Trip to Toronto
Toronto is great. I'll second going to Chinatown, Queen West (lots of good lunch/brunch places), and Kensington Market which are all within walking distance of each other. I'll add Little Italy/Portugal (also near Queen West) and Little India, which is on the other side of town north of Queen Street East. I don't want to blaspheme on this site, but I'm always surprised how easy it is to drive around center city Toronto (the freeways around the city are another matter), so it's possible to see a lot in a short time and parking is generally a cinch. This won't apply for your trip, but when we visit we like to pack the bikes, which is a really great way to get around Toronto.

Cleveland Cavs Discussion
I made the argument earlier that Andy makes too much money to keep around a rebuilding squad, but then I thought better of the Cavs' situation. It's hard to find someone as reliable as Varejao is on defense. I wouldn't normally want to invest that money in a "4th best" type player, but by next year our three best players could conceivably all be on rookie contracts. That would give the Cavs a lot of flexibility to keep Andy until Kyrie and Tristan come out of their rookie deals.

Portland did a good job keeping the Cavs out of the paint, and since our outside shots weren't falling (especially the 3-pointers!) we didn't stand a chance in that game. The Cavs actually had one of their best nights in the paint against the Blazers, getting 46 points from close-in for the game. They just couldn't get any 3s to drop, and Portland figured out their d.

Cleveland Cavs Discussion
Ugly game especially on offense tonight. But I was impressed by the cavs' defense for most of the game. Also, Kyrie had a couple of drives to the hoop that few other pgs could have made. He seems to be adjusting to the taller NBA trees at the rim.

There is absolutely nothing disappointing about Irving. I know it's stupid to make these kind of comparisons, and the talent levels are obviously pretty far apart, but anybody doubting Kyrie right now should take a short walk over to basketballreference.com and compare LeBron's per 36 rookie stats to Kyrie's. yep.

^^What's the complaint? It sounds like there are already offices in the complex and the theater is being retained. The owner donated the complex to the local development corporation and it's going to be renovated. What would you have them do?

Cleveland Cavs Discussion
^^Jamison is going to be logging heavy minutes a long as he keeps scoring and/or continues to make himself a valuable piece of trade bait. The Cavs also have Samardo Samuels and to a lesser extent Varejao blocking Thompson's path to increased minutes. Scott also seems to be handing half of the playing time at pg to Sessions. As long as that persists Kyrie will get 20-25 minutes per game. I feel like the Cavs are definitely trying to showcase Jamison a bit in advance of a trade. I also think that Scott and the front office believe they have some potential young rotation players that they would like to develop. Samuels, Gee, and Hollins() have all shown that they might be solid 8th-10th men on a contender.

Dim Sum at Li Wah would be a nice off-the-beaten-path lunch option close to downtown.

Hts., it makes me nervous to read optimistic posts about Cleveland sports. I feel like you're jinxing Irving and the team's future. Will you please post something a bit more ominous concerning the Cavs' future to balance out the bad juju you've generated?

Andy's contract is marginally cap friendly this year, then goes to $8.4 mil next year, $9.1 mil in 2013, and nearly $10mil (team option) in 2014. 15% of your cap space is a lot to have dedicated to your 4th or 5th best player.

I agree trading Andy is probably the right move, more than likely the sooner the better. You may be able to get a late first rounder for him from a contender. I'm not sure about Boobie. He definitely has value, and shooters like that are hard to come by. If we were contending next year I would say keep him, but it's obviously going to be longer than that. Sessions I feel we should keep. He's a perfect 2nd point guard and he's young. I don't think we'd get much more than an early 2nd rounder for him.

Rookies lookin' nice tonight. I'd like to see Kyrie and Tristan on the floor at the same time. Tristan looks eager to test his post game and Kyrie has some serious court vision.- Cleveland Cavs Discussion
I was concerned that Irving had 3-4 layups blocked. I know that getting to the hoop and finishing is supposed to be one of his main strengths. I hope it's something he can adjust to.- Cleveland: Restaurant News & Info
Interesting, because L'Albatros's menu is only one page. Yeah, one page with 58 items (yes I counted).- Cleveland: Flats Developments (Non-Stonebridge or FEB)

I would rather have Cuddyer at $9mil a year than Willingham at $7mil a year. Maybe the tribe will try to get Cuddyer or Jason Kubel (even though he's a lefty)?- Cleveland: Detroit-Shoreway / Gordon Square Arts District: Development News

The trade should have probably gone through, and I do wish that Dan Gilbert would keep it quiet for the most part. But ESPN's coverage of this non-trade has been terrible. They are showing exactly how biased they are in favor of player movement.- Cleveland: Warehouse District: Development and News
The vast anti-density conspiracy strikes again! I'm telling you, it's real and it's the #1 problem in this town. http://www.urbanohio.com/forum2/index.php/topic,26612.0.html I would have said the collapse of heavy manufacturing.- Cleveland Cavs Discussion
I could see keeping Sessions and Davis this year, trading davis' expiring contract next year, and keeping sessions as a backup pg (his ideal position). I don't see any point in the Cavs using their amnesty on Davis, since nobody expects them to be good this year, and his contract will be valuable next year. I'd like to see them move Jamison, but I don't know what they'll get for him (2nd rounder?) Just please god don't let Baron Davis end up on the Heat.- NBA: General News & Discussion
I'm very excited to see Kyrie play and find out what Tristan Thompson is about. I'd rather watch awful basketball than awful football any day of the week (although I watch plenty of both).- Cleveland Browns Discussion
