Cleveland: Restaurant News & Info
I like all of his restaurants, and Chinato is probably second after l'Albatros. I guess I just feel like they're always on the cusp of being really great, but don't quite seal the deal. I still patronize Parallax, Chinto, and L'Albatros fairly regularly though.

Cleveland: Restaurant News & Info
I went there opening night. The food was very good, and they have a great cocktail list. The space is a knockout, but I don't see myself making many trips there. I always feel like the dishes at Bruell restaurants are impeccably prepared and presented, but often lack a strong flavor profile. I would except l'Albatros from this generalization. I did go to the new Spice across from the Happy Dog last week, and the food there was excellent. It's already one of my favorite restaurants.

Cleveland: Detroit-Shoreway / Gordon Square Arts District: Development News
I believe the "emergency" has less to do with pulling council off of the street where they should be putting out fires and administering CPR, and more to do with suspending the requirement for 3 public readings of the ordinance.

Cleveland Rapid Rail Construction Projects (Non-Service Issues)
I would imagine one of the west side commuter stations is second busiest, maybe Brook Park.

Cleveland Cavs Discussion
I was thinking that it wouldn't be that weird if one or all of the Heats opted out after a couple more seasons of no championships, but I didn't realize they would be getting $20mil by the end of the contract. Hard to imagine anyone walking away from $20-$30 mil.

Oh, Stepien. Point taken on that 2013 pick. But by that 2014-15 season, Miami will have $61mil committed to 30 year-old LeBron, 30 year-old Bosh, and 33 year-old Dwyane. Obviously at least two of those players will still be very good, but not "we don't need any other players even though our entire salary cap is committed to 2 30 year-old players and 1 one player in his mid-thirties who doesn't have ankles anymore" good.

Here's a handy list of draft pick credits for each franchise http://basketball.realgm.com/nba/draft/future_drafts/detailed. A few notes on teams we may be looking to partner with: 1. Holy sh!t New York! That team is going to be bad forever. Basically they have no tradeable assets except a 2013 first rounder. They have traded away first rounders in 2012, 2014, and 2016. Good luck with that! 2. The Lakers have all of their own first round picks, and added a first round pick from Dallas in 2012 that is top 20 protected until 2018. Maybe we try for their 2013 pick in exchange for Sessions? 3. I know we're not looking to hook up with Miami anytime soon, but I was just looking at the draft picks they owe us. I didn't think much of it at the time, but those 2013 and 2015 picks might actually be pretty valuable. That 2013 pick is one Dwyane Wade injury away from being a mid-first rounder and the 2015 pick has a decent chance of being a good pick regardless. Of course Kyrie will already be 23 at that point, so we should start to see his production fall off.

Cleveland Cavs Discussion
I generally try to stay as superstitious as possible where the Cavs are concerned, but I don't see Kyrie regressing in any meaningful way. The manner in which he is effective shows intelligence and poise, and he has the athletic gifts to stay at the head of this rookie group.

Cleveland: University Circle: Uptown (UARD)
Agree wholeheartedly. In our trendy/hot neighborhoods: downtown, U. Circle/Little Italy, Ohio City, Det-Shoreway, Tremont and Shaker Square, ..... only Downtown and Shaker Square have a drug store (ie CVS, Rite Aid or Walgreen's), and both of those close by 8p (6p on weekends, downtown.).... While I love the fancy, diverse restaurants, our hot neighborhoods tend to be a little unbalanced. Supermarkets (which most have) are great, too, but 24-7 drug stores, with their diverse products and services, are really important ... even though not "sexy". I mostly agree, although DS does have a drugstore. I'd really like to see this development fill in with more "Revcos" and less "izakayas".

I'm gonna go waaaaay out on a limb and say that LeBron won't be coming back to Cleveland. I don't care how sorry he is. He can suck on my big fat thumb.

^I'm actually not sure how I feel about it. I only meant "liable" as in "likely, or probable". The likelihood that a mid-first pick would be as good or better than Andy is pretty low. A lottery pick on the other hand......
-
Cleveland Cavs Discussion
It sure looks like Andy is out to prove he's not a novelty. Chris Grant is gonna have a tough decision at the trade deadline. The way Andy is playing, we're liable to get a mid-first round-to-lottery pick offered.

Cleveland: Downtown Aquarium
^I definitely have my doubts about the aquarium, but that kind of wholesale dismissal without even visiting it seems unwarranted.

That also depends on where you live in CH. Maybe Cedar-Lee, but for some of the other neighborhoods recommended, you could spit at the hospitals with the right wind. That's true. I guess I was just trying to illustrate that unless you're within walking distance, the times of commutes from the Heights vs. commutes from the near west to UC are practically negligible.

If you live near the freeway on the west side, it doesn't take more than an extra five minutes to get anywhere on the east side than it would take from CH or SH, going the opposite way of rush hour traffic.

It might be worth checking out Battery Park also. http://www.batteryparkcleveland.com/index.cfm?action=Occupancy It's close to the freeway, restaurants, outdoor activities at Edgewater and Wendy parks, and is about a 15-20minute drive to the Clinic. Also has indoor parking.

Cleveland Cavs Discussion
I agree he wasn't adept at finishing with authority. But he definitely had at least 2 go-to post moves. One was the short turnaround from the block, the other was the "up and under" move that he mastered and proved to be quite effective.

Cleveland Cavs Discussion
There was absolutely nothing mediocre about Z. At his peak he averaged a 17/8 with 2 blocks a game. A seven-footer who puts up those kind of numbers and has good hands with range out to 18 feet is an absolute rarity in the NBA. His numbers stack up to any big man of his time. It's also a stretch to say he was injury prone. Yes he missed big chunks of time early in his career, but played over 60 games 11 years in a row well into his 30s, including a stretch of 6 years where he never missed more than 4 games. http://www.basketball-reference.com/players/i/ilgauzy01.html

I guess I'll take $200,000 townhomes. As long as they cost more than my house did.

Cleveland: Detroit-Shoreway / Gordon Square Arts District: Development News
At least these ones are somewhat appealing, as opposed to the crap that was built on the rest of Bridge. And, as a neighborhood homeowner, I would encourage developers to cram as many $300,000 townhouses into the area as possible. Gentrification can't happen fast enough for me!
