  1. I'll be getting out my sharpie and posting a sign in my window. I know CFP is just a volunteer organization so i won't get on them too hard. They're doing more than i am for this...so, it's tough to complain too much.

Which? Where the Wild Things Are or Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs? MTS, if i get it from the library it won't really do much for sales figures.

Sony? I just looked it up and it seems to have gotten fairly good reviews. I might have to check it out now...i won't rush out...but, i'll take a look. maybe get it from the library eventually.

yet another awesome children's book was Cloudy with a chance of Meatballs. Sadly, the movie adaptation looks horrible.

I'm really glad that i didn't try to get a job with MTS and by some miracle passed his rigorous interview process and gotten hired only to be fired weeks (maybe months) later for lack of drive, focus, grooming, ability, etc.
  9. (I'd like to point out that Michigan State, if not for 2 unfortunate plays would be 4-1 right now. should have beaten ND and lost to CMU after a lucky on-side kick...not an excuse...but, they're a short hair from being 4-1) Is UC better than NW, Illinois and Indiana? probably. Could they beat MSU this year? yeah...probably. I'd still put them roughly in the middle of the Big 10.
  10. Say Yes to 9:20 on 91.7 WVXU, today. I think that's when they said they'd be having an Issue 9 discussion.
  11. The idea that preseason rankings don't give an advantage to the top teams is laughable. If a team is in the top ten at the beginning of the season and play a cream puff schedule and do what they should...they're going to stay in the top 10. Once they get to week 8 the polls are reflected in the BCS standings. Any team that is ranked in the top 5 before the season begins has an advantage over any team that is ranked lower. And, btw, the Big East is the weakest conference.
  12. I'll go back on topic and say that i don't think UC currently should be ranked as high as OSU because i don't believe they've played any team like OSU did with USC. I think that we should not be discouraging teams from playing a tough non-conference schedule. Also, I don't believe in pre-season rankings because in typical years (this is not one of them) it is very difficult for a team not in the top 25 to make it to a BCS game.
  13. The people that seem to have information about it don't want to talk about it...so, i suspect there won't be another thread. I've heard that people from SCPA don't want a new building and don't want to change the name and all of that. Maybe the schools could have saved the money and just let them sit. As an outsider (but now a taxpayer) it sounds rather ungrateful.
  14. Why is that all you can say? is there some sort of legal gag-order on this? or is it just wild speculation and allegations?
  15. Yep. Spartan, through and through. I don't hide it. I've met many people in Cincinnati that talk about "us" and "we" interchangeably with "UC" and "Ohio State." After the superbowl two years ago one guy was talking to another about how great it was to see one of "our" guys get the game winning catch. He was talking about Santonio Holmes. One of them went to UC the other to Miami. When we're talking about Michigan fans we refer to these folks as Wal-mart Wolverines.
  16. Wow, aren't we vain. my comment has nothing to do with you personally, and instead to do with most of the UC fans that i've met down here. Until last year (maybe the year before) they were OSU fans. Now that UC has a team they're jumping on the bandwagon as fast as they can. I believe in loyalty to a team. I have one team that i root for (happens to be my alma mater) in college, one in the NFL, MLB, NHL and NBA. I don't believe in divided loyalties and i have strong feelings about people that didn't go to a school talking trash. I didn't hate Ohio State nearly as much until i moved here and everyone i met told me how much they hated Michigan when they found out i lived there. They're worse than Michigan fans down here.
  17. I wonder if the relatively cool summer we had contributed to that. I would have expected that violent crimes would be up in this economic climate. The connection between weather and crime is really weird...(not winter...that makes sense...but hot summers = bad crime...it's just strange)
  18. From what i've read Kunzel put more into that school than any of those kids. What brats. E.K.S.C.P.A seems like a good name.
  19. This is one of the reasons i don't like either team. I don't typically care to comment...but, i do think that it's ridiculous that UC is ranked so high after playing a pretty lousy schedule. If this thread is only for boosters, then i'll stay out of it. I didn't know criticism would be taken so poorly.

I sure do feel bad for Chicago and their poor, antiquated light rail and Metra system...not to mention the loads of people living in the city and being the hub for passenger rail for the entire midwest. If only Chicago could be more like Detroit. :-P
  21. I'm not happy with any team in Ohio being in the top 25...but, that's just me personally. as far as schedules: UC has played Ruters (3-1), South East Missouri State (1-4), Oregon State (3-2), Fresno State (1-3), Miami OH (0-5). Ohio State has played: Navy (3-2), USC (4-1), Toledo (3-2), Illinois (1-3), and Indiana (3-2).
  22. What are the records of the opponents for both OSU and UC? I'm not a fan of OSU (they're up among my most hated list) but i don't see how it's possible that UC could be ranked higher.
  23. ^^looking at that picture, i have to ask...did the people in the buildings directly north of QCS used to have a nice view of the river and the stadium? And now are they basically going to be looking into the tower? because that would sort of suck. The tower is really impressive though. I like seeing the construction of it through the PG towers as i come down 71 in the morning. It's pretty cool. Edit: nevermind, i think the angle of the picture threw me off...looks like there really aren't any tall buildings due north of QCS.

Zicam i can deal with...cold-eeze drops are disgusting. I'll get the flu shot probably pretty soon...my doctor has recommended it (shocking, i know) and i might look into the H1N1 vaccine depending on how it's administered. i've heard that if it's a nasal spray then it's a live virus...and a shot is a dead one...i think my doctor would counsel against a live virus vaccine for me.
  25. I'm not sure how a plan like this would work. In Michigan the bottle deposit works because technology allows for bar code scanners that reject bottles purchased from out of state. I don't think that it would be possible to differentiate between bottles purchased inside from those purchased outside of city limits. Therefore, it'd be quite easy for someone to collect all their cans or bottles and just drive them into the city to get the deposit. Without a statewide deposit law, i think the best bet would be to encourage recycling of bottles and cans.
