Anybody see the new "Lost"? It was awesome. Yeah, definitely enjoy watching lost.
  2. I guess I couldn't tell you what every single person is thinking when they are at the market, but I'm pretty sure the produce sells pretty well. I buy all of mine there because it's cheap, especially when it comes to things like fruit and herbs.
  3. Actually, it's kind of funny after all I said because that's the stand I buy most of my stuff from. They have a wide selection of herbs for a dollar. They also sometimes have tubs of arugula for a dollar. The lady who runs it is always very friendly and they carry a broad variety of produce at really low prices.
  4. I believe that knock is probably well-deserved. I just wouldn't want the market to change into a place that caters too much to foodies at the expense of providing ridiculously cheap produce to a wide variety of people. Also, poblanos now available at the western-most produce stand on the north side!
  5. I understand wanting to eat local foods. But I don't like the idea of trying to force the market to be something that it isn't. I really think the charm of the market is its ability to draw a diverse crowd (vendors and shoppers). Cheap produce is the fuel that drives that engine.
  6. Those murals are unbelievable.

Again, I don't think this is about being fairweather. It's not like thousands of Cavs fans started rooting for the Lakers or Magic after Monday night's loss. I think many of us were simply deflated and thinking "here we go again with another Cleveland sports team." No, not naturally pessimistic. Trained like a goddamned mule to be pessimistic. I'm still trying to recover from the '07 Indians. We were up 3-1 and I'll bet 85% of Indians' fans knew Boston was going to come back in that series. If it rains for 46 years straight and you say, "It's probably going to rain today," it just makes you a realist. Go Cavs!

Beautiful city, and delightfully grimy around the edges.
  9. Also, you could buy a beer out of a soda machine there! It's worth the trip just for that experience.
  10. They sell Indigo Imp 6 packs at Heinens. You can buy Indigo Imp at lots of places.
  11. I believe it's Barcelona? I just googled "giant dildo".

Yeah but Boston's a horrible place filled with racist neanderthals.

I don't know why I let the anti-Cleveland things get to me. I went right to that link and read a little bit, then I was all like, "I'm gonna show these Chicago pr!cks what my town is all about!" Then I realized it was a SPORTS BLOG. I would still like to punch that writer in the face, though.

Who wants to go to the California Fashion Mall with me!?
  15. Totally awesome. It seems we rarely ever get to see these slice-of-life pictures.
  16. The meals I've had at the Greenhouse Tavern are some of the best I've ever had. The clams in foie gras broth, the wings that approach the decadence of confit, the lamb steak still redolent of the cud, the sublime earthiness of the radishes with butter. I think Sawyer gracefully walks the line between simplicity and craft, and his food bears the mark of those keen sensibilities.
  17. They had a location open for a brief time on 25th that closed (no liquor!). I'm pretty sure the Madison one is still open, though. And.....Rockport Square looks good and the new Lakewood library.
  18. Too bad they don't make a softer sandwich.
  19. There are three great Mexican restaurants between 85th and 117th towards your neck of the woods: Villa Zapata, Luchita's, and Mi Pueblo.
  20. You can thank Jesus if you want, but you should also be thanking the Van Swerigen brothers. If only we could resurrect them to lead Greater Cleveland's TOD efforts!! And for leading the exodus out of the city, and excluding Jews and blacks from living in Shaker Heights!
  21. It may not be a good choice to use acronyms or employ asterisks as punctuation when criticizing someone else's grammar.
  22. For a while in Cleveland (maybe still) realtors were trying to call south of Lorain "SoLo". Also very obnoxious.
  23. Battery Park without the context.

What a coincidence! One of my pet peeves is women NOT showing their parts off.

The Cavs will already be over the salary cap next year before signing Lebron, Shaq, or Z. I would imagine those three players will be the best options available as far as free agent signings for the Cavs. Not a whole lot of talent signing for the MLE.
