Cleveland Cavs Discussion
I'm not saying the cavs would've or should've drafted sullinger had he elected to leave early, but your basketball IQ is less than average. JJ Hickson is a decent 4 man and he's 6'8" on his best day. Please forgive me for my mental handicap! I will be more careful in the future when pointing out that Sullinger is fat and can't jump and will have all of his shots blocked and that being a successful big in college is about as important to pro success as your college grade point average. Raspberry!

Cleveland: Current Ethnic Neighborhoods
It should be noted that the Latino population is shrinking on the Near West Side (along with every other group) but growing rapidly in Old Brooklyn, Cudell, Edgewater, etc. It's the familiar "flight" pattern that has been playing out city-wide for decades.

Cleveland: Food Trucks/Carts News & Discussion
I believe these businesses have already received loans from the city to open their businesses? I agree that city council is almost entirely awful but I don't feel all that sorry for the truck operators either.

Access to Cleveland's Horseshoe Casino
We could just SAY that the Casino is located at the West Park Rapid and that the Rapid is just a Monorail that connects the parking lot to the Casino!

NBA: General News & Discussion
Definitely an odd move. Green has value as a third option with two superstars, but not much as a bench guy getting 20 minutes a game on a team with 4 all-stars in front of him. Perkins is a perfect rotation guy who doesn't need the ball to be effective and who rebounds and blocks shots.

Boston is about to have an INFINITE ratio of attendance per victory!

Cleveland Guardians Discussion
In case you haven't noticed, and judging by the attendance you haven't, the Indians have managed to win a few here and there, and are threatening to climb out of the cellar.

I believe Htsguy is talking about the crushing disappointment of seeing this thread bumped only to discover that it's a conversation about taxi service.

Cleveland Guardians Discussion
We've had the worst teams in all three for the past 50 years!

Cleveland Guardians Discussion
I prefer more equanimity in my fandom; I waste equal amounts of money on all three horrible franchises. However, I feel it's the enormous amounts of time, the great chunks of one's life that are frittered away that truly show the mark of a true fan and a stupid person.

Cleveland Guardians Discussion
The Indians haven't really shown that they can make a run every five years. They've shown that in the past 57 years they can make one awesome 7-year run and 2007 (I might give you 2005). I love the Tribe, though, so I will hopefully be taking your advice, Hootenany.

Cleveland Guardians Discussion
Plus, better teams attract better local tv contracts, improved merchandise sales, etc. Is it because it's hard to think about all those things at once and you don't want to work very late Mr. Dolan? I mean, the amount of talent the Indians have dispersed into the majors since their 2007 run is astounding, and they have virtually nothing to show for it. They missed on LaPorta, they probably missed on Brantley, they got nothing for Victor. Casey Blake for Carlos Santana is the only trade that's given us anything. Growl

Cleveland Guardians Discussion
I really can't fathom the logic of trading CC, Lee, and especially Victor for nothing. It seems kind of obvious that we would attract 10-20 thousand more a game if we had held on to those three. Maybe the attendance wouldn't totally offset the salaries, but it would come pretty damn close. I understand maintaining the bottom line, but why did you buy a baseball team if you had no intention of investing in it? It's so frustrating.

Cleveland Cavs Discussion
I was thrilled when Sullinger said he was going back to Ohio State. Not because I like Ohio State but because I was afraid the Cavs would draft him. I hadn't considered the fact that maybe somebody else before or in between the Cavs' picks might take a shot at him, improving the Cavs' options. It seems like an odd choice for these kids to go back to school. I can't imagine them improving their draft stock, since Sullinger and Barnes seemed like sure-fire top-ten (top five?) picks. On that note, a fat kid who can't run or jump, plays the four, and is only 6'9" was considered a top-three pick? Ugh.

That's true. But what they actually paid was $43.6 mil. (the rest was federal dollars.)

Cleveland Cavs Discussion
I still can't get my mind (the basketball part) off of Perry Jones. Seven footers who run and ballhandle like that are few and far between.
