could structure some "Hidden Cleveland" walks around the Cadillac Ranch, Tilted Kilt, and Toby Keith triangle.

Cleveland: Downtown's resurgance to be discussed on NPR Tuesday, March 20 2012
I guess parking during the day is probably a pain, but I go downtown all the time and never pay for parking. Even when there's a Cavs' game I never have a problem. People seem to think that downtown stops north of Euclid, because there are always spaces available around the mall, East 9th St., etc.

Cleveland: University Circle: Uptown (UARD)
Yeah, that doesn't look like a book store that will be very useful to non students.

The return of the corner store
Constantino's runs another "branch" on Clifton. It's more of a traditional corner store, but includes an expanded beer selection, prepared foods, etc.

I don't think this will be a regular Barnes and Noble? I believe it's more on the scale of the one they run at CSU.

Cleveland Cavs Discussion
Windohorst corrected his article from earlier. It is the Cavs who have the right to swap next year. As far as moving up, I posed that question earlier this week. As a GM, would you take a pick in the 20s to move down 2-3 spots at the top ten of the draft? I don't think that happens in the NBA.

Cleveland Cavs Discussion
ESPN says that the Cavs will have the right to swap draft picks (the pick they got from the Heat) with the Lakers in the 2013 draft. That could be worth 5-10 slots.

Cleveland Cavs Discussion
This trade just sort of felt inevitable. I'm not thrilled with having to pick up Walton's salary next year, but we're most likely going to be way under the cap next year anyways. It gives us another roll of the dice in the draft and lets Kyrie load up on some more minutes for this season. The Lakers get to rent a point guard for one season and make one more legitimate run at a title. I'll be cheering for Ramon to do well, and I'm pleased the Cavs added another draft asset.

Cleveland sports talk radio
^I was being somewhat facetious. He does write about/discuss Kyrie fairly often. I was more trying to illustrate the utter paucity of Cavs coverage to be found on local outlets.

Cleveland sports talk radio
^NPR usually depresses me too much when I'm getting ready to face a work day, so that's generally out for me. The sports talk is too boring, and all of the rock/pop stations have unlistenable personalities. I usually just pray that one of the college stations isn't playing Icelandic drone music and roll with that.

Cleveland sports talk radio
I've never understood the way that football dominates sports talk in this town. To my mind, it makes for a really boring subject. Individual player acquisitions/performances are much more important in baseball and basketball, and more interesting. The draft talk I find completely bewildering. It takes 3 solid drafts to turn around a football team in any meaningful way. The Cavs just changed the course of the franchise with one player, but it almost seems like the stations have forbidden any talk about basketball. I think Bill Simmons spends more time talking about the Cavs than the local stations do.

I love the area around the Eastern Market.
