Cleveland: Census Results
I know I'm just playin'. MTS hates one of the terms but I can't remember which one it is.

Cleveland: Census Results
Also surprised to see the extent of the Hispanic movement out of the near west side. Most of the tracts in Old Brooklyn are near 20% Hispanic. Or 20% Latino. I can't remember which one I'm supposed to use. Where is MTS?

I was able to find some of that information here: http://factfinder2.census.gov/main.html Just go to the address search in the lower right.

Cleveland: Detroit-Shoreway / Gordon Square Arts District: Development News
Oh I don't think it's a failure. I'm glad they're doing well. It's just disappointing to me because I thought I would have a nice "regular" bar to go to around the corner instead of a W.6th/weekend warrior type bar. To each his own however, and I must say I'm very happy with our decision to buy in the DS. I also think Cleveland has far too few "hipster bars". Outside of the Happy Dog there aren't really any in DS and Ohio City.

A disappointment in that I wanted to have another nice bar to go to in the neighborhood, but instead I got graduate school for the Treehouse.

p.s. I don't mean gay bars when I say amenities.

Ohio Cities' Downtown Population
Why so few amenities in downtown Cleveland, then? Is it because our downtown is more spread out? Or does the population tilt more low-income?

Cleveland: Detroit-Shoreway / Gordon Square Arts District: Development News
Just bought a house in the neighborhood. Definitely some exciting developments, but I think XYZ and Roseangel are big disappointments. I nearly got puked on walking into XYZ the first time, and the scene inside still gives me nightmares: badly dressed late-twentysomethings dancing and singing "Shook Me All Night Long". Fortunately "Don't Stop Believin'" came on next, which seemed to settle them down (actually way worse).

Thrify stores west side of Cleveland?
Value World in the Westown shopping plaza @ 110th and Lorain is my favorite. It doesn't get picked over quite as thoroughly as Unique.

Cincinnati: Restaurant News & Info
bumsquare replied to The_Cincinnati_Kid's post in a topic in Restaurants, Local Events, & EntertainmentThe Hanna Restaurant has a really cool "Old School Downtown" feel to it at lunch. I'm not sure if that translates to the pre-theatre hours.

Ohio Census / Population Trends & Lists
I wouldn't expect to see growth in Clark/Fulton anytime soon. Lots of houses are coming down there and the foreclosure crisis hit there almost as hard as anywhere in the city.

I don't think we can make any judgments about the Medical Mart until we see how it interacts with the Rock-o-meter.

Cleveland Cavs Discussion
The thought of dealing with Boston and Chicago makes me ill. I guess we're living in different times, though.

Cleveland Cavs Discussion
The Cavs are probably done making moves for the moment (unless they can flip Davis somehow). I wouldn't be surprised if they added another pick after the season using the trade exception, though.

Cleveland Cavs Discussion
The Cavs should be far enough under the cap next year that taking on Davis's salary won't matter. I guess it works out for both teams, but I think the Clippers were a little lax in just giving up a lottery pick and not improving their talent. Unless they can use the cap space to get one of the 2012 guys, it's not gonna be worth it for the Clips. They do have a metric sh!t-ton of cap space in 2012, though.

Cleveland Cavs Discussion
I agree that the draft is weak, but I think a little extra salary obligation for next year is worth the gamble of finding something in the lottery.

Cleveland Cavs Discussion
Yeah the pick is unprotected. Everything I've read seems to say that the Clippers got the best of this deal, but from my perspective, Davis and Williams are a wash talent-wise. So we basically got a lottery pick in exchange for Jamario Moon and a bit of cap room. Fine by me!

^Yeah I'd like to see them win a few in a row. Don't win too many though :-D
